Side 7 is the fictitious name for the Global Community For Artistic Development (GCAD). GCAD is a small 501(c)(3) corporation founded by its five board members to help further the global artistic community. The corporation works to make available resources for both new and veteran artists alike, at little or no cost to the artist.

Side 7's mission, and the reason Side 7 was created, was to provide aspiring novice artists, as well as experienced veteran artists, a haven in which to learn and improve their skills. Designed as an artist community, as opposed to only an art archive, Side 7 attempts to create an inviting atmosphere where artists from all walks of life can gain insight into the world of art, obtain knowledge and experience through tutorials, critiques and help from more advanced artists, and establish friendships and earn respect from other people around the world who share their love of artwork. To this end, Side 7 attempts to keep a friendly environment, both online and offline, where all can feel welcome.

A number of artists on side 7 are furry, although the site is not exclusive to that genre.

Side 7's staffers currently consist of:

Bad Karma (Jason Lamey)

Furrball (Rebecca Lamey)

Gushi (Dan Mahoney)

with some special help from Sir Kain (Eric Goodwin), Cael Jacobs, and Esquire

An elaborate world created originally by a woman nicknamed Aido, complete with foreign lands, peoples, histories, as well as a series of inventive gods not unlike the ones from days of yore. This world, as well as any information used to elaborate upon it by Aido, was later incorporated into a muck by the same name with Aido's artwork for reference. The muck's creator was a woman nicknamed Banrai. No information on Altaedus provided by Banrai was used with permission by Aido, and though Banrai has resigned, the muck is still functional.

According to Pounced.org, bats (or Chiropterans) are the 23rd most popular phenotype.

One of the most famous anthropomorphic bats is Batty Koda, a rainforest-dwelling bat from the 1992 movie "FernGully: The Last Rainforest". Others include Bartok of "Anastasia", an albino bat from Russia, and Stellaluna, a fruit bat from the book and film by the same name.

Author Kenneth Oppell also created a best selling series of novels entitled "Silverwing" as a challenge to himself in writing about a less-understood nocturnal creature. The series (now a popular television series) features various species of American bats as the central figures, similar to the rabbits in the classic novel "Watership Down".

The bat is associated with characters of the night, both villains like Dracula and heroes like Batman.

Bainrai Comes Foreword
On the Creation Known as Altaedeus

"I have no plans to renew the altaedeus.com website"

"This is the only public statement that you will see me make about this, because as far as I am conserned, public = drama.

"I admit that I royally screwed up. Aido has already heard my final word on this, and since she never wrote me back I can only assume that it was enough. However, I'm sure she knows that if she ever decides to reply to my mail, I'll gladly continue to discuss things with her.

"Aido. I'm sorry. I doubt you care, or are even reading this. I'm trying to get help, and I will be as long as what little bit I have saved up holds out. I have no plans to renew the altaedeus.com website, however seeing as how i have washed my hands of the entire thing, my husband is now in control of the webspace. He knows my standpoint, and I think he is going to honor me on it, despite the other things he is doing under the name. I have removed the 'Altaedeus' section from my website, TwilightCollective.net as well."

"...I'm [not] going to go back on my word. I like to think I have more willpower than that."
