Affinity code?

When you added "Affinity code" to Furry code article, were you thinking of the code at furaffinity.net/encode/ ? --EarthFurst 22:12, 12 May 2008 (UTC)

Quite correct =) Spirou 07:20, 28 May 2008 (UTC)

4chan.eu

4chan.eu has been proposed for deletion. You can discuss the deletion on the talk page. I'm not arguing for or against deletion, only letting you know because you created the article. --Rat 21:07, 20 June 2008 (UTC)

So, what's to be done?

Should "Naga" instead be replaced with Category:Naga characters, particularly since "Naga" registers quite a few times in the search results? --RayneVanDunem 02:25, 9 July 2008 (UTC)

Actually, that is a good idea (open to discussion by others.) The problem with "Naga" is not that it isn't a good article, more that it is an already set mainstream term/subject for a (non-furry) mythological (mundane) fantasy creature. Wikifur has come upon this problem with other proposed articles in the past (Mermaids, Vampires, Yetis,) coming to the conclusion (more often than not) of their non-appropriateness.
...of course, the Category:Naga characters idea doesn't seem to a problem, more of a solution, imho =) (subject to other users' opinions/objections) Spirou 02:52, 9 July 2008 (UTC)

Hola Spirou!

Mario "Magolobo"

Making redirects for deleted pages

In regards to your recent deletion I would like to leave redirects for navigation from the specific topic to more general topic. The redirects I would like to make are:

MowgliThe Jungle Book TribbleStar Trek Darwin's FoxFox KappaJapanese mythology

I would also like to undelete the article history so the option is there to copy text to the general topic if appropriate. --Rat 08:05, 24 July 2008 (UTC)

I see no problems on either suggestion, actually a logical step,... As for the talk pages, we normally have deleted them in the past, but if it helps you to keep track of data, I will leave alone until such time they are no longer useful to anybody Spirou 08:44, 24 July 2008 (UTC)

Thanks for fixing up my page. Thanks. Jsut thought it needed some fixings.

Just a dead link report

Hello there, just a dead link report: You should correct the link http://furry.wikicities.com/index.php?title=User_talk:Spirou&action=edit&section=new from wikicities.com to wikia.com at your user-page http://en.wikifur.com/wiki/User:Spirou. Clarification Request

Regarding this, what specific references are you looking for? For example, I can make the claim that the changes I suggested (media liaison, etc.) were implemented, and I can provide the links to back my statements up. Conversely, it would be difficult to provide references to statements Rich claims he made if those statements do not actually exist (i.e., attempting to prove a negative)—and given his history I'm pretty sure they don't, but that's beside the point. Most of this dispute has been on Wikifur. In the interest of avoiding cluttering up the page, if a personal webpage debunking his claims would suffice, that is certainly doable. I've been meaning to renovate my Axiom Of Fandom Enjoyability Page anyway. (And frankly, as I've personally served as assistant media liaison at the world's largest furry convention the past three years, I think Rich Chandler's attempt to take credit for that just goes to show he's all talk and no action.) Just for giggles, I just did a Google Groups search to look for any evidence that press/media liaison was one of the changes Rich Chandler was "calling for all along" as he claims. Not surprisingly, there is none. Man, I hate being right all the time. -=) —Xydexx 08:44, 4 December 2008 (UTC)

Whatever form of reference would suffice. In the event that none is available, prior ones, (old a.f.f./livejournal/websites posts/entries) that would even allude to it would suffice. If that is not even either available, a (non-Archivable) note on the articles talk page could be the best way - Spirou 17:32, 4 December 2008 (UTC)

pe template

Regarding your recent edit to User talk:70.19.71.122, when using the {{pe}} template, don't forget to include the name of the article they edited in the template, e.g. {{pe|Push.tyber}}; otherwise the expansion of the template doesn't format properly. --mwalimu 23:11, 16 December 2008 (UTC)

Ah, my bad,... I assumed it would automatically insert the name of the article in question - Spirou 04:11, 17 December 2008 (UTC)

Deletion request

Hello, I'd like to request deletion of my article. I don't do anything under this name anymore, nor in the furry fandom at all, and I don't want to be linked back to it. If there's any steps aside from this that I need to take, please let me know. Thank you.

RE: Deletion Request

Hello,

The policy page was not helpful. My first post was a deletion request, as well as this one. It should all be logged from the same IP for this account and the account the page was created with, if it has to come to that. That's all. Thanks.

Dog of Heaven different from Tomas

Dog of Heaven =me = Wolfganghm. Tomas is a different person. I used his link to create a different article, since I don't know how to make one from scratch, I use the old ones and redirect them to the new articles i make. (If there is another way, please tell me.)

Oh, okay, it makes sense why, Thanks =) One way you could do create a new articlw is to search for name/person/item: i.e "Icemaker" in the search engine. "Icemaker" will appear on red. Click on the red link, and that will open the window for "Icemaker", edit, preview and post. Hope this helps - Spirou 22:55, 18 March 2009 (UTC)

Removal from WikiFur

I would like you to contact me whenever you can so that I can have some hope in getting my name and entire existence removed from WikiFur. It would be appreciated.

Reverts/banning on "Yawg" article

Hey there Spirou.
Recently you reverted some edits on the article Yawg and banned the author due to "Inserting nonsense/gibberish into pages". Of course I can understand, that stuff written by anonymous users must be handled with care, but I think it was far from "gibberish" or "nonsense".
Asides that, it was written by Yawg himself (http://www.furaffinity.net/journal/703714/) but well, that's a thing you couldn't know. I just think that the content was in no way nonsense but in the worst case "unconfirmed". Maybe the changes should be restored again due to this.
Yeah, that's all, no offence meant, just wanted to point out I don't see a reason for that reaction on something that was actually, written by Yawg or not, a contribution and by far not spam. That's all, have a nice day.
Greetings, RealZero 13:23, 16 April 2009 (UTC)

No problem, my fault then. The removal of the working VCL link and insertion followed by deletion of data from an open, unknown IP indicated the possibility of someone vandalism the article in question. Apologies to Yawg for the misunderstanding. Will revert article to the last edit - Spirou 20:36, 16 April 2009 (UTC)
Left a note on his Furaffinity account too, explaining the reasons of the case - Spirou 21:00, 16 April 2009 (UTC)

User talk:68.183.71.41

The edit made by User:68.183.71.41, i.e. this edit to Foofers, does not obviously appear to be vandalism. Although there was some blanking of content and reverting it is reasonable enough, it seems to fall well within the boundaries of "assume good faith", as it may have been someone (possibly Foofers himself) removing some of the more frivolous content. I've changed the dv to an anon-ask, as it seems more fitting in this case. --mwalimu 20:49, 20 May 2009 (UTC)

Agree on your observation and action, I was thinking if that was the case instead of a minor case of vandalism. wrong choice on my part =P - Spirou 02:09, 21 May 2009 (UTC)

Users blanking their own talk pages

I feel there's an important difference between a user blanking an article's talk page, and blanking their own talk page.

The Talk: namespace is for conversation about an article - a public conversation about a public matter that all are free to participate in, and which is not (or should not) be associated with any one user; nor is it under their control. Conversely, User talk: is for a conversation with an individual user. There is an intended audience of one. Once the audience has read the message, it is not critical that others read it whenever they wish to talk to that person.

A "wall of shame" helps nobody. Aside from bordering on a form of harassment, pinning a visible reminder of past misdeeds to a user makes it less likely that they will reform. If the message was painful or embarrassing, even if well-deserved, it will rankle and poison your future interaction with the user. It is likely to prejudice others against the user, even if they have changed. And, perhaps most importantly, it is unnecessary.

We have our edit histories, and can review the user's contributions without the need for a permanent reminder. Archiving or blanking a message does not mean it was not read; indeed, it shows that it has. If it becomes clear that it has not sunk in, further action can be taken. But if you don't give them a chance to change — to wipe the slate clean — you might as well not have sent it in the first place. --GreenReaper(talk) 05:00, 27 May 2009 (UTC)

There was no intention to make anybody's talk page stand as a "wall of shame". Just following the old, non-documented view that public comments, even in user's talk pages, should be protected. A minor comment was made a while back about to leave them up for further discussions about the subject's, or anything relating to her/him, and I took it as a set rule.
If users can now delete their own user's page's talk pages (assuming that includes excluded pages), will abide to it. No intention of malice towards whoever this was related to was intended - Spirou 04:24, 28 May 2009 (UTC)
Ah, I see which talk page brought this up, no problem,... Was a little confused which talk page I reverted back - Spirou 04:29, 28 May 2009 (UTC)

H0rs3 ref section

Was the removal of the small reference section in H0rs3 article intentional or accidental? --EarthFurst 04:01, 7 June 2009 (UTC)

Pluralizing species name articles?

LOL, I don't think we've ever done that. I'm moving Magikwolfes back to its previous name; plus, "-wolfes" sounds gramatically incorrect, and it was originally created as "Magicwolves" before I moved it to Magicwolf. The article still needs help for notability, though. --RayneVanDunem 12:41, 11 June 2009 (UTC)

Wow, Wolfes,... don't come back home at 1:30 am and edit =P,... Point there, do we pluralize or refer to a single individual? (Human),... Hmm, seems like I goofed, my bad Xp - Spirou 15:41, 11 June 2009 (UTC)

User:Bonk!

Hi Spirou,
I'm curious as to the reason for redirecting from User:Bonk! to Bonk. It's not usual to redirect from a User page to an Article, of course. Was a search for "Bonk" bringing up the User:Bonk! page in preference to the article Bonk?--Higgs Raccoon 19:58, 12 June 2009 (UTC)

It was suppose to be Bonk! to Bonk (artist), as several drawings I have seen have the expletive (!) added to his signature. Entered "Bonk!" on search, seems I got directed to User:Bonk! - Spirou 00:08, 13 June 2009 (UTC)

United Space Force sort key?

Wondering about the sort key ([[Category:Second Life|*]]) at the end of United Space Force article. Is it there becase the USForce want to be at the start of Second Life category? --EarthFurst 18:01, 2 August 2009 (UTC)

Removed that sort key from United Space Force article a minute ago. Feel free to re-add it if there was a reason for it being there. --EarthFurst 02:18, 5 August 2009 (UTC)
No, I goofed. Thanks for catching that - Spirou 02:33, 5 August 2009 (UTC)
