107.191.33.172: removing name not involved

The OzFurry mailing list was originally a Majordomo service created by Chris Baird, with the early Brisbane fans Jagafeh, and Simon Raboczi in April 1994, soon after the OzCon4 convention, as an easier way for these hardy pioneers of furry comic fans in the country to communicate without having to use large Cc: mails to each other. The list charter was to 'foster creative innovation' for Furry Fandom in Australia, like a Meanjin for Anthropomorphics, with the South Fur Lands APAzine being a major discussion topic of the group.

After a long period of off-topic discussion and a lack of willingness by (mostly overseas) members to keep the list's goals, Chris passed the ownership and moderation to Chris Cogdon.

107.191.33.172: correcting data

South Fur Lands is a fanzine published roughly quarterly by Bernard Doove. It has an emphasis on Southern Hemisphere furs, with Australia, South Africa, and South America represented in the content.

South Fur Lands was initially published in 1995 by Jason Gaffney and Simon Raboczi. Bernard became the sole publisher from issue 20, in 2001, though other furs still occasionally help out. Each issue is assembled at a collating party by Bernard and furs who decide to lend a hand. The number of furs who come to these collations range from twelve to sometimes zero. South Fur Lands is available for purchase through the internet at the South Fur Lands homepage or at Second Ed Mailorder. It is also sold at furry conventions.

Five issues were published each year: the four quarterly issues with generally M-rated furry content, and one annual "Sex and Violence" adults-only issue.

South Fur Lands #36-39 won the 2005 Ursa Major Awards for Best Anthropomorphic Fanzine.

On December 17, 2006, South Fur Lands held a "Binding Party" at MiDFur, where awards were presented for different categories of plushies (the event's theme). When MiDFur became a convention as of MiDFur X, the binding party became a regular event until MiDFur 13.

Due to rising costs, falling sales, and lack of interest in contributing, South Fur Lands ceased production from issue #57 (December 2011). However, the majority of the copies were collated and bound at MiDFur 13 in January 2012. All issues remain available through print-on-demand.

The South Fur Lands website was designed by Silverblue and is hosted by Ch'marr.

Westhaven

107.191.33.172: fixed wording

unref

Westhaven is the residence of Marko the Rat and Ristin. It is located near Mount Gravatt, Brisbane, Queensland, Australia. It was originally purchased by a deal-breaking prick, Ristin and Broc in 2005, but Broc has moved outwhen and sold his share to the other two due to work commitments.

To the best of the householders' knowledge it is the first wholly furry-owned and occupied house in Australia. The house name is derived from the street name and stuck due to a lack of suggestions for anything better. It was made official at the housewarming party (aka denwarming) on October 7, 2005.

Westhaven's denwarming was a great success, bringing together most of the furries in Brisbane at the time but it has not achieved the same level of success at being a focal point for furry socialising.

Fandom involvement
Ristin's fursuit was created in 2006 by Oz Kangaroo's "Critter Country" costuming business. Ristin has worn the suit in the 2006 and 2007 Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras parades and at Furry Down Under 2010. Ristin also co-stars in some of Marko the Rat's fursuit videos.

Ristin is a roleplayer and part of Brisbane's small circle of furry roleplayers. (Furry games such as Albedo and Ironclaw are favored.) He is also a recovering addict of World of Warcraft, where he was part of the furry guild Order of the Claws, and Guild Master of Order of the Fang on Bloodhoof server.

Ristin waswhen a moderator on reddit.com's subreddit, /r/furry. He can also be found on several social media sites.clarify
