Furry Fight Farm

207.200.116.137:

Furry Fight Farm was a cyber-wrestling establishment similar to the real-world WWE or TNA wrestling franchises that catered to furs wishing to engage in wrestling, boxing, or any other unarmed martial art or hand to hand combat. It was based in Las Vegas.

The FFF as it was known by the regulars, was created and moderated by Martin "Coelacanth" Evans as a Yahoo! group, but it eventually expanded to include real-time roleplaying on two mIRC channels. There were also several other FFF franchises, including a second Yahoo! group and a group on Smartgroups. The FFF was once so popular that non-furries would sneak in pretending to be part of the fandom.

But due to constant internal conflicts the plug was finally pulled on the FFF in 2006. All that is left is a tribute page on Furnation and a few tall tales.

Coelacanth, or "Coel" as he likes to be called, has gone on to co-found and moderate the cyber-wrestling group All Species Wrestling League (ASWL) with cyber-wrestling legend Jennifer Crow. The ASWL not only has furry wrestlers, but it also has other exotic character types like vampires, succubi, elves, superheroines, and some pretty puzzled humans who all cyber-wrestle for titles and glory.

Fred Patten

2006-03-22T06:55:19Z

207.200.116.137:

Fred Patten is considered one of the founders of the furry fandom. He has been the official editor of the Rowrbrazzle APA since 1989, having joined the APA in 1984. He has also been active in Furthest North Crew and North American Fur, amongst other places.

Outside of furry fandom, Patten is also considered one of the founders of anime fandom in the United States, and one of the country's leading experts on anime and manga. He has been a long-time member of the Los Angeles Science Fantasy Society (whose clubhouse has often been used for collating issues of Rowrbrazzle), and was a founding member of the Organization; the founders of ConFurence were also members of C/FO.

Patten won a Ursa Major Award in 2003 for Best In Show.

Sadly, Patten's activities in fandom have been curtailed due to a stroke he suffered in March 2005. As of June 2005, he was recovering, but still under medical care. He has donated hundreds of boxes containing fanzines to the University of California, Riverside library.
