== History ==
[[File:SveaFurLogo.png|right|thumb|SveaFur logo as of 2008]]
In early 2006, a group of Swedish [[furry fan]]s{{who}} were displeased with the options available for Swedish furries to socialize with one another. The only active line of communication was the [[IRC]] channel [[SweFur]] and some felt that they wanted more than an IRC channel to go by. Therby Ratiries got the idea to start "SveaFur" together with Ricadonna who volunteered to host the website.

SveaFur soon started to gather interest and growth. After five months of operation, the membership totaled around 30 individuals, and several [[furmeet]]s have been held in the cities of [[Wikipedia:Lund|Lund]], [[Wikipedia:Malmö|Malmö]], [[Wikipedia:Gothenburg|Gothenburg]] and [[Wikipedia:Stockholm|Stockholm]], arranged by SveaFur members.

There used to be subforums for a [[World of Warcraft]] guild, which was open to any SveaFur member, and for the the [[Anthro World War II Art Bunker]], both of which are now closed.

They also have a section for English speaking furs.

In May 2009 the forum went down and posts from the last few months were lost. The day after it went down, it was moved to another server, and the domain sveafur.se was registered.
Recent activities includes opening an online channel in which members watch and discuss movies and shows together, and creating a Steam group for gaming related events.

In July 2009, the forum was moved to a more permanent server and had a quite needed revamping of the forum structure, adding a few new categories and removing some old, unused ones.

== Events ==
[[File:RagnarPlush.png|right|thumb|The Ragnar plush produced by Alexistar.]]
Two times a year since 2010, once in the summer and once in the winter, there are meets in the city of Gothenburg.

In 2013, a fanzine named [[Furluminati Fanzine|Furluminati]] was made and sold at [[NordicFuzzCon 2013]] and Small Press Expo in Stockholm<ref>http://sveafur.se/forum/viewtopic.php?f=18&t=4867</ref>. A follow-up was made and sold on [[NordicFuzzCon 2014]] the following year, which was longer and featured more artists.<ref>http://sveafur.se/forum/viewtopic.php?f=18&t=5806</ref>

In 2013, the official mascot Ragnar was produced as a plushie by Alexistar and sold to members of the forum.<ref>http://sveafur.se/forum/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=5826</ref>

== SveaFur and #swefur ==

Despite some discouraging from selected [[swefur|#swefur]] users<ref>http://community.livejournal.com/swefur/8629.html</ref>, SveaFur hopes one day to affiliate itself with the IRC-channel, and merge them together. The two have recently started interacting more but still have a long way to go, one problem being that they attract quite different types of furries.{{clarify}}

Chainroaker

176.10.136.120: /* Chainroaker On A Budget */

{{cleanup}}
{{unref}}
__NOTOC__'''Chainroaker''' is the collective name of a bunch of different [[webcomic]]s by the swedish cartoonists [[Sandra Kjellström]] and [[Leon Stekla]]. The name "chainroaker" is an englification of the swedish word "Kedjerökare" which means [[Wikipedia:Chain smoking|chain smoker]].

== Chainroaker ==

'''Chainroaker''' kicked off with the [[comic]] '''"The importance of wearing boots"''', published on a .tk website. The story was about the [[furry]] characters [[Frenzee]] and [[Sondel]], an odd couple who shared an appartment and made their money from slaughtering neighbours and other annoying people and sell the meat to the unsuspecting man at the local meat store. One day [[Frenzee]] finds a pair of nice boots on the feet of a murdered punk kid. He adopts them, an undertaking that makes him and [[Sondel]] accused of having murdered the kid. '''The Boots''' kept on for about two chapters before it was aborted and about the same time '''Chainroaker on a Budget''' was launched.

In 2006 a shorter story taking place in the same setting called '''The Gift''' was printed as a fanzine. This comic featured Frenzee, Sondel, and Sondel's estranged son. It received a good review.

== Chainroaker On A Budget ==

'''Chainroaker On A Budget''' or '''CHROAB''' is a [[comic strip]], launched on the 15th of June 2003, which only ambition was to update every day (although the comic updates became increasingly sporadic), no matter how bad the drawings, or poor the jokes were. The characters were drawn as [[stick figures]] and the gags were mostly of the pee and poop-oriented (or in other ways gross) kind. The authors themselves describe the comic as ''"childish, a tad tasteless and probably preeeetty stupid."''. After a few years the comic name was shortened to simply "Chainroaker", but maintained its old abbreviation '''CHROAB'''.

The main characters of the strip are the authors' both [[fursona]]s, [[Lyx av Sthlm]] and [[Frenzee]]. The comic is about these characters going about their daily buissness ''"which means jumping off cliffs in boxes and poking Santa's balls"''. Reappearing characters are the [[Pubeduck]], the Killer Muffin and Onion Head. Chainroaker has also featured a number of guest artists and characters through the time.

2005 the first CHROAB [[fanzine]] was created, featuring a handful of selected strips (some original, others redrawn). Chainroaker on a Budget 1 was presented and sold at the Swedish Small Press Expo in Stockholm.

CHROAB kept on 'til the 24th of November 2005. The authors then took a break from the strip to concentrate on more serious projects. The comic was continued on January 8th 2007 and the 500 strip was published February 10th.

== The Uber Super Chainroaker Project ==

What's currently going on in the Chainroaker factory is still a bit of a secret. According to the website the authors have picked up the setting of '''The Importance of Wearing Boots'''. Chapter one of this story, now renamed "The Rebeginning", was printed in both swedish and english and sold as a fanzine on SPX 2007 in Stockholm, and was a remake of the first original story '''The Importance of Wearing Boots'''.

Furluminati Fanzine

2014-10-31T23:21:36Z

176.10.136.120: Editorial changes; Sveafur->SveaFur etc.

'''Furluminati Fanzine''' (sometimes referred to as the '''SveaFur Fanzine'''), is an annual [[fanzine|independently produced comic book]] by the Swedish [[furry]] community [[SveaFur]]. It features [[comic]]s [[fiction|written]] and [[art|illustrated]] by various [[artist]]s of the community and is edited by [[Frenzee]].

== Background ==

There had been talks and interest for a Swedish furry fanzine on SveaFur for a long time before the original realization of the Furluminati fanzine<ref>[http://sveafur.se/forum/viewtopic.php?f=18&t=115 ''Tidning?''] post on the [[SveaFur]] [[forum]]s. Dated December 11, 2006. Retrieved ?.</ref>, at least two such efforts had been talked about but without any fruition. The fanzine was finally organized after a discussion about the absence of popular Swedish comic publications like [[W:Pyton|Pyton]] and [http://www.comicvine.com/pox/4050-8099/ Pox],<ref>[http://sveafur.se/forum/viewtopic.php?f=18&t=4862 ''Svenskas serier, pox, pyton osv. <nowiki>[</nowiki>splittad: Den där fapper<nowiki>]</nowiki>''] post on the SveaFur forums. Dated October 8, 2012. Retrieved ?.</ref> which served as an inspiration to create something new with the same spirit.

The general idea of the fanzine is to act as a representation of all the various aspects of [[furry lore|furry culture]] and be accessible for both [[furries]] and people outside the [[fandom]]. This is accomplished by giving all the different artists free creative control as long as the final result can be linked to furries, and while the covers suggest a specific theme for the content, there is no overall theme apart from furry fandom. The only recurring elements between the two issues are the artists, and in some cases their comics, as some choose to create sequels to their [[story|stories]] in the first issue.

An official language has never been decided, most comics are in Swedish, while some are in English, a few are intentionally void of dialogue. All comics are in black and white because of cost-related issues.

== First issue ==
[[File:Furluminati-Issue1.jpg|right|thumb|Cover of the first issue.]]
Work on the first issue was started in October 2012 with the deadline of March 2013.<ref>[http://sveafur.se/forum/viewtopic.php?f=18&t=4867 ''SveaFur Fanzine 2013''] post on SveaFur forums. Dated October 13, 2012. Retrieved ?.</ref> The final product was sold at [[NordicFuzzCon 2013]] and [http://sv.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stockholms_internationella_seriefestival Stockholms internationella seriefestival]. The cover was an [[W:illuminati|illuminati]] inspired design with a SveaFur twist, which was originally designed as an embroidered patch sold to members of the forum.<ref>[http://sveafur.se/forum/viewtopic.php?f=18&t=5741 ''Märken - Äntligen till salu!''] post on the SveaFur forums. Dated July 8, 2013. Retrieved ?.</ref> The design features the forums [[mascot]], the [[W:Cyclops|cyclops]] [[fox]] '''Ragnar''', as the all-seeing eye inside a pyramid structure, at his sides are the joke deities '''Spökguden''' (''The Ghost God'') and '''Tymor''', which are popular [[W:Meme|memetic characters]] on SveaFur.{{clarify}} At the top is a sausage, which is an in-joke on the forum for greeting new members, "välkommen" (''Welcome'') sounds similar to "varmkorven" (''Hotdog'').

The slogan '''''Fabler för vuxna barn''''' means '''''Fables for adult children'''''.

At [[NordicFuzzCon 2014]], the last remaining issue was sold during the charity auction for 1000 [[W:Swedish Krona|Swedish Krona]] (155.00 US Dollars), with 95% of the profits going to charity. This fanzine was signed by all attending artists ([[Fröken Keke]], [[AndyMcNub]], Frenzee and [[13]]), and is the only one which has been signed by that many of the artists.

=== Content ===

* '''''Tjuvjakt''''', by [[Analon|Alexander Håkansson]]
* '''''Rotten Empire''''', by Fröken Keke
* '''''Mario Tards''''', by [[AndyMcNub]]
* '''''Serien om den här serien''''', by Frenzee

:<small>(A "foreword" by [[Vlad the Impala]] is featured on the back of the fanzine.)</small>

== Second issue ==
[[File:Furluminati-Issue2.jpg|right|thumb|Cover of the second issue.]]
Talks of a second issue started almost immediately after the first issue was completed. Official work started in August 2013 with a deadline of February 2014<ref>[http://sveafur.se/forum/viewtopic.php?f=18&t=5806 ''SveaFur Fanzine 2014''] post on the SveaFur forums. Dated August 18, 2013. Retrieved ?.</ref>. This fanzine was sold at [[NordicFuzzCon 2014]] and Stockholms internationella seriefestival.

Following the positive reception of the first issue, more artists contributed on the second issue, which featured more comics and was close to double the length of the first issue. All but one artist from the first issue returned to work on the second. This year, [[Mondegreen]] helped Frenzee with editing the publication<ref>[http://sveafur.se/forum/viewtopic.php?p=170020#p170020 ''Re: SveaFur Fanzine 2014''] comment on the SveaFur forums. Dated February 10, 2014. Retrieved ?.</ref>.

The cover is inspired by [[W:Satanism|Satanism]] and features a [[W:Wicca|Wicca]] [[W:Pentagram|pentagram]] in the likeness of Ragnar, again with simple representations of Spökguden, Tymor and a sausage surrounding him. Regardless of this, the fanzine still bears its illuminati based title.

The slogan '''''Djurmänniskor utan liv''''' means '''''Animal people without lives'''''.

Svenska Furries Forum

With inspiration from [[DKFurs]]' forum, SFF welcomes posts in English and encourages Swedish-speaking users to respond to English posts in English, effectively giving the forum two official languages.

The forum's welcome message stresses that it's intended as a neutral meeting place for Swedish furries, where no user should have cause to feel unwelcome.<ref>[http://forum.wikilurv.se/index.php?topic=5.0 Välkommen till Svenska Furries Forum], forum post by quoting_mungo, accessed 21 May 2009</ref> The rules document reiterates this.

SFF is hosted on a subdomain on [[WikiLurv]]'s domain, primarily because that was the most community-oriented domain quoting_mungo currently had active and she didn't wish to register a new domain for it at the time. There is a possibility that SFF will be migrated to a new domain of its own in the future.

As of December 2013 the forum is overrun by spambots and there is no sign of real user activity. The last post by the board admin was in July of the same year.

As of August 2014, the forum is unusable. It shows no posts (despite high numbers on the post and thread counters), and posting is impossible.

FurryCon (Sweden)

2014-07-25T16:32:26Z

176.10.136.120: /* Programming */

'''FurryCon''' was a Swedish [[convention]] held 18-20 September 2009 in [[wikipedia:Karlstad|Karlstad]]. The event was held in a social/meeting area next to a cafe, with a shared dormitory in a nearby gymnasium.

110 attended the 2009 event, including a few dealers, about 30 staff, and two [[fursuiter]]s (kirrow, as Tobi, and [[Wolfer]]). The convention was successful, but did not reoccur in 2010.
{{WikiFurNews|Swedish furs gather for first FurryCon}}
==Organization==
The convention was arranged by a number of [[furries]] from the area, organized as '''Spots and Stripes''' (SAS). [[Ringo]] and [[Kirrow]] were originally co-chairs, but due to disagreements between the two and between Ringo and members of Swedish furry forum [[SveaFur]], Kirrow later became sole chair. The secretary is Niklas P., and the treasurer is Andrew (Kit).

In its first year, the convention ran a surplus of 4000 SEK, 10% of which was contributed to its charity.<ref name="KirrowReport">[http://www.sveafur.se/forum/viewtopic.php?f=27&t=798&hilit=FurryCon&start=165#p25932 Post to ''FurryCon i Karlstad''] - kirrow (21 September 2009)</ref> Prices were 150 SEK with dormitory access, 100 SEK without, or 50 SEK for a one-day ticket.

== Programming ==
FurryCon's programme included [[fursuit bowling]], a café, a combined dealer's room/video game area, a drawing area, movie screenings and an ear and tail construction workshop. [[mickel]] also offered to run a [[role-playing]] campaign,<ref>[http://forum.wikilurv.se/index.php?topic=11.msg44#msg44 SV:FurryCon i Karlstad], forum post by mickel, accessed May 20 2009 ([http://translate.google.com/translate?js=n&prev=_t&hl=sv&ie=UTF-8&u=http%3A%2F%2Fforum.wikilurv.se%2Findex.php%3Ftopic%3D11.msg44%23msg44&sl=sv&tl=en&history_state0= English translation])</ref> and several games were on offer through a "loan" system. Party and group games such as [[Wikipedia:Mafia (party game)|Mafia]] were also popular. Most events occurred on Friday night and Saturday.

The event's rules state that no drugs - including alcohol - are allowed at the convention. Adult material was also restricted.

== Charity ==
The convention collected money for [http://www.djurskyddetkarlstad.se/ Djurskyddet Karlstad] ([http://translate.google.com/translate?hl=en&sl=sv&u=http://www.djurskyddetkarlstad.se/ Karlstad Animal Welfare]), a local shelter. At least 1181 [[Wikipedia:Swedish krona|SEK]] (~US$170) was collected, in part through a charity raffle, and two dealers donated 10% of their proceeds from the event.<ref name="KirrowReport" />
