Furry Hall of Fame

Umm, I think they're the same thing . . . the one currently at "USA" was created in Australia (MiDFur is in Melbourne) and has to date only been announced at that convention - although its chairman has travelled to award it. ALAA has a separate Hall of Fame (which should probably be covered under its topic). Indeed, CynWolfe would probably object rather strongly to it being described as "US based" given how much has been spent on it solely by Australians. :-) --GreenReaper(talk) 23:08, 31 October 2012 (EDT)

Didn't know about this award myself until some Midfur staff members and Australians artists working on it (i.e. Paul Kidd), found out about the ALAA's counterpart (and indicated that they were not one and the same). As per the Australian people in contact right know, the Furry Hall of Fame is an Australian event held every year at Midfur still (with set nominees scheduled for their Dec awards). Nobody (so far) have told them that ALAA as taken over the overall duties of the (general) Furry Hall of Fame, surprising enough to them specially since some of the winners and appointees were discussing next years (2013) Midfur awards.
(Late Skype correction): This came about because somebody did inquired what was going on, and was told by ALAA that it (the original Australian awards) should be more of worldwide event like the Ursa Major Awards. When she stated that the Ursa Major awards were only held in continental US' cons, she received no further reply. As somebody just stated, "the MidFur organisers are extremely hurt and bewildered by it all of this", and to contact Pete S. (you know who). So far there 13 people involve in the Australian ceremony online (Skype, FA notes, emails), and asked me to put up the Aussie version up, as, so far, they are under the auspices that these are two, parallel running awards.
Let me change last comment. No, they are contacting other members, and they surprised or confused. Either this is a mix-up or a total breakdown on communications. They will be taking care of internal connections, they asked me to contact Mr. Pete S.,... If you can help on this,...
Just making an article, Green, as more often than not a bouncy betty.
Late in: No, is nothing new, being going on for a few months it seems, something about the Dorsai's controversy and how US cons deal or don't deal with things (?) brought this back to the discussion arena, and I was asked to create an article to differentiate (Some know me for who I'm). Now everybody is, well... Anyways... - Spirou 23:58, 31 October 2012 (EDT)
There are two parallel running awards . . . but only as of the end of September, when the ALAA Hall of Fame was announced. The differences between the two awards are spelt out by Fred in the linked Flayrah article.

User talk:Spirou/Archive10
The purpose of the ALAA Hall of Fame is to honor the creators and “stars” of anthropomorphism. The purpose of the Furry Hall of Fame is to honor the creators and “stars” of Furry Fandom. There is no overlap, and the two awards should not be mistaken for each other

User talk:Spirou/Archive10
The only one called "Furry Hall of Fame" is the Australian one, so it should be at that title. The ALAA Hall of Fame might be worth a hatnote on that article, for anyone who comes looking for it. --GreenReaper(talk) 00:10, 1 November 2012 (EDT)
Alright, to help the people that are now watching me do this while talking on them from Australia i Skype (keep it down!), there is then the Australian, 2007 Midfur created/held Furry Hall of Fame honors the creators and “stars” of Furry Fandom, while the September 2012 USA announced ALAA Hall of Fame honors the creators and “stars” of anthropomorphism. If correct, will adjust the "Furry Hall Of Fame" article to distinguish the differences.- Spirou 00:51, 1 November 2012 (EDT)
AllRightieThen,... Since all comms have now gone dead or offline since the edit, I guess everybody got what the wanted (pulls pin back in) - Spirou 03:37, 1 November 2012 (EDT)

Exclusion

Hello, just noticed you left a note on my talk page. Privacy was the ultimate concern, as well as outdatedness. I would be grateful if you could exclude my page. Best regards, Raerik.

9/11 Furry Status Page‎

Are you sure that DesertCat ("aka Walter Senge") on the 9/11 Furry Status Page‎ is the same person as DesertCat ("aka Jennifer KE")? There seems to be a gender difference there. (OK, not impossible.)--Higgs Raccoon 14:55, 14 February 2013 (EST)

The article had both name listed as being the same person at one point. As a furry person, only "DesertCat+Jennifer+KE" yields any results outside Wikifur, none with "Walter Senge". Are the one and the same?. Not sure, could be, like you said, "not impossible", but there is no reference to back it up either way, hence the "Unref" tag - Spirou 02:57, 15 February 2013 (EST)

Sparky1575

I'm just gonna ask you to not revert my article back everytime I change it back, I'm actually using what you've put as a base for a new article and in the meantime I'm using what's been put there as filler. Surely you can understand this? —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Sparky1576 (talkcontribs) .

Here is a better idea. You don't ask any editor, colleague or not, what to do or not, with any article on Wikifur, and if you are creating a new version of your article based on the template currently in place, use your User Page or the Sandbox to test it in, then when you are satisfied with it, copy/paste it in the current article. Hope this helps - Spirou 20:09, 31 March 2013 (EDT)

Liko

Just would like to say thanks for locking my article. I don't know who keeps stalking it and putting in misinformation, but hopefully this will make them cease. My only actions on the article were reverting malicious changes. Again, thanks. - Liko 00:57, 22 april 2013 (EDT)

Password

Been doing some detective work on WikiFur users and did you know "augustus" is an old password of yours? Come visit Encyclopedia Dramatica and say hello to Schnookums. Don't need to b& until I actually do something. Schnookums 04:11, 19 May 2013 (EDT)

Formatting

You removed the entire paragraph about Bukkit. I know that wouldn't have been intentional, as it contained no private information and substantially expanded on the earlier statement that his actions are more akin to a black hat hacker.

Yes, and that was unintentional. Unfortunately, the article is now out of control, format wise, and the addition of the once before request NOT TO include personal data is not helping. The article will be temp protect until I go once over again - Spirou 11:55, 23 May 2013 (EDT)

Proposed deletion‎ policy

Your input at WikiFur talk:Proposed deletion‎ or directly on the proposed policy page would be really helpful, if that's something you would like to take part in, since you do a lot in Category:Candidates for deletion. -- Sine 01:24, 27 May 2013 (EDT)

Recent edits

Excuse me, was there any particular reason my most recent edit was reverted? As I stated, "Removed because source link 15 leads to a dead URL, and source link 16 makes no mention of the subject of the article, and is therefore pure speculation." As it is, the current sentence is currently speculative and slanderous, and I merely figured it wasn't in the Wiki's best interest to have something like that in there. --72.94.207.149 20:32, 29 May 2013 (EDT)

Please see edit reason for the May 29, 2013 revert - Spirou 20:37, 29 May 2013 (EDT)
Well, it's only slander if it's not true. Given that your IP traces to Bryn Mawr, just south of Philadelphia, I'm not entirely convinced that the edit was made in WikiFur's best interests. That said, we could always ask Dragoneer et. al. if they were talking about the subject of that article, if that would clear things up. --GreenReaper(talk) 23:15, 29 May 2013 (EDT)

I bring her up for her possible mediation, you know, bro, via communications skills, which she is quite sharp about.

Interesting, I thought that my position here was more of a somewhat-disliked (or, at best, barely-tolerated) nuisance who only begrudgingly got privs due to editing so often. At least one person values my time here!

Seriously though: I try to make a habit of thanking people who sincerely compliment me, so, thanks.

Otherwise, can you explained the context of what happened? Equivamp - talk 21:38, 30 May 2013 (EDT)

Never seen you do anything detrimental, you help with almost any situation here, and people can talk to you back and forth about any matter. Why would you be a problem?. So you are an EDitor; you made no bones about that you were one, so no big deal if you are a normal Human being likewise (yes, some "people" have a problem with the EDitor part, but some "people" have being more of a problem than some EDitors themselves).
What happened?: No.Bloody.Clue. Tl;dr?:
  • Me: (*Editing*)
  • Somebody: "I got your Second Life password!. See ya!. GreeReaper?, Takeout!."
  • Me: "hello?"
  • Somebody: "*creates User Page* "No, no, don't ban me just yet!"
  • Me: "okay?"
  • Somebody: "Look, this is me in ED!"
  • Me: "alright"
  • Somebody: "Look, I got your info in here!"
  • Me: "anytime. have fun"
  • Somebody: (...)
  • Somebody: "SOMEBODY DEMOD THIS N*GGER SPIROU (vandalism)!"
  • Me: "Uh, relax"
  • Somebody: "N*GGER N*GGER N*GGER N*GGER F*GGOT N*GGER N*GGER N*GGER N*GGER (Vandalism) N*GGER N*GGER (vandalism)!"
  • Me: "Hmm, I think that bringing your fellow EDitor Equivamp may help on this situation"
  • Somebody: *Sound of screeching tires" "She has been doxed and is underage!"
  • Me: "I'm only suggesting her for advice and assistance; bro, not because of her sex or age"
  • Somebody: "SHE IS UNDERAGE! Have you no DECENCY?!. She!, Underage!, Underage!, Underage!"
  • Me: "But,..."
  • Somebody: "N*GGER N*GGER (Vandalism) N*GGER N*GGER N*GGER N*GGER N*GGER N*GGER (Vandal) F*GGOT N*GGER N*GGER (vandalism)!"
  • (*Somebody Proxy banned by fellow Curator*, *Clean and mop up, put articles back on shelves*, *Continue editing*)
"...and that's the last thing I remember, officer". If you find out someday what the bollocks was that about,... Actually, Equivamp, don't worry. It didn't make sense the first time, I don't think the real rationale would many any more real sense either /=) Spirou 22:31, 30 May 2013 (EDT)

Hm, interesting that they pretended not to know me even though we've talked on ED's article about me, on EDF2, and on the irc.

Oh, and full disclosure, I would not have told you to "F off" had you asked for me to mediate. I have administrative privileges and therefore duties, and if one of those is to be some kind of ED/WikiFur PR Department that's fine with me haha. Equivamp - talk 19:07, 31 May 2013 (EDT)

"Hm, interesting that they pretended not to know me even though we've talked on ED's article about me, and on the irc." Odd. *Shrug* I really can't tell what was going through his mind, or what the whole thing was about. Not your typical "vandalism" episode. Was it a dare?, an ED initiation drive-by trolling?, ED merit badge time?, a... oh, whatever, not an issue anyways.
"Oh, and full disclosure, I would not have told you to "F off" had you asked for me to mediate." Naw, sorry Equivamp. That's was just an aside generalized comment of how sometimes you want to get some somebody involved on a matter, and they could reply with"dude, don't get my involved in this ongoing clusterf*ckery. This is a dance for two, and I wasn't invited to it." Spirou 19:59, 31 May 2013 (EDT)
