Arkafur was a furry group, based out of North Little Rock, Arkansas, USA. Their goal was to provide an environment of acceptance and fun for all those involved, and accepting all furres no mater their gender, sexual orientation, fursona, or age. They were created on Aug 16, 2010 with just 2 members; a furre couple who couldn't find a group locally that met their needs. The group appears to be defunct as of November 2024, as their main website no longer works, and the link to the Yahoo group doesn't work, either. Arkafur's FurAffinity page is still up and functional, but has been inactive for over a decade, and none of the links there work either.

Arkafur's founding members were Cassandra de Lancret and TheShrink.

Joining Arkafur
Arkafur's rules for joining stood as follows
#All members must be 13 years or older to join
#All members 13-15 must have a parent or guardian with them to attend meets
#All members 16 and 17 must have a consent form signed by their parent or guardian to attend
#Members 18 and older are free to attend the meets
#All Members must meet with at least one of the founding members prior to attending meets. If a member is under 18, they must have their parent or guardian with them.

Interview Process
The interview process to attend Arkafur's meets was done in order to protect its members from potential problem members, however all members are more than welcome to join the Yahoo group and the forums. This interview would be done in a public place, like a coffee shop or other similar setting. During the interview, the founding member(s) would make sure that the applicant understands the rules and answers any questions that the applicant has.

At this time, applicants under the age of 18 may also turn in their consent forms. Only one form needs to be filled in, per applicant. Unlike permission slips for school, these are not limited to just one meet. They will be kept on file by the founding members for reference.

At the end of the interview, the founding member(s) would inform the applicant if they were/weren't accepted. Due to the nature of the interview process, only members were allowed to attend meets.

Acceptance
If an applicant was found to be accepted, they would have been added to the group of individuals who were given the address of the meets. If a member who had been accepted gave said address to or brings with them a non-member or a member who has not been accepted, they would get their first warning.

Rejection
If a member had been approved to attend meets and they are found to disrupt the meets frequently(3 or more meets), they would have been asked to no longer return to the meets. This would be on a warning system manner. A couple examples are as follows (but not limited to) Starting/participating in a loud fight/disagreement or bringing a non-member to the meets.

Warning System
All members would have been required to follow the posted Rules of Conduct.

Arkafur worked on a 3-strikes warning system. These warnings, if no disruption has occurred in 6 months, would be taken off, one warning per six months. After three warnings, the user would be asked to not attend meets for a period, to be determined by the founding members at the time of the third warning, depending upon the disruption that caused said warnings.

Consent Form
The consent form, required by Arkafur for all members under 18, was devised as a way to protect themselves, and yet still allow members under the age of 18 to attend the group meets. This form, modeled after the Mephit Fur Meet consent form is required for all members aged 16 and 17. All members under the age of 16, but over 13 must attend with a parent or guardian. The group is not accepting members under the age of 13, due to the fact that most of their members will be adults, and in order to keep an environment where everyone can enjoy themselves. The only exception to this rule is if a member has a small (less than three) child, of whom they bring with them. Said member is responsible for making sure said child is taken care of and does not disrupt the meet.
