Gryphons of the Mist, GotM, was a public Yahoo! Groups forum used for gryphon-themed roleplay, GRPG. GotM ran between the years of 2001 and 2006. Rules and other details can be found at GRPG and GRPG:SE.

The majority of the characters in the story were Brute Gryphons, a high-tech experimental gryphon made by aliens.

Brute Gryphons
Brute gryphons is a slang term referring to the gryphons in the story which are experimented on in an alien lab and given cybernetic implants. They have special abilities which include teleportation and dimension hopping. They're slightly bigger and stronger than traditional gryphons found in the story. They may or may not have fangs and be poisonous.

SE
The Silver Elite. A story about alien-gryphons in the distant future. The Silver Elite, SE, is the main company of gryphons in the story. It is the name of the hidden underground lab in the protected wildlife preserve called the Kaibab plateau just north of the Grand Canyon in the year 4056. This lab was once an alien spacecraft which hailed from an Earth-like planet in the Betelgeuse system but came to the Solar system and to Earth in the year 3402 in an attempt to relocate. In the year 3402, this meant war with the humans and it didn't go very well for the humans, but in the year 4056, the descendants of the alien invaders exist in the underground lab, the Silver Elite, as gryphons, -ish, and are a vital part of the ecosystem of the Kaibab plateau. It is a space off-limits to humans and has been that way since the war of 3402.

The Plot Thickens
In the year 4056, the gryphons of the Silver Elite company have gone viral in pop culture with their release of the holowatch, a smartwatch that was capable of projecting a hologram avatar around the user. It allowed any user to change their identity to anything they wanted. Holowatch users eventually start committing crimes disguised as holograms of other people (or things, like a giant Killer Rabbit) and now there is heat on the Silver Elite.

The Silver Elite
A few of the main characters in GRPG:SE are members of the Silver Elite, pictured to the right.
Most content relating to GRPG:SE takes place in Gryphons of the Mist, but a novel is also being written about it (by the guy writing this).
