The category of Comics includes webcomics, newspaper comics, printed comics, comic books, and graphic novels, because the lines between these categories can easily blur. You may enter comics here that are not explicitly furry, or intended for a furry audience - they just have to be of interest to furries, perhaps by including anthropomorphic characters.

If you can think of a comic that deserves writing about, add it in here, and maybe someone will. Don't let that stop you writing about a comic, including your own!

Sonitweek

2005-09-08T15:48:24Z

200.167.86.138:

Manuella Coté, more widely known as Manue or Sonitweek, is a furry artist and she exposes her art online on art communities such as Side7, VCL, DeviantArt and PregFur, her DeviantArt gallery more frequently updated.
She not only creates the characters but also creates stories with them, even if they remain mostly unpublished as of now. Her stories and universe are also a co-work with her friend Sybile Guérin, who draws on the same style as Manuella, except her choice is of computer-colored art, while Manuella uses mostly tradidional media - Prismacolor-branded colored pencils and markers.

Tekoya
Tekoya is the name of the city in which happens the stories in the universe created by Manue and Syb. While showing a few roots in the Sonic universe, most of it is original work. It should also be noted the cast consists of a massive amount of over 100 characters.

Different from many fans' belief the main character of the story is not Sonitweek, but Tylender. He is a hedgehog with a rivalry with Orion, an echidna guy. However this relationship varies along alternate universes, there's even one universe in which they're boyfriends.

However Manuella ie mostly known for her work on aquatic characters, specially Orqua. Orqua is one of the spirits in the stories. The spirits are female whales, each one carrying one different power, each one has two gems, one in an amulet, and other attached to the forehead, and they are basically identical and the color represents their elements. The spirits are as follows:

* Orqua Whale (Orca) - Water
* Blackstain Whale (Orca with inverted coloring) - Fire
* Korail Azura (Blue Whale) - Wind
* Lougas White (Belougas Whale) - Nature
* Aquaria Dolphin (Dolphin) - Speed
* Nevada (Nerwal) - Electricity

The only exception to the "Female whale" rule if Kai. He is a male blue shark and after saving Orqua from a gang of sharks he got awarded with becoming the spirit of Earth.
It should also be noted they have the ability of creating legs and walking in the surface, and some of them are actually larger than a normal person.

Multifurry

2005-09-04T23:55:08Z

200.167.86.138:

Multifurry is a term for furry characters with more parts than usual; extra heads, legs, arms, tails, and what have you. Sometimes, more than one part is replicated.

The 'typical' multifurry has mulitple tails, although this is far from universal. Some mulitfurs have two heads, and others multiple pairs of arms.

Some species are automatically excluded, because of their regular features.

*Insects are naturally multilimbed.
*Taurs are not multifurry in themselves. Hextaurs, however, are.
*Kitsune with multiple tails are by definition multifurry.
*Cerberus (three headed dogs) are also, by definition, multifurry.

Artists who regularly create Multifurry art
* Kelly "STrRedWolf" Price -- http://strredwolf.furrynet.com STrRedWolf also has a webcomic, Stalag '99, which often shows Multifurries as part of a few dedicated species. He also started the MultiFurry craze.

Hybrid

2005-09-04T21:17:15Z

200.167.86.138:

A hybrid is the offspring of mating two different species or two different breeds of the same species.

In the case of furry characters, a hybrid is frequently a cross of two largely or entirely unrelated species that cannot interbreed in real life, such as fox and wolf (commonly called a folf) or a tiger and skunk. The latter was popularized among furries by Max Black Rabbit's popular character, Zig Zag. Feasible hybrids that are found amongst the fandom include the liger and tigon. While most hybrid characters tend to be mammal-mammal hybrids, there are a few cases which consists of a mix of species of two different classes, this kind being most often a reptile+mammal.

According to Pounced.org, dinosaur is the 25th most popular phenotype.

Dinosaurs have always been popular, whether they're meant to inspire terror (the Jurassic Park trilogy, Dino Crisis) or evoke laughter (We're Back! A Dinosaur's Story, Toy Story, Gertie the Dinosaur).

Invertebrate

2005-09-04T15:48:24Z

200.167.86.138:

By the scientific definition, an invertebrate is any animal that lacks an internal skeleton. This includes mollusks, arachnid (spiders), insects and anything similar.

Unfairly, invertebrates inspire fear/disgust in most people. Unfair, because most are actually harmless to man and in many cases they play a much larger role in an ecosystem compared to other animals. This feeling comes from the fact that most of parasites as well as crop plagues are invertebrates, and also many use poison either for defense or for immobilizing their prey.

Also there are a number of people who actually keep Invertebrates as pets. Mostly common are tatantulas, mantis and madascan hissing roaches, but other species are known to be domesticable as well.

Invertebrates and the furry community
While not a greatly popular subject among the furry community, it is probably the most varying in concept. Most of the invertebrate characters in the fandom are female.

While a few will prefer to make invertebrate anthros with full features such as exoskeleton, antennae, multiple limbs and abdomen, most make use of a minimal set of features - typically only antennae, wings (when present in the actual species) and body patterns, with exception of spiders, which are usually portrayed with 6 arms plus body patterns. Another known concept is the one of a drider, a D&D-based concept which consists of a taur form with the lower body being of a spider.

By the scientific definition, a invertebrate is any animal that is unprovided of an internal skeleton. This includes mollusks, arachnid (spiders), Wikipedia:Insects insects and anything similar.

Unfairly, invertebrates inspire fear/despise in most people. Unfair because most are actually harmless to man and in many cases they play a much larger role in an ecosystem compared to other animals. This feeling comes from the fact that most of parasites as well as crop plagues are invertebrates, and also many use poison either for defense or for imobilizing their prey.

Also there's a number of people who will actually have Invertebrates as pets. Mostly common are tatantulas, mantis and madascan hissing roaches. But other species are known to be domesticable as well.

While not a greatly popular subject among the furry community, it is probably the most varying in concept. Most of the invertebrate characters in the fandom are female.

While a few will prefer to make invertebrate anthros with full features such as exoskeleton, antennae, multiple limbs and abdomen, most make use of a minimal set of features - typically only antennae, wings (when present in the actual specie) and body patterns, with exception of spiders, which are usually portrayed with 6 arms plus body patterns. Another known concept is the one of a drider, a D&D-based concept which consists of a taur form with the lower body being of a spider.
