KnotCast is a furry-themed sex questions and relationship advice podcast. New episodes are recorded on Thursdays, and are usually made available on the KnotCast website over the weekend.

Savrin's mate, Panther (aka, the tech-savvy at-risk youth), provides technical support.

The KnotCast theme is an excerpt from "5 Minutes" by Sublevel 03 which was mixed by the band specially for the show.

Notable events in Knotcast history
*2008-07-25: The KnotCast studio (the apartment shared by Savrin, Panther, and their roommate) was vandalized and the podcasting equipment stolen. KnotCast was on a brief hiatus while the equipment was repurchased. Thanks to listener donations the podcast resumed on August 7th, 2008.
*2009-02-20: As of Furry Fiesta 2009, Damien decided to leave KnotCast to focus on school, work, and other projects.
*2009-03-05: KnotCast recorded the first episode of their second year and introduced the new theme song by Sub-level 03.
*2009-05-07: Cast agrees to make Istanbul a regular cast member.

Recurring Jokes
Cat of hate - Savrin's cat, which dislikes Damien.

Don't do drugs, kids - a throw-away line used by Savrin when transition between thoughts.

Doorknobs - Originally made as a joke to suggest that the Tech-Savy-At-Risk-Panther would beat Savrin like a real abusive domestic relationship. The traditional reference being an abused wife covering up the origins of her black eye as "I fell into/on a doorknob." The scenarios in which Savrin would 'fall into' doorknobs became wildly unorthodox. Much to the amusement in the cast, this has eventually led to the doorknob becoming a symbol of punishment.

Dragons - See Tumbles the Stairdragon.

Good night... and big balls - Phrase used to end the podcast. The first clause may be said by any member of the podcast, but Zapnut always says the latter.

Husky Rawr! - Damien has a tendency to go on at length and sometimes propose violence as a solution when he feels strongly about the situation being discussed.

NYNGHHH NYNGHHH - Making fun of the crazier members of the fandom, whose actions have been compared to the mentally challenged (See Dragons).

Pro tip - helpful suggestions made by Savrin

ROFLhusky - after Damien literally fell on the floor laughing during one episode, he earned this nickname.

Roo Puns - Damien's species change from a husky fursona to a kangaroo generated a range of puns involving 'roo imagery. Mainly seen in Episode 26, which was just after his change, the puns came from his fellow podcasters and a few viewers. Damien has since become a husky again.

Staircases - See Tumbles the Stairdragon.

Rules
Early in KnotCast's development, a set of rules was put in place for what could (and could not) be said to avoid offending listeners. These rules are often broken (and it is announced so with a corresponding rule number), but rarely explained for the benefit of the listeners.

Rules that have been explained to date are:
* #1 - FuzzWolf must eat a meal before recording the podcast (For FuzzWolf is hypoglycemic and will get pissy if not full)
* #2 - Don't bring (fandom related) drama to the podcast
* #3 - No scat or watersports - Scatman DENIED
* #4 - No Holocaust jokes
* #5 - (not yet explained, but when one of the cast makes a semi-racist remark, another member says "Rule #5", possibly may be "no use of the N word")
* #7 or #8 - No pedophilia jokes
* #9 - all of Fuzzwolf's fanwank must be read by Damien.

Guests ("Token females")
Guests on the show are known as token females. (Originally it was for the first guest, Jen Ferret, but it has seen been used to refer to all guests)

The following people have been guests (known as "Token females") on the podcast:

Concession features a wide array of different characters, ranging from the 'core' of the cast, featured most often (Joel, Artie, and Matt), to single-appearance customers.

Major characters
* Joel Calley - Male, black wolf. Very sarcastic, cynical, and sadistic. Despite a general loathing of everyone, he is frequently found with a wide variety of sexual partners. It has been revealed that Joel is, somehow, a representative of Death, and has been manipulating a few of the major events in the comic for goals that have yet to be revealed. He has attempted to kill Tim the pastor, and Artie many times in a Grim Reaper-like form. His brother is the head of a major company that Joel has orchestrated the downfall for. It is also suggested that he has romantic feelings towards Matt, as well as feelings of regret and affection towards Roland.
* Matt Gein - Male, brown striped cat. Very innocent and not too bright, Matt is the newest member of the concession stand staff. He is very firm in his Christian beliefs, and takes everything with a sunny optimism. It is very strongly suggested that he is gay, having made out with Aaron after being stranded at his house. It is also hinted that he has a, somewhat, shared romantic feeling towards Joel, though it has not been stated outright.
* Angie Jansen - Female dinosaur. Thonnen's cousin. She is flirtatious and outgoing, though not very bright. She has no reservations on sharing partners, or tricking people, even attempting to sleep with Roland by acting like Thonnen. She is shown to also be very open minded, not really affected by the fact that Rick, whom she has an on-going relationship, has slept with his sister Kate.
* Artie Crowley - Male, white mouse. Artie is the stand supervisor and has rule over the other characters. He has brain cancer which had been in remission, but has currently started to reform in his brain. While it is a miracle that he is still alive, he has lapses in reality where he looses track of what he has done, leading to a sexual encounter with Chelsie, a hypersexual young boy left at the movie theater. He struck up a relationship with Kate, but broke up with her violently when she revealed her pedophillic nature. He has recently cut and dyed his hair red.
* David Innitou - Male panda. He is the manager of the concession stand. A very short, irate old man, David is constantly running the insane antics of the concession stand. He tends to be very hypocritical in his line of logic.
* Rick Ribeiro - Male ring-tailed lemur. Angie's boyfriend, and Joel's close friend and drug dealer. He has a very close relationship with his sister, whom he loves, yet constantly berates, often in retaliation for an insult directed at him. As it turns out, Rick and Kate both of had an incestuous relationship that both Joel and Angie know about, but have kept on the down low.
* Kate Ribeiro - Female ring-tailed lemur. Rick's sister, who lives with him and their father. Kate is very close to her brother, often giving him displays of affection. She is a pedophile, and has a job as a baby sitter, which she uses to find new children to sleep with. The children she has in her circle, though, all appear to be hypersexual, and are all, more or less, willing to go with her.
* Kelly den Adel - Female zebra. The Box Office attendant. Reserved and laid back, for the most part, Kelly is often the voice of reason, if Artie can't be. She is a lesbian, and currently dating a fox girl named Emily, whom she met on a train.
* Roland le Fay - Male pangolin. An art major, the clerk at an art gallery, and Joel's roommate. Very firm in his views on art, he isn't shy about voicing his opinions on paintings, but is very reserved otherwise. He was dating Thonnen for a long time, even after her rape and impregnation, however was dumped close to the laying of her egg. He is gay for Joel, frequently sleeping with him when the mood strikes either of them. Otherwise, he is straight. He is one of few people Joel feels close to, the shoulder Roland cried on after being dumped by Thonnen.
* Thonnen Turunen - Female dinosaur. Angie's cousin. Thonnen is the last of the Turunen's true bloodline, a role which she doesn't seem to interested in conforming to. She was raped one night, by order of her grandmother, the new leader of the Jansen Tribe after her greatgrandmother died. She has decided to keep the egg, but broke up with Roland, whom she had been dating for the longest time, the longest relationship in the comic's timeline.
* Aaron "Nicole" O'Connor - Male skunk. Nicole was first introduced in the third Concession comic as a randomly-generated character. He returned months later in a strip that revealed Joel's bisexuality. Very cunning and scheming, he always has a plan on his mind. He had planned on sleeping with Matt when he took him in for the night, but was ultimately thwarted by Joel. Despite this, though, Joel and Nicole still seem to be friends, the wolf, every so often, sleeping over at his house. The name "Nicole" was actually given to him by a friend/rival in high school, who had used then name to insult his lack of masculinity, only for him to adopt the name in revenge.

Recurring minor characters
* Chelsie Warner - Male sheep. A young, enigmatically-transvestite child who was left behind at the theatre by his parents. He is extremely violent, and hypersexual, having sex with both Artie (unintentionally on Artie's part), and Kate.
* Tim McNeil - Male raccoon. Tim is a priest for St. Marks, a local temple for The Church of the Shepard. Upon meeting Joel, he accused him of causing the deaths of Chelsie's family. He is somehow a "divine spirit" bent on keeping Joel from his "goals". He is the current caretaker for Chelsie.
* Kane Woods - Male salamander. Kane is a police officer who was called to the theatre to help deal with the lost child, Chelsie. He and Joel have a long history together, though very few details are known about it.
* Raj Jansen - Female dinosaur. The new head of the Jansen tribe. In contrast to her kinder, more laid-back predecessor, she is rather ruthless in her methods. even going against the beliefs of the pack to further their bloodline. She places a lot of importance on the strength of the family blood line.
* Cecil Richter - Male Cheetah. Nicole's closest friend, and a nudist. He spends days at a time at Nicole's house, naked, usually either sleeping or playing video games.
* Clarissa - Female Hamster and reverse-furry. One of the three characters introduced in Concession's "...and the rest" comic.
* Zoë Male (cross-dressing) Bilby. A bilby is a marsupial mouse. In feral form their pouches are upside down because they burrow a lot, but anthro, their pounces are kangaroo-like. Zoë is his chosen female name, but Immelemann hasn't decided on his original birth name yet. One of the three characters introduced in Concession's "...and the rest" comic.
* (unnamed as of yet) Male Okapi. He, also, has two names, one for his two main personalities, but Immelemann hasn't decided on those names yet. One of the three characters introduced in Concession's "...and the rest" comic.

The Random Character Generator
One of the distinguishing features of Concession is its use of randomly-created furs to serve as customers or nameless passer-bys. Each character has its species, gender, sexuality, and religion rolled for it, and it is described beneath the comic, along with its name and a short bio.

The characters are created using a random-number generator and an Excel spreadsheet, which lists the different types of gender, religion, and species (and, occasionally, sexual orientation) in numbered rows. 8 numbers are generated, 1-100, and are lined up with each column. Five of these numbers are reserved for species, which featured 113 different species, categorized by order and class.

Most randomly-generated characters have only one appearance, occasionally returning for a second appearance, although some are designed with multiple appearances in mind, as in the case of Kane and Tim. Nicole is the major exception - a character intended for a one-shot appearance who has returned to become an important and popular character.

A similar Character Generator is also used for Furthia High.
The 2008 edition of Guinness World Records calls Anthrocon the "largest furry fan club" in the world.

The entry describes furry fandom as "a subculture which enjoys dressing up as animals." It makes reference to Richard Adams' Watership Down, and also mentions Anthrocon's charity auction, guests of honor, and the "furries parade."

While the book's description of Anthrocon as a "club" may seem odd, it has merit; Anthrocon, Inc. is a 501(c)(7) recreational club which operates a convention for its members.

The entry is slightly out of date, as it uses the Anthrocon 2006 figure of 2489, while 2849 attended this year's convention. The accompanying photograph is from Tugrik's Anthrocon 2006 photoshoot.

Reception to the news among the furry community has been generally positive, although some took exception to the positioning of the photograph below a table of "modern mass suicides."

This may not be Anthrocon's last entry, as Camstone Fox is organizing an attempt for the largest number of mascots in a parade at Anthrocon 2008.

Guinness World Records 2008 is sold at a recommended retail price of $28.95, but is available for less than $15 plus shipping. Over the years, the book has moved from its original listings of facts to recording sensational activities. The latest edition is described in one review as "colorful" and "chock-full of photos."
