Spider-Ham (real name Peter Porker), is an anthropomorphic pig character who is the funny animal parody version of Marvel Comics' popular Spider-Man character, created by Tom DeFalco, Larry Hama and Mark Armstrong.

His first appearance was in the 1983 one-shot humor comic book Marvel Tails Starring Peter Porker, the Spectacular Spider-Ham #1, which was then followed by an ongoing bimonthly series, Peter Porker, the Spectacular Spider-Ham. The series lasted 17 issues, all of which were published under Marvel's Star Comics imprint. The character primarily exists on Earth-8311, which was a universe populated by other anthropomorphic animal parody versions of Marvel superheroes and supervillains.

Background history
Spider-Ham was born a spider who lived in May Porker's basement, but one of her inventions went wrong, and was bitten by her, transforming him into an anthropomorphic pig himself, although still with the abilities of a spider. It's never established whether he is still a spider with the limitations of a pig or a pig with the proportionate strength and agility of a spider.

Spider-Ham begins to fight injustice and the occasional funny animal villain parodied of existing Marvel villains, such as Ducktor Doom, often alongside funny animal versions of Marvel heroes, such as Captain Americat and Hulk-Bunny. Another one of his enemies includes Pork Grind, who is an animal version of Venom whom he also fights among others that are also animal versions of Marvel villains.

Comic issues
The Spider-Ham series also included back up strips featuring such characters as Deerdevil (Daredevil), Goose Rider (Ghost Rider) and the Fantastic Fur (the Fantastic Four).

Some of these back-ups were contradictory, presenting different anthropomorphic versions of characters in different stories, such as two Namor counterparts: the Sub-Merchandizer (a dog) and the Sub-Marsupial (possibly an opossum).

However, the Asinine Torch (a donkey) that appeared in a story with the Sub-Marsupial and the Fantastic Fur's Simian Torch are not two variants of the Fantastic Four's Human Torch; since he was depicted as elderly in the 1980s, and referred to as an "old sparring partner" of the Sub-Marsupial's, he was obviously a counterpart to the Golden Age Human Torch.

Back into the mainstream
The character faded into cult status, alongside other funny animal super-heroes, such as DC's Captain Carrot and His Amazing Zoo Crew. Until recently, the Marvel crew decided to give Spider-Ham another chance.

Returning triumphantly in 2005 by popular demand in a poll in variant cover art for Amazing Spider-Man #528 by artists Mike Wieringo and Karl Kesel, Spider-Man Family #1 featured a sixteen-page Spider-Girl story, in which May Parker (Peter Parker's daughter) watches a DVD showing a small portion of a fictional Spider-Ham animated series, discovering that it was created by one of Spider-Man's enemies, Jack O'Lantern. Also in the issue, there was a reprint of Marvel Tails #1.

Finally, after a nearly 20 year hiatus of Spider-Ham stories, in January 2007, J. Michael Straczynski authored the Ultimate Civil War Spider-Ham one-shot, featuring Spider-Ham's attempt to find his missing "thought balloons" against a Civil War parody.

In the 2019 comic, Amazing Spider-Man: Full Circle, Spider-Ham, along with Bombastic Bag-Ham and his symbiote suit are also featured.

In other media
Television
* In the animated series Ultimate Spider-Man, Spider-Ham appears in two different forms.
** In the fifth episode "Flight of the Iron Spider", Spider-Ham makes a cameo appearance as one of the universes Spider-Man and Living Laser were transported in.
** In the season one episode "Run Pig Run", Loki gives Spider-Man an enchanted hot dog by disguising himself as a hot dog vendor that turns him into an anthropomorphic pig resembling Spider-Ham on the day of Asgardsreia, a holiday where Asgardians go on a day long hunt which ends at sundown, as payback for foiling a previous scheme of his. With the help of Thor, Phil Coulson, Nick Fury, and his fellow S.H.I.E.L.D. trainees, "Spider-Ham" evades the Executioner and his Asgardian hunters until he turns back to normal at the end.
** Spider-Ham proper later appears in the multi-part episodes in seasons three and four, voiced by Benjamin Diskin. This version of Peter Porker was a pig who got his powers from a spider that fell into his Aunt May's vitamin pancake batter and transferred said vitamins and powers to him, turning him into Spider-Ham. He used his powers for good and even joined his world's Avengers, but J. Jonah Jackal turned the public against him and forced him to quit. In the episode "The Spider-Verse" Pt. 2, Spider-Man encounters him while he is relaxing on his farm. With his encouragement, Porker decides to become Spider-Ham once again and help him fight the Green Goblin. Following the battle, Iron-Mouse, who is Iron Man's animal counterpart, offers Spider-Ham a spot on the Avengers again, which he accepts. In "The Spider-Verse" Pt. 4, Spider-Ham joins forces with a group of alternate reality Spider-Men to help Spider-Man defeat the Spider-Goblin and Electro. In "Return to the Spider-Verse" Pt. 1, Spider-Ham ends up in Peter Parker's living room due to the effects of the shattered Siege Perilous. In "Return to the Spider-Verse" Pt. 4, Spider-Ham is captured by Wolf Spider, who seeks to drain all of his multiversal counterparts' life forces, before Spider-Man defeats Wolf Spider.
* He has also appeared in Marvel Battleworld: Mystery of the Thanostones and Treachery at Twilight, which are series based on the toy line, as well as the web-series Marvel TL;DR.

Film
* Spider-Ham appears in Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, voiced by John Mulaney. This version follows similar cartoon animal behavior as seen in cartoons from the golden age of American animation and bears a resemblance to Porky Pig from the Looney Tunes franchise. Additionally, Spider-Ham's origin remains the same and he seems to be aware of the fact that anthropomorphic animals are not common in other universes. He arrives in Miles Morales' universe along with Spider-Man Noir and Peni Parker due to the Kingpin's machinations before teaming up with them, Morales, Peter B. Parker, and Spider-Gwen to get back to their respective home universes; using his unique skill set to fight off the Kingpin's henchmen along the way. Before returning home to his own universe, he leaves his cartoon mallet with Morales as a keepsake.
** Spider-Ham appears in the prequel short Spider-Ham: Caught in a Ham, which is part of the home release of that film, with Mulaney reprising his role. When he is about to enjoy a hot dog, he gets kidnapped by Doctor Crawdaddy. He battles and defeats him in his typical cartoonish fashion until an interdimensional portal appears and affects him and his surroundings in a manner similar to the Looney Tunes short Duck Amuck before whisking him away, leading into his appearance in the film when he gets sucked into it and his hot dog pops out of it.
** Mulaney had also expressed interest in a potential film starring Spider-Ham, describing its plot as a Watergate-like story along the lines of The Post or All the President's Men while focusing on the character's career as a reporter.
* Mulaney returned to voice Spider-Ham in the animated short film Back on the Air, which was created to promote the character's appearance in the video game Marvel Contest of Champions.

Video games
* Spider-Ham makes a cameo appearance in Spider-Man: Shattered Dimensions, voiced by an uncredited, former Activision Associate Producer Kevin Umbricht. In a post-credits scene, Spider-Ham answers Madame Web's call to save the multiverse, but arrives after the Amazing Spider-Man, Spider-Man Noir, Spider-Man 2099, and the Ultimate Spider-Man already did so.
* Spider-Ham appears as a support card in the "Heroes vs. Heralds" mode in Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3.
* Spider-Ham was available as a purchasable hero in Marvel Super Hero Squad Online on March 15, 2014 to celebrate the game's anniversary.
* Spider-Ham makes a cameo appearance in Spider-Man: Edge of Time. He is seen in an Alchemax stasis tank and in Peter Parker's drawings during the credits.
* Spider-Ham appears in Marvel Heroes as a purchasable pet.
* Spider-Ham and other associated "spider" characters from the Spider-Ham comics appear as playable characters in Spider-Man Unlimited.
* Spider-Ham appears in Marvel Avengers Academy, voiced by Christopher McCann.
* Spider-Ham appears as an unlockable playable character in Lego Marvel Super Heroes 2.
* Spider-Ham appears as a playable character in Marvel Puzzle Quest.
* Spider-Ham appears as a playable character in Marvel Contest of Champions, voiced again by John Mulaney.

Miscellaneous
Spider-Ham appears in the Twisted ToyFare Theatre parody comic "Four Webbings and a Funeral" as part of The Wizard Spider-Man Special. In the comic, Spider-Ham appears as one of the entrees being served at Spider-Man's funeral.

Regarding article exclusion (removal) from Wikifur
* Please consult the Wikifur's page about "article exclusion" first.
* The request must be made by the article's user, with some exceptions (next of kin, lawyer/barrister, etc...).
* The exclusion will delete the ability for others to edit it any further, plus a protection layer is added by Wikifur's curators so is no longer searchable on such sites such as Google.
* NOTE: Removal of personal information is normally not the same as exclusion, and it can be done without needing curator assistance.
* The request can be made in a myriad of ways (Email, Zoom/Skype, Twitter, Facebook, IRC, Fur Affinity's DM/Discord, etc...).

If you are trying to contact me specifically about an exclusion, please send me a DM via Twitter at "Spirou on Wikifur".

Request: Source citations
Heyo Spirou, thanks for all your patience and help with my page so far.

I have some sources you can use for my WikiFur page, which I've put in the Talk page of my article.

I don't know how to add citations but if you can add an example I can just copy and paste stuff myself, which is entirely how I wrote the original article.

Here's a link to my blog where I reference my immigration, which you can add as a citation for my immigration under "early life" and change "at the age of 16" to "under the age of 18".

Thanks for everything,

Etrius WhiteTigerOfTheWest

Issues with citation templates
Hey Spirou, I'm curious as to your comment on this revision where you mention that the reference templates I've been working on lately were "bombing" Safari. I also use Safari as my main browser and haven't encountered issues. Are you able to provide more info on what's causing problems, or what affect it seems to be having? Thanks! 12:31, 23 February 2022 (EST)
:Saving on preview causes the page to lock, and eventually crash. Does not happen on (Apple-approved) Chrome or Edge (could be a Safari extension issue, maybe Grammarly). first page with this type of reference edit use instead of the ones we have been using since day one, is there a reason for using this type now?. If this is GreenReaper approved, no prob, but syntax that may cause a possible crash could be an issue (if extension related, could be a pain if I have to switch them off to just edit an article) - Spirou (talk) 14:51, 23 February 2022 (EST)
::My assumption would be that it would be extension related if it's not happening in other browsers. Nothing too weird in the syntax either, it's pretty much the same as what Wikipedia were using before they transitioned all their major templates over to Lua (which WikiFur doesn't support).
::I started updating and using citation templates (most already existed, just hadn't been used or updated for several years) to try and bring some consistency to citations. I personally find it easier to assemble them if there's a template with specific parameters and formats to use, and it of course removes some human error from the equation. Most other wiki projects I contribute to also use such templates, so WikiFur either lacking equivalents, or those equivalents being so massively out of step, was pretty jarring for me. They're not something I'm pushing to be a standard on WikiFur, but they're a tool I personally find useful. 15:15, 23 February 2022 (EST)

Good evening,

I created the account GrantGraywolf about 7 hours ago. I can see why you blocked me, since I didn’t contribute anything and made no edits to my user page. My email address and IP are both blocked as well, so I’m sending this from my phone.

My intent was to edit the page for Longhorn Furs and create an article for its successor org, Longhorn Furries. I’m smack in the middle of finals season so I didn’t get to this right away. I’ve also read through WikiFur:About and understand wiki policy.

I would like to kindly request my block be lifted. If you need any sort of verification, I can happily send it. If the ban is permanent, I’ll also understand.

I apologize if I’ve made any mistakes, and I wish you well.

Thank you,
Grant

Hello!

I recently added some characters from SpongeBob to the Fish page as anthro characters. I was wondering why my edits were gone, then I saw the comment to go with it. This is my first time editing mind you but here are some links to the wikis where I found what their names are:
https://spongebob.fandom.com/wiki/Incidental_40
https://spongebob-new-fanon.fandom.com/wiki/Nat_Peterson

If they aren't major enough characters to add, I understand that though.
Cheers!

:Except for Mrs. Puff on Sponge Bob Squarepants, we don't include incidental characters as it would quickly overtake the article. Where can I find the original text?
I don't want to write it a third time.
I looked to see if I could hire myself as the director of my own event (Staf).
However, you have already deleted it twice.
There is no more information on several other staff.
I would finally solve it so that the event does not have a dead link, but they keep deleting it.

Why is it good that instead of my name, Stafs now reads: 188.6.73.162

:The paragraph is located on the initial creator's user page. I will put in your user page too. - Spirou (talk) 00:49, 23 September 2022 (EDT)

Targeting
I'm starting to feel like you're targeting me and my page, I don't care that you think certain things don't belong the way you seem to think they do, but I'm getting sick and tired of your elitist edits on my page. I'll kindly ask you to leave me and my page alone.
:*Sigh* First, it’s not YOUR article, it is an article about YOU in Wikifur. Second, me, you, others, anybody can edit your article so it becomes what the article should be and work with the rest of thousands of user articles on this wiki, third, I’m not targeting you, so kindly do not THREAT anybody who gives its/their time on this wiki. I edited out your article because I’m working on other Wikifur articles offline, keeping an eye on vandals on the recent pages, and removing spam, so I had spare minutes to help you with the article about you. And fourth, if you are losing iit because another editor is working on your article, you will not make in the real world. Coming from someone who isn’t stupid….that was dumb to erase my work….all editors do not…and I annunciation….DO NOT have the brains to figure out what is right because I put my hours of my life into that page you prick…so be nice and I’ll return the favor….I am done here.

You can F(uck) off before I deal with dreading all the data, (so) have fun being a mentally retarded editor. And enjoy this hell of a read because I'm done playing games with every platform

And merry whore Christmas ya prick(.)

:My apologies if you saw that but this is very important to me….I need that page and I need to have a more concise removal criteria you can't just say that it's bad when it took an hour to make….so please just attach guidelines to my page and I'll attempt to correct any futile mistakes….one heck of a mess isn't a viable answer….and Between you and me….I got instigated over and over….and if this article gets destroyed I'll be on the bottom of the deck forever….so please just tell me what's wrong with it….and be concise….understood?

:::::(*Facepalm*). Oookay, using another account to circumvent the ban you should be in? (...disregard this time only once). Alright, again, as stated elsewhere, your "work" was not destroyed, it is still on your account's talk page (here).

:::::You created a "Create-n-Forget" (more than 24/48 hours with no further edits after the first creation time) article for Hiena Frappe, which you then left bareboned and incomplete. In the past, these types of articles were actually deleted, but now, if there is a minimum of data now, they are moved to the original creator's Talk Page (in your case, again, here), which it gives the original editor time to flesh out the article until is ready to post on the main page.

:::::That said, if I can understand your above response, I hope this is for another (human) user, which is fine. But if it is for your fursona only, nope. SolDirix, also known as Sol, formerly known as Solid_Spy or SolidSpy24, is a furry artist, indie game developer, and music producer.

Fursona
His fursona is a folf with jet-black fur and a gray face, tail tip, and underbelly. He has short, maroon hair and bushy eyebrows, and yellow eyes that fade to orange. His build is lean, and he is typically seen wearing clothes. He also has a feral form.

His previous fursona was similar but had yellow hair and blue eyes, and was a fox with a skinnier build. Was usually feral.

The first fursona he came up with however was an eevee with jet-black fur and an orange chest fluff, as well as purple eyes. It was mainly inspired by Eevee Party, which was also his first major influence in joining the fandom back in the late 2000's.

Game development projects
His biggest works are his most recently created indie title A2 Zygon, and his custom 3D game engine made in C++ with OpenGL 4.3.

He has also worked on other projects, such as:
* Mauser - A college group indie project influenced by Cuphead. He worked as a programmer and level designer, and made the song for the final boss.
* Pacman Portal - Another college indie project, but solo made. Features Pacman but uses a portal gun to teleport around the stage.
* Cross The Road - A small Crossy Road demake made as a solo school project in Unreal Engine 4 using Blueprints.
* Basketball VR - A small Basketball VR solo project made in Unreal Engine 4 with C++.

Music
He produces most of his music using FL Studio 20. Most of his own music is chiptune and electronic, although he loves to experiment with different styles. He also loves to make fan music from video games and movies. Some of his most influential artists are ZUN, Grant Kirkhope, Eiffel 65, Deadmau5, Gigi D'Agostino, Living Tombstone, Wooden Toaster, and Daft Punk.

Artwork
Most of his art is made in Gimp and Krita, and is submitted to Fur Affinity, Reddit, and Twitter. He also makes and rigs his own 3D models in Blender. His biggest influences have been Badasi (Yu Ji, creator of Eevee Party and the Warrior Cats animated series), Jay Naylor, Don Bluth, and Corvus Katana (previously known as FlightFootWarrior).
