MiDFur is short for Melbourne in December Fur Meet, an event that has been held annually since 1999 in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia.

History
Origins
MiDFur was originally Atpaw's planned December 1999 meet-up of five furs scattered around Australia. From Melbourne, Alpha X-ray. From Newcastle, Atpaw and Sepharen. From Adelaide, TimberFox and finally, from Brisbane, Whyrl.

During the course of planning, 'MiDFur' was decided upon to identify the event and word spread of the small private meet-up. However, as the time of the convention grew near, the founders began to withdraw from attendance due to real-life commitments, until all five had pulled out. A furry named Muse volunteered to step in and take up the reins. Since then, a different furry has organised the meet each year. However, none of the original founders of MiDFur attended the event they set into motion for several years.

Since then, planning of the event has become increasingly open to the public, mostly discussed on the Ozfurry mailing list and SA Furs discussion forum. Four of the five founders did end up attending MiDFur, though rarely in the same year.

Then in 2008, in the tenth year of the event, MiDFur made the transition from furmeet to convention. For the first time MiDFur was held at a hotel, there were local and international guests of honour and other events were introduced, includeding a charity auction, panels and party events every night. At the same time MiDFur was already extended from being a three day to a four day event.

Nowadays MiDFur continues to run as a convention. To date, the charity events have raised over $25,000 since 2007 and continues to have international guests, party events every night for four nights and a constantly rising level of organisation.

MiDFur 2006
MiDFur 2006 was organised by Scrapper and was held from December 15 to 17 with a "plushie" theme. About 55 furs were booked for the opening night feast. The event concluded with the South Fur Lands Binding Party, where awards were presented for different categories of plushies. Two different t-shirts were made available; one of them featured a colour design by Mye.

MiDFur 2007
In 2007, organisation of MiDFur was again headed by Scrapper, with other furs – Byftpup, ArcticPete, and Firey – organising parts of the event. It was held on the 14th to the 16th of December 2007. 127 furries attended the Friday dinner, which broke previous dinner attendance records. MiDFur shirts (featuring art by MistyStriker), hoodies, and lanyards were made available to attendants for purchase.

MiDFur X (2008)
MiDFur X took place 12-15 December 2008;

The partners of Australian Furry Conventions are:
* Pete Smith (CynWolfe; MiDFur chairman)
* Christine Cupit (FoxyMalone);(MiDFur Head of Convention Operations)
* Nathan Cooper (StarShadow); MiDFur secretary and treasurer)

MiDFur operations are still run by the MiDFur board, of which these partners are equal members.

Born in Bangkok, Thailand in 1985, but currently based in Melbourne, Australia, Logan Husky has been active in the local community since 2005. Having studied and worked professionally as an AV technician and in video production, he has brought those skills to use in the fandom in various ways, producing video content for the popular furry podcast, ACTFur On-Air, VJing at MiDFur X, and after producing the MiDFur 2010 highlights video, currently heads the MiDFur video department. He produces videos under Husky Pause Productions, the name taken from an accidental pun from his friend, Little Blue Vixen.

Fursona
Logan's fursona is a reflection of how he would like to see himself. Playing guitar and listening to the likes of silverchair, Foo Fighters and Green Day through his high-school years, his fursona shows that. Around both of his forearms, are the green flame tattoos from Chester Bennington from Linkin Park, and around his upper arms, are arm bands similar to those of Dave Grohl from Nirvana and Foo Fighters. He also has the Foo Fighters "double-F" tattoo on his back left-hand shoulder blade. He's said that if he was to ever sit down and have a beer with Dave Grhol, he'd get that tattoo done for real. It's probably safe to assume that he's a bit of a Dave Grohl fan-boy.

Fun Facts!
Logan went to see Linkin Park in Melbourne on October 14, 2007. Frontman, Chester, came down into the crowd to sing "What I've Done", where Logan was able to hold his hand as he sang. The very next night, Chester broke his arm on stage in a freak accident mid-show, but opted to continue to finish the set.

Logan has in his possession one of Dave Grohl's drum-sticks. How does he know it's a genuine Dave Grohl stick? He caught it at a Them Crooked Vultures gig in early 2010.
