Previously at war with the Lyrek, they've now integrated into their society, but not without effort. Some Chaoyx still fight to bring down the Lyrek to this day. Others just want to fit in, and still others simply want to be left alone. They have a tendency to cause trouble wherever they are.<ref>[http://www.furaffinity.net/journal/705057/ Asria - FA journal entry]</ref>

== Physical Traits ==
The Chaoyx is a species that is most acclimated to cold-weather climates. Fur patterns are limited to two or three colors, and stripes are always present. Sometimes just on the face, other times from head to toe. Fur length is usually very short. Common traits are long, prehensile whip-like tails and digitigrade hind legs with cloven hooves. Two long horns sprout from their skull, and can be any variation of curved, spiraled and straight. Despite the presence of canines, the Chaoyx is an herbivorous species. They have, however, been known to consume other living creatures; usually whole, and never for nutritional reasons. Their hands sport onyx talons, and the medium-sized dragonic wings on their backs are often two toned, the webbing a brighter color than their fur. Chaoyx head shapes vary widely depending on what region they were born in. Hermaphrodites can be common, but females with extending, phallic-like clitorises are more common. The males tend to have considerably large genitalia in comparison to body size, with wide, flat heads, and are completely smooth save for a ring-like bump in the middle, causing them to resemble an equine phallus.

== Breeding ==
During estrus, both females and the males that come around them, will take on a bestial personality. They are far more impulsive, their instincts tend to run their decisions with no regard to consequences. On the last day of their cycle, much like werewolves on a full moon, the bodies of females will change. Unlike werewolves, however, they will revert into four legged beasts, a more feral version of themselves. This often does not last more than a day. Some overly sensitive males will also be effected by a female's cycle and revert, but this does not always happen. Females whom become pregnant will lay one to four large eggs after four months of pregnancy. These eggs must be kept safe for one year before hatching. Chaoyx can walk when they are born, but they cannot fly until their wings reach appropriate size. Some Chaoyx cannot fly if their wings do not grow large enough to support their weight, or they get damaged.

== Personality ==
All Chaoyx have extreme sociopathic tendencies. They can be quite aloof, except when they choose to present themselves as someone more caring than they actually are. Manipulation and conning come naturally to this species, they are masters of deception. Territorial and dominant, they treat other people as obstacles in their paths. The need for stimulation often puts them in dangerous situations, and sometimes leads to promiscuity. A serious lack of empathy goes undetected; their charming demeanor masks it well. Although there are exceptions, the Chaoyx caters to very few true emotions. As a norm, most of their socializing is done through a wall of falsity, and as such, the only lifelong relationships they tend to have are with other Chaoyx. Everyone else is treated as objects for immediate gratification, even if the Chaoyx themselves do not realize it at the time.

'''Chaoyx''' is a fictional species created by [[Asria]]. It is pronounced ''“Sh-a-ow-ix”''.

== The Story ==
In the beginning, out of the need for balance over the land, two opposing forces came into existence. From the sea came a shining bird whose feathers stretched out for hundreds of miles, made of golden light. Her entire existence, to drive out the darkness. From the opposite part of the world, creeping from a black pit, whisps of shadow and mist manifested into the form of a reptilian creature. His body large enough to cause entire mountains to crumble within his wake. Driven by a single desire, he marched forth; to drive out the light.

It went on like this for thousands of years. The mighty bird of light and the dominating reptilian of darkness chased each other over the Earth. Sometimes one would win, sometimes the other. For a while, anyway. Let it be known that these two creatures were not the only ones to inhabit this place. No, there were a variety of animals. The most dominating of them were ones whom walked on two legs. Their numbers seemed almost endless, and the species was called 'Lyrek'.

The Lyrek built villages, tended farms and murdered animals for food. They were not a smart species. They had very little education beyond their own storytelling and myths. Sometimes the battle between the bird and the reptilian would completely destroy their villages, other times half of a continent due to floods, earthquakes or tsunami.

Fed up with it all, the lawmakers and rulers of the Lyrek came together and decided that it was high time for the fighting to stop. They could not keep up with the rate that their homes were being destroyed. Having already chopped down a great majority of the forests, there was little more wood left to be had. Together, they devised a great plan. They would bring down one of the god-like creatures in order to stop it once and for all. Which one, though? After weighing the options with their individual Kingdoms, most of the complaints came from the field workers. The light was too hot, too bright. It burned their skin and their eyes. When the bird came too close to their villages, it would dry out the crop. Hunters also complained. The light would expose them to the very animals they were hunting! It was settled. The bird would be the one they would take down.

The Lyrek waged a great and glorious war with the beast of light, moving with the attacks of the dark reptilian in order to overcome and destroy her. While she did not go down without a fight, in the end there was a great sense of relief. The reptilian of darkness, for several months, withdrew and remained dormant, quiet, subdued. The light no longer burned the workers skins, and there was enough light from the heavens still to see. Hunting became much more easy.

Then the crops began to die. No Lyrek could figure out why. Many of their species were becoming pale and sick, some even died. The air began to turn cold. Another meeting of minds was called, and this time they blamed the darkness. It must be responsible for all of this sickness, all of this death. They had driven out the light, so why not the darkness as well?

For hundreds of years they searched for the den of the reptilian. Technology grew twenty fold. Electric lights and humming motors drowned out the silence of the wilderness. The sounds and general disarray roused the sleeping reptile. He emerged to see his land completely raped by this new technological society of creatures. The trees gone. Animals dead. His beloved darkness chased away by fabricated lights! Enraged, he rampaged across the Earth, destroying everything in his wake. The Lyrek, by this time, had already created a large weapon that could throw a spear of light with a force previously unknown to exist, directly into the center of the reptilian's being.

Upon his approach, this is exactly what they did. The light shot straight into his middle, and surprisingly, remained there. Shining brightly. Flaring and flickering like flames of a fire.

Then came the rumble.

It was deep and everywhere. Beneath their feet, above their heads, in front and behind them. It sounded like hundreds of planets being crushed and ground up inside of a tiny marble. It was silent and it was booming all at once. The reptile's head arched back and his mouth of mist and shadow opened, and he let out a whispered wail. From his chest an explosion, and out poured copious amounts of viscous fluid.. or what they thought was fluid. It was not.

It was blackness. It poured like a raging ocean to cover the land.. and ripping into existence from each wave came a creature. Every one was different in some way, but they all were the same in other ways. All had hooves, all had horns and bat-like wings. Some sprang fully grown, young, some were just torsos or legs as if they had not been completed in the sheer force of the pitch black current.

These creaturesm these nymphs of Chaos, immediately set themselves upon the Lyrek. They raped the women, the men and the children. They feasted on them, and destroyed everything in their path. The Lyrek, being the technologically advanced society that they were, were not so easy to go down. Drawing up arms, even as their numbers dwindled, they began to fight these strange new creatures, driving them back into the depths of that very blackness they were being distracted away from. It slithered like snakes until it enveloped everything. Where there was faint light from the sky before, now there was none. Nothingness consumed anything that gave off any semblance of light, the great reptilian force vanishing into it.
All that remained in the end were a few small villages of Lyrek. Together they forged a new path. Built new villages. Started over. The entire time had come to be known as The Great Regret. Even as they built, even as they started anew, things were not without their setbacks. These strange new creatures, like and yet so unlike the Lyrek, still existed. They still came forth to pillage and destroy, and even at times disguised themselves as Lyrek to manipulate things from the inside. The Lyrek named these chaotic nymphs, the Chaoyx.

Chaoyx were born with a natural distaste and hatred for Lyrek, and from their point of view, it was the Lyrek which were to be eradicated by any means necessary. The stench of their filth would be cleansed from the Earth.

Over many, many centuries, the both the Lyrek and the Chaoyx began to forget their beginnings. They forgot why they fought. Why they hated each other. General dislike replaced the desire for eradication in all but a few of each sides. The Chaoyx, however, being the creatures that they were, could not completely remove their instincts, and still, even involuntarily, caused problems within society. For this reason they were rarely accepted completely. Some Chaoyx still fight to bring down the Lyrek to this day. Others just want to fit in, and still others simply want to be left alone.

In the end, some facsimile of balance.. has been restored. For now.

'''Chaoyx''' is a fictional species created by [[Asria]]. It is pronounced ''“Sh-a-ow-ix”''.

== The Story ==

For now.

== Physical Traits ==

== Breeding ==
Breeding:

== Personality ==
All Chaoyx have extreme sociopathic tendancies. <ref>[http://www.furaffinity.net/journal/705057/ Asria - FA journal entry]
