Skye and Angus married on March 27, 2013. Angus is currently active duty for the United States Army, making Skye an army wife.

Fandom involvement
Skye Frostpaw's name was actually created at random, there is no real meaning behind the name other than the fact that it's a more usual name. Her fur is actually white because of the lack of grey colored pencils during her creation.

Fursona
Skye Frostpaw's fursona is a female snow leopard, with white fur, a grey belly and blue hair. Her tail is her pride and joy and is often used as a pillow.

In 2008, Skye was introduced to the furry community via NEOfurs. There she met many friends and started creating a name for herself. NEOfurs is also where Skye was introduced to her baby brother, Eleete_Frostpaw, another snow leopard in northeastern Ohio.

They only lived roughly twenty minutes away from each other and soon grew very close, almost inseparable. During a gaming meet, Skye and Eleete came up with the last name Frostpaw together.

Fursuit
Skye Frostpaw's current fursuit was created in December 2008 by Media Skunk, and delivered in April 2009. The suit is a full suit made of Monterey Mills' White Fox Fur with an airbrushed grey belly. Her tail is removable, making it possible to wear as a partial suit. The rosettes on Skye's suit are hand sewn and only cover her thighs and shoulders.

Skye suffers from Crohn's disease, which limits her fursuit time.

* Midwest Fur Fest - 2012
* Morphicon - 2009, 2010
* Texas Furry Fiesta - 2014

Hobbies/interests
Aside from attending conventions and drawing furry art. Skye is a percussionist and loves listening to marching bands. She was head snare in her high school marching band and even went on to play cymbals for Bowling Green State University's Falcon Marching Band in 2007.

During her high school years, Skye was actually an avid member of her 4-H club and bred rabbits to show and sell. She specialized in Netherland Dwarves and French Lops. (It is said that her French Lop 'character', Sugar, is based off of her first rabbit. Which was a French Lop named Sugar).

Were is a general term used as a prefix to indicate a type of shapeshifter, in relation to the mainstream concept of therianthropy (e.g. werewolves, werecats, etc).

Were and furry
In the furry fandom, "were" is a colloquial term to describe both fans of wereanimals and therians.cn Were interest overlaps both the furry and transformation fandoms, combining aspects of both; people who call themselves weres mayclarify also be fans of these other genres.

Unlike furry characters, "wereanimals" are generally more bestial and feral in behavior, usually controlled more by animal instinct and impulses rather than intellect, often to violent results.clarifycn

History
In the late 1990s, were fans originally gathered in the Usenet's newsgroup, alt.horror.werewolves, to discuss their interest in werewolves and other shapeshifting or humanoid animals from horror and mythology.cn

As time passed, three distinctive groups formed:clarifycn

* Fans of horror werewolves and other wereanimals.
* People who liked roleplaying werewolves and wereanimals.
* People who felt a personal, spiritual connection with werewolves or wereanimals. Eventually this faction became their own group.clarifycn

Views and community
Though originally a horror sub-fandom,clarify not allwho weres are horror fans. Somewho prefer to see werewolves (and other wereanimals) as more natural creatures,clarifycn which aren't inherently violent or horrific, so that any violent actions they take are a return to a wild state of being.clarifycn Were-fandom has a significant environmentalist streak because of this.cn

They enjoy the company of other like-minded weres, and sometimes meet at howls to commune with nature.cn

Art
Weres are generally interested less in anthropomorphic styled art than semi-human animals;clarify much of were art is either based on wildlife painting styles, or roleplaying game styles.cn Were-art has become a term and style in and of itself in the furry fandom.cn
