Welcome to WikiFur! Thank you for registering an account - we look forward to working with you. Let us know if you need any help not already provided. If you would like help creating an article or just editing it, don't hesitate to consult the Furry Book of Style or just contact an administrator. Have a nice day! :-)--Rat 10:32, 5 July 2008 (UTC)
I had stopped writing and editing articles here because two of those I'd written (Ranma_½, Super Mario Bros.) had been deleted for "not being furry". I don't agree with that because the Fruits Basket article (which should be deleted for the same reason) still exists. Of course I should have, you know, said something to defend why they should be here in the first place.
I've since learnt that not all stuff that fits the furry definition is furry and I guess I can live with that now (it's been more than 2 years dammit). So I would only do articles on stuff that's created by furries (although I have aspirations on writing an entry on Darkstalkers <of course it could share the same fate>). Editing existing articles is another story entirely.
Blast...judging from my tone, I guess I'm still hurt over this...
Is there any reason why the hawk article was moved to this user name? I almost moved it back, but upon checking the page history, the reason isn't clear (at least to me that is) --Tai 1 2014/05/25 (UTC)
- The article was deleted for being unreferenced. A copy was moved to Sawblade's user space because they asked for it. Also, it didn't have any furry-specific content; we'd prefer to link to Hawk on Wikipedia in such cases, because otherwise we're just giving users a worse article to read than Wikipedia's. --GreenReaper(talk) 20:16, 25 May 2014 (EDT)
But it appears in the Species stub pages, also you could say that about a lot of species related articles. I'm all for restoring it, and someone (maybe me?) would properly work on it…just saying…--Tai 1 20:25 2014/05/25 (UTC)
- We do say it for a lot of species-related articles! Frankly, we should probably say it for more - you're welcome to nominate similar stubs for deletion. If you would like to recreate the article with content actually relevant to furry fandom (like famous anthropomorphic hawk characters in art and literature, discrimination against hawks in fursuit games, etc.), you're welcome to do that, too. Basically, look for things that wouldn't make it onto Wikipedia. --GreenReaper(talk) 20:38, 25 May 2014 (EDT)
I was planning to do a redirect from Michael Vega to Miu but the redirect was deleted (since 2010 according to the delete history. According to his page he is Michael Vega. I don't want to include it in the Miu article, but I think the redirect would be fine, at least it would get rid of the red link for Michael Vega. Tai 1 (talk) 20:19, 17 July 2014 (EDT)
- Access the Miu article, hit edit, read the Curator's note for editors why there's no redirect at this time. Hope this helps. - Spirou (talk) 23:51, 17 July 2014 (EDT)
Thanks for the heads up.
We have a specific checkbox for that; its use means that people don't get email about such edits. While your edits are appreciated, a more specific explanation in the edit summary is still appropriate so that other editors don't need to look at the diff in recent changes or the article history to tell what you did. --GreenReaper(talk) 20:41, 14 August 2015 (EDT)
- Ah…I see. It's just that I've never gotten flak for doing that before. Tai 1 (talk) 20:48, 14 August 2015 (EDT)
