Wile E. Coyote

Wile E. Coyote is an anthropomorphic cartoon coyote character from Warner Brothers Studios. His name is a play on the words, "Wily Coyote".

His first appearance was in 1949, in the Warner Bros. Looney Tunes cartoon "Fast and Furry-ous".

Wile E. is probably best known for spending his days chasing after Road Runner, trying to catch him with ACME products that always fail; these escapades often end up in him falling off of a cliff, and since he cannot talk, he holds up a sign to express his emotion as he does so. He has, however, also appeared in several cartoons attempting to catch Bugs Bunny and, in these, speaks with an "upper-class" accent, provided by Mel Blanc.
