Lingual accounts[edit]

Hello, i'm new here and i'm wondering that i'm just registrated at the english WikiFur Page but not on each other language page. How come there's my user name not given? --Saviour1981 23:30, 18 July 2010 (UTC)

For now, you will need to make separate accounts on each wiki that you wish to edit. Because the English WikiFur and several other languages moved from Wikia to its own server, while others were created on the server to start with, each language has its own user database. We hope to use Wikipedia's solution for this (CentralAuth), but we are waiting for the next version of the MediaWiki software to try it. The developers have made several changes to the shared login extension, and the current version will not work on the current released version of MediaWiki, only on Wikipedia's internal version. --GreenReaper(talk) 00:52, 19 July 2010 (UTC)

Just wanted to welcome you to WikiFur! I'm pretty new here, too, but I'm learning my way around. We hope you'll be active in helping to edit the site, for WikiFur is truly the product of the community's hard work. Don't be afraid to be bold and jump right in. Help is readily available should you need it. The Furry Book of Style will help you get to editing in no time, and we have good administrators who are willing to help if you need it. Thanks for joining! --CodyDenton 07:03, 20 July 2010 (UTC)

No language interwiki on WikiFur?[edit]

i'm registrated on english WikiFur but can't switch over to the german version. Why not? Isn't there a so called Interwiki connection? Do i have to register of a new for the german version? --Saviour1981 01:20, 27 November 2013 (EST)

WikiFur does have langauge interwikis, but does not have CentralAuth or a shared user database. You have to register a separate account. If you use the same username and password, it will be automatically linked if we do enable CentralAuth in the future. --GreenReaper(talk) 01:24, 27 November 2013 (EST)
That's fine. Thank you for taking some time and have a nice day :) --Saviour1981 01:26, 27 November 2013 (EST)
