Jessica Elwood is the penname of a furry artist that primarily posts on DeviantArt and formerly on FurAffinity. She uses anime styled art and coloring in her artwork, and originally used a style resembling the Sonic the Hedgehog animated adaptions.
__NOTOC__
Fursona
Jessica is a role-play writer, playing a feline/squirrel/vixen mix fursona of the same name. This fursona has been a main character in stories written by The Muse of Caprice and Whimsy.

Controversy
Tardy Commission Work
<!-- Todo: Update this section with refs, more details. This should be the meat of the article, not the hacking, as it seems to be the current controversy -- outside of people cyber-stalking her and disputing the hack. -->

Two 2010 posts on the Livejournal community artist_beware have accused Jessica Elwood of being extremely tardy in several of her commissions, in some cases in time frames of almost two years, although both reports were marked as resolved shortly after refunds and compensation art were delivered. During the fallout from the hack, it became clear that this was not an isolated incident, and that Ms. Elwood has a history of being tardy with commissions and had to issue refunds for a number of owed art pieces.

July 2010 hacking
On the same day that Elwood closed her photography account, Jessica's main DA account was apparently hacked. The alleged hacker proceeded to disable her gallery and post shock images and insulting journals, most containing anti-fur memes. During the event, DeviantArt banned the account.

At the same time of this event, a great number of otherwise empty accounts, all created within 1-3 weeks of the event, began to spam DeviantArt and Fur Affinity. Information included in these messages were supposed real life photos of Ms. Elwood, links to a retired Mexican furry named Arden the Black (later proven to be incorrect), the name Martha (connected to her PayPal information, later confirmed by Elwood to be accurate), recorded telephone conversations, et cetera.

As of August 5th, several users on DeviantArt have been banned for posting this information on otherwise empty DeviantArt accounts.fact

While no specific group or website has been linked to the attack, one journal posted during the event contained the motto of the group Anonymous, which is typically associated with 4chan's /b/ forum and Encyclopedia Dramatica. In addition, Camerella specifically thanked 4chan and /b/ in a video she posted to her website for "taking care of that Elwood faker," although this appears to have been confusion on her part.

Return
While the DeviantArt account had been unbanned as early as July 14th, no verifiable activity was performed by Jessica Elwood until the morning of August 2nd, when the "Dirty Beaner" byline on her DeviantArt account was removed.

Around 3:45 PM PST on August 2nd, Jessica Elwood posted a public apology for her actions, reaffirmed her claim that she was hacked, confirmed her name is actually Martha and that she does live in Mexico, and claimed some of the things that happened to cause the event stemmed from self esteem issues.

At the same time, she posted four commissioned drawings with a comment on one of them stating that her archives would remain in storage until she finishes the tardy commission work she owes people.

Fur Affinity Banning
The Fur Affinity administration performed a public investigation into the accusations of commission abuse. On July 21st, Dragoneer and other FA administrators concluded this investigation, placing a ban on Jessica Elwood's account pending resolution of several thousand dollars worth of tardy commission work. Commissions have since been posted since on DeviantART even if FurAffinity administrator Arshes Nei had stated Ms. Elwood is free to appeal her ban at any time.<ref>[http://forums.furaffinity.net/threads/77410-Rave-Something-funny-on-a-wet-weekend?p=2029321&viewfull=1#post2029321 FurAffinity Forums.
