Further Confusion (FC) is an annual American furry convention.

Overview
FC celebrates the anthropomorphic genre and the furry fandom, and is typically held in late January across the weekend of Martin Luther King Jr. Day at the San Jose Convention Center and connected Marriott and Hilton hotels.

It remains part of the group of the largest American and worldwide furcons, the 6th largest as of 2025.

History
Beginning in 1999 with 691 attendees, Further Confusion has grown rapidly, reaching 4,509 by 2020.}}

The reason given was the implementation of security by the venue. It was further announced that the fursuit photoshoot would still occur outdoors.

Party floor cancellation
In September of 2025, it was announced that Further Confusion would no longer be hosting a party floor, a staple of the convention that had been a part of its programming since 2004. A statement was posted to BlueSky citing a policy change by the Marriott hotel connected to the convention center.

Further details about the policy changes have not been released. The prior year's party floor had experienced a couple of incidents that were circulated heavily on social media, such as a group of inebriated non-fur teenage hotel guests stealing a convention badge from a fursuiter to gain access to the space and starting a physical fight with patrons and staff when asked to leave.

As of January 2026, replacement programming during the event's usual timeslot has not been announced.

Artshow
Further Confusion has one of the largest art shows of any convention in the fandom. Sales routinely exceed $50,000, with one piece alone, Eyes of the Night by female artist Goldenwolf, going for a record amount of $10,000 at Further Confusion 2004 as the result of a close, fierce bid battle between Flint Otterhall and a local appreciator of furry art.

Mascot(s)
Further Confusion has three official mascots, all named after locations within the Bay Area. They are frequently featured in convention artwork and had dedicated biographies in the 2024 conbook.

In addition to convention artwork, VRChat 3D models of the mascots were created. A trading card game featuring the mascots was also announced for Further Confusion 2026<ref>Some royalty are coming to Further Confusion 2026! post on Further Confusion's BlueSky official account.
