Hi there, Rat - welcome to WikiFur! Thanks for your contributions so far - let me know on my user talk page if you need any help not already provided. :-) --GreenReaper(talk) 07:28, 27 Aug 2005 (UTC)

hey[edit]

i have an account, just forgot to login, whoops. --Chomperz 02:04, 26 July 2007 (UTC)

Napping Cat's Dream[edit]

Hi, Rat...it's definitely Psychedelic Avatar, both capitalized. (My fuzzy alter-ego happens to be #326.  :) Carl Fox 01:35, 24 Sep 2005 (UTC)

Misinformation[edit]

I think User:24.20.194.136 is adding misinformation (all the edits about North Star Kung Fu). -- Rat 09:51, 24 Sep 2005 (UTC)

Yes, it does seem to have been a little odd. Someone trying to perpetuate an in-joke, I believe. Thanks for taking action. --GreenReaper(talk) 17:10, 24 Sep 2005 (UTC)

Whoops . . .[edit]

Sorry! We can always make a Rat (notthatperson) if you want. :-) --GreenReaper(talk) 04:19, 2 Oct 2005 (UTC)

New tabs[edit]

Welcome to WikiFur:Administrators! I noticed your recent reverts, and I thought it might be best to let you deal with that sort of thing yourself, if needed. You may notice a few new tabs along the top, and some other changes around the site in relation to user blocking, rollbacks and the like. I suggest you look over this page if you're not familiar with how to use them. Hopefully you won't need them much, but they're there for when you do. Use them wisely! :-) --GreenReaper(talk) 05:43, 25 Oct 2005 (UTC)

"include"[edit]

Thanks for catching that. :-) --GreenReaper(talk) 04:29, 8 Nov 2005 (UTC)

10k edits[edit]

Thanks for giving your attention to the wiki - I'd like to recommend the 'preview' button, however. -- Siege 15:11, 25 Nov 2005 (UTC)

Recent vandal[edit]

Thanks for catching that one. In that sort of situation (multiple page blanking or simple vandalism) you can add "&bot=1" to the URL of the user's contribution page and then reload the page with that URL. This will make it so that the contributions effectively disappear on recent changes when you roll them back (unless you look for them by turning bot actions on) and the only thing that appears is the ban. :-) --GreenReaper(talk) 16:38, 26 January 2006 (UTC)

In response to Rat: Yes, there wasn't much of a point to it, more of a dare and being an on the whim action. I'm sure you can guess why it was done, with his background, though I agree it was rude and I apologize. --Nytwolf

Recent vandal[edit]

Thanks for helping out with that spate of vandalism. Not sure what was up with that. --GreenReaper(talk) 22:40, 11 April 2006 (UTC)

Article Illustrations[edit]

Hello. I noticed that you requested artists to create art to add to WikiFur articles. I wish to say that if you wish, you may let me know if there are any articles you think need art, and I will be glad to draw something for them. Also, if I do happen to see any unillustrated articles, may I notify you to show whether what I add is acceptable? I am not sure of what the guidelines are for art at this time; however, so I shall need to find that out. -- Seamora(talk) 10:35, 11 May 2006 (UTC)

Here are some suggestions. This is not an exclusive list, and if you find another article where you can contribute art that meets the requirements I set out are User:Rat, that is still good.
Yes, you may use my talk page to talk about your proposals for art.
--Rat 18:27, 11 May 2006 (UTC)

Could you expand on "Must be released under a license acceptable to the WikiFur community."? Is "Artist approves use of this image on WikiFur" such a license, for example? I was thinking we could do with such a tag, with a number of people uploading their own art but not explicitly releasing it in some other fashion. -- Sine 23:36, 11 May 2006 (UTC)

That's a good question, and maybe we should have community input over what licenses are acceptable. The main thing is that since I'm collecting these images for WikiFur, is that WikiFur's permission to use them is explicit, not implicit. --Rat 00:16, 12 May 2006 (UTC)
Uploading them to WikiFur seems pretty explicit permission to me. ;) -- Sine 00:19, 12 May 2006 (UTC)
I think that a tag would be highly useful, something like {{ArtBounty|ArticleName}} which both put the artwork into a particular category and provide text linking to the bounty pages and the article page concerned.
As for the licensing, it might be a good idea to consider future applications of the images. For example, if we want to actually publish WikiFur articles in the future it makes sense to require a license that permits that, or have that be a specific term of the agreement. You could argue that this was implied in uploading the artwork, but you could also find that this didn't work out legally. --GreenReaper(talk) 06:42, 12 May 2006 (UTC)
If just uploading them is explicit permission, then getting them to express it in text form as well wouldn't hurt. And getting them to express it in text form also allows them to express conditions like whether they require to be attributed for their work, and whether their work can be used outside WikiFur. --Rat 08:15, 12 May 2006 (UTC)
How does the wording on Image:Kdelany-grayfox.jpg look to you? -- Sine 18:46, 13 May 2006 (UTC)
I think it's okay. --Rat 19:04, 13 May 2006 (UTC)
I just thought of one more thing. I'd want to make sure that the terms really are the will of the artist. --Rat 02:48, 14 May 2006 (UTC)
Absolutely. Pick a method! -- Sine 03:42, 14 May 2006 (UTC)
She's local, so I could just ask her. Is she claiming the bounty? --Rat 04:33, 14 May 2006 (UTC)
She contacted me and she is claiming the bounty. In my original rules, Rule #1, is that the artist has to upload their own work, but I'll waive it this time to avoid silliness like the pictures getting deleted and re-uploaded. The pictures in question are:
I therefore owe Katherine $30 Canadian, and she can contact me to collect her bounty.
--Rat 03:43, 15 May 2006 (UTC)

Subcategories[edit]

As you saw, having someone into a subcategory doesn't keep them in the supercategory. I kinda assume that most forsuit makers are furusiters as well, although I guess technically this might not be the case. :-) --GreenReaper(talk) 22:55, 16 May 2006 (UTC)

Patrolled Edits[edit]

Since you're an admin, you can automatically mark edits that you make as patrolled. To do this, click "preferences" at the top, then under the "Editing" section, check "Mark edits I make as patrolled" --Rat 22:41, 26 May 2006 (UTC)

Okay, thanks. I never noticed those "other pages" of options before - thank you for pointing that out. --mwalimu 04:24, 27 May 2006 (UTC)

Illustrations from Sugandya[edit]

Hello, I just wanted to double check with you before I got started. From what I took, one could illustrate any article (save for stubs) that lacked an illustration. Is this so? For example, I picked Invertebrate, Kemono, Otherkin, and Kitsune; none of which (at the time of this posting) have no images for themselves that are exclusive to Wikifur. I want to make sure I have it clear. :) —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Sugandya (talkcontribs) .

Yes, that's correct. You could illustrate any of those.
Hello again. I got around to producing and adding these two: Invertebrate and Kemono for now!--Sugandya 03:01, 28 July 2006 (UTC)
Looks good. Use the "e-mail user" or other contact to get a hold of me in private. --Rat 03:03, 28 July 2006 (UTC)
I tried to email you, but that link says no adress has been specified. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Sugandya (talkcontribs) .
Try now. I know I've had e-mails through it before; I don't konw how it got turned off. --Rat 03:20, 28 July 2006 (UTC)

Illustrations from DeVandalizer[edit]

RainRat, thanks for your generous offer. I have completed several illustrations for your approval. They are on the pages: Fursona, Furgonomics, Furry art, and Draconid. Please let me know if any of these aren't up to specification. -- DeVandalizer 09:20, 24 June 2006 (UTC)

Sorry RainRat, forgot to leave my contact information. Please e-mail me at devandalizer@gmail.com -- DeVandalizer 09:24, 24 June 2006 (UTC)
Those look like they meet the guidelines. I will contact you about payment. --Rat 09:33, 24 June 2006 (UTC)
I have recently created a few more illustrations. These are at Fox and Tiger. -- DeVandalizer 18:55, 29 June 2006 (UTC)
Noted. The transfer to my Paypal account hasn't gone through yet, but I will send it to you when it does. --Rat 20:06, 29 June 2006 (UTC)

Deleting redirects[edit]

I would like to discuss deleting redirects. As deleted articles are still saved in the database, there is no need to do it to save disk space. In most cases there's no need to delete them. Even if there's no internal pages linking to it, there are still external links and maybe people who have it bookmarked. I don't disagree with all your deleted redirects. Wikipedia's redirect policy may be a start for consideration. --Rat 02:32, 27 June 2006 (UTC)

I appreciate you letting me know. Could you be more specific about what concerns you, so I have a sense of what to continue doing and what to leave alone? My main concern has been with articles moved to correct capitalization. -- Sine 05:29, 27 June 2006 (UTC)
Well, to pick a recent example there was Zassa of FurryMUCK. It was under that name for a long time, so one should leave a redirect so not to break external links and bookmarks. Moving articles to correct capitalization is good, but you don't have to delete the redirects from bad capitalization to good capitalization, so links aren't broken and articles are easy to find --Rat 05:50, 27 June 2006 (UTC)
I admit, I hadn't considered external links, though I always check for internal ones. As for capitalization, I should have been clearer. I specifically refer to cases where the article was a proper name (a person, usually) and not capitalized as a proper name: John doe rather than John Doe. Similarly with typos and misspellings. -- Sine 05:59, 27 June 2006 (UTC)
If there's an external link to an incorrectly-capitalized page ie [1], the wiki does not take them to the correct page unless there's a redirect. If a misspelling is common, I would keep a redirect from the incorrect to the correct, but if it's an unlikely typo, then yeah, delete it. --Rat 06:38, 27 June 2006 (UTC)

Added article illustrations for bounty[edit]

I've added a few more article illustrations:

-- Sine 01:19, 6 July 2006 (UTC)

Confirmed. --Rat 01:53, 6 July 2006 (UTC)
I just thought of something else. One of the rules is "You must own or have permission to use any distinctive characters." You do have permission to use the characters in KDelany-JustinSix.JPG and KDelany-ShaterriAtRest.JPG right? --Rat 02:03, 6 July 2006 (UTC)

Extinctioners Characters[edit]

Hey Rat, I see you made some corrections to some of the Extinctioners Character pages, thanks, I appreciate your interest and improvements, what do you think of them by the way and do you have any suggestions? any additional character informations? please let me know what you think, thanks - RVDDP2501 20:37, 7 July 2006 (UTC)

I really don't know that much about Extinctioners, having never read it. So I can't really comment on how well you covered the topic. I just corrected some obvious errors I came across. --Rat 20:50, 7 July 2006 (UTC)
PS. I was just experimenting with the references template. It may help keep extinctioners articles looking nice if you use this template. --Rat 21:09, 7 July 2006 (UTC)

RFAI[edit]

I decided to change this page as a Redirect to Raven Corr instead of deleting, so people would be sent from RFAI to the page where the information was moved to. --Rat 22:58, 7 July 2006 (UTC)

Sounds good. I didn't even think of setting it as a redirect. Thanks. ^^ Spaz Kitty 23:02, 7 July 2006 (UTC)

Vandalism[edit]

Hey Rat, RVDDP2501 here, Listen, thanks for the reversion on the my Sly page, just out of curiousity, what driving these people to go around and vandalize pages like this, I mean, this isn't right. I looked up other vandalisms this guy has done and I can't believe this, Myself and other Wikiusers put time and effort into making our article(s) and these guys just show up and take a Sledge Hammer to them, that just gets me riled up, let me know whats up, thanks - RVDDP2501 13:37, 14 July 2006 (UTC)

Hey Rat, have the people responsible for the recent vandalism been banned? - RVDDP2501 01:40, 24 August 2006 (UTC)

As far as I can see at the moment yes. I've been watching Special:Recentchanges, and blocking as I see them. --Rat 01:50, 24 August 2006 (UTC)

Kendareru Neko-sama[edit]

Um, what kind of improvements are you looking for on the character's page? I'll try my best to bring it up to standards. Kendareru Neko-sama 23:19, 6 August 2006 (UTC)

I didn't add the cleanup tag; I just did some cleanup myself. My suggestion is look at some featured articles and compare the style. --Rat 07:37, 7 August 2006 (UTC)

Protecting Furry[edit]

I see that you protected the article Furry. But I am confused by the comment in the protection log. Did you mean to unprotect the article? --Douglas Muth 22:46, 7 September 2006 (UTC)

I did unprotect the article; I just left it so that unregistered users couldn't move it, so it still says tht it's protected. --Rat 22:50, 7 September 2006 (UTC)
Reducing protection but not removing it registers as 'protected' in the log: [2]. ^_^ --Splarka (talk) 23:59, 7 September 2006 (UTC)
Oh, I see. I clicked on the "unprotect" tag on that article and the log message became much clearer. Thanks for pointing that out! --Douglas Muth 00:05, 8 September 2006 (UTC)

Howloween 2005 attendance[edit]

Hi Rat, I've changed the Howloween 2005 numbers elsewhere to reflect your attendance figure. If you're certain this is correct, I'll also make sure Flint Otterhall gets the corrections for his infosheet. Thanks! --Frizzy 04:58, 21 September 2006 (UTC)

That's the information on the howloween_admin list. Unfortunately it isn't public, so I can't cite a specific message. I can't think of anything that would explain that discrepancy.(There were 6 pre-regs that didn't show up(again according to the howloween_admin list), so that isn't it as far as I know). --Rat 05:41, 21 September 2006 (UTC)

Person stubs[edit]

Good to see more person stubs. Thank you for creating them. A few points which would cut down on subsequent edits:

  • Bolded aliases should have redirects to the article
  • "Soandso is an x who lives in" reads more smoothly, and is more grammatical, than "Soandso is an x living in"
  • We have Category:Convention staff

Thanks! -- Sine 18:08, 6 October 2006 (UTC)

WikiFur and fair use?[edit]

Hey Rat, which WikiFur user(s) know most about fair use (in US) and/or fair dealing (in Canada)? (I'm hoping you know) --EarthFurst 06:32, 5 November 2006 (UTC)

I know a certain amount about fair use. Fair dealing, less so (ironic, since I come from the UK, but I didn't really have to deal with it before I came here :-). --GreenReaper(talk) 06:33, 5 November 2006 (UTC)
I know some, but I'm not an expert. I'll weigh in on the topic. --Rat 08:16, 5 November 2006 (UTC)

Art drive submissions[edit]

Just wanted to let you know that I've completed some work for the art drive.

page name changes[edit]

Hey Rat, I just want to say thanks for the page name chages for Miki and Rokko, I appreciate it - RVDDP2501 16:35, 4 February 2007 (UTC)

Hey Rat, sorry but there was a miscommunication between me and Shawntae, He didn't want me to use the adolescent pic of Rokko, so could you please delete - Image:Rokko WhiteEye (Adolecent) by ebonyleopard.jpg - for me, thanks and sorry - RVDDP2501 22:41, 4 February 2007 (UTC)

Image filenames[edit]

Heya. When uploading images, could you see about giving them meaningful filenames? That is there in the uploading bumf. -- Sine 23:24, 24 April 2007 (UTC)

Ok, I have been inconsistent with doing that. I don't see a direct way to rename already uploaded images, but I can reupload them under a new name. --Rat 23:42, 24 April 2007 (UTC)

RedFox Nightfox[edit]

I changed the information on that page because it has inaccurate information about myself. I am no longer on DeviantArt and do not wish to be associated with that website.

Please do not change it again.

Thanks.

P.S.

I am curious as to the fact that someone would even create a page about me in the first place, albeit with only a little information. quite interesting...

Picture deletion / cannot email?[edit]

Log into Wikifur for the first time in months only to find out you deleted one of my pictures (a commission done for me which I had the rights to post). I tried to email you about it but WikiFur complains that I "must be logged in and have a valid email address in my preferences", both of which are true. Sounds like a bug that needs fixing.

Please do me the courtesy of emailing me or at least triggering something that'll send me a notification before you delete something valid like this.

Please revert the article to the version before you edited it so the picture will re-appear. Thank you. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Tugrik (talkcontribs) .

Looks like you've already restored it. Remember to tag the image with what the terms of use for it are.
If you would like to be notified when a page changes (ie. your talk page), add it to your watchlist. Go under "my preferences", and check "E-mail me when a page I'm watching is changed".
I don't know about the user-to-user mail thing. --Rat 07:18, 4 June 2007 (UTC)

Objective Writeup...?[edit]

I'm not exactly sure how you mean by making the article about myself more... objective. You mean abstract? Or controversial? Or do you mean to have more overall objectives to cover in what I explain?

I suppose I'm just not understanding exactly what particular instances you're referring to in the writeups posted which you offered as examples.

Sometimes I just have to be shown in detail; if you want to diagram it like sentence structure, I'll probably follow easier than if you say, "check out these few profiles and do it like that." Cause I'm kinda like, "Do what like how? Am I making the article too personal and biased?"

Just let me know! Thanks! --Kit Karamak 21:10, 15 June 2007 (UTC)

Some other editors besides me have taken a more active interest in the article and you may want to talk to them. Noted examples from me:
"He has two successful fan fictions" -Successful in what way?
"Kit is NOT a vegan." -I don't know why it's stated so strongly.
--Rat 21:28, 15 June 2007 (UTC)

Ah, I see. Both examples are good ones; I appreciate it. I'll keep an eye out for things that need explaining and seem trivial so that I can tighten up the article itself. Thanks again! --Kit Karamak 01:31, 20 June 2007 (UTC)

Added two images to articles[edit]

I've added images to Jackal and to Panther. I believe these qualify for your art bounty, but let me know if there is something I should adjust. -- KDelany 23:02, 27 June 2007 (UTC)

Okay, looks like it meets the requirements. Just let me know if you'd like the bounty immediately or if you'd just like me to add it to my records for now. --Rat 23:31, 27 June 2007 (UTC)
Immediate would be great; I plan to add more images in the future, but that might not be for some time. -- KDelany 02:25, 28 June 2007 (UTC)

Hi[edit]

Renaming article[edit]

Thanks for fixing up TFnet for me. The funny thing is, I kept thinking there had to be a right way to do it what wouldn't lose the history, but when I checked the editing help link it seemed to clearly indicate that redirects were used for correcting article name misspellings and capitalisation errors, so... there you have it, just a newbie pedant, for all the damage that causes. *grin* Again, I'm glad you set it up right! —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Tracerj (talkcontribs) .

The neat thing is, when you use the "move" function in the software, it automatically makes a redirect from the old page to the new page. Right now though, the "move" function is restricted to admins only(sorry!), so if you need a page moved, just ask an admin. --Rat 21:53, 15 July 2007 (UTC)

vanfurs ?[edit]

I was about to start an article about vanfurs LJ, but I noticed vanfurs profile page says “Name: Vancouver Furs” so I was wondering what the article name should be. --EarthFurst 23:17, 7 August 2007 (UTC)

My opinion is that the mention on List_of_furry_LiveJournal_communities is enough, but if you feel you can write something more about it go ahead. You could label it vanfurs or Vancouver Furs (LiveJournal community), or pose the question to a wider group. --Rat 06:48, 8 August 2007 (UTC)

Protect[edit]

Actually, what I meant was to blank the page then, protect it after removing the vandalism.. :) --Cometstyles 10:03, 21 November 2007 (UTC)

Oh you did it while I was typing this..Thanks .. :) ..--Cometstyles 10:04, 21 November 2007 (UTC)

Thanks for pointing out the move tab. Last time I was here, we didn't have that function... Hope you're available for the FC parade this year. --Madius 14:33, 7 January 2008 (UTC)

I was hoping to bring a newer suit than my rat suit this year. Dunno if there'll be enough room for two suits in the van. I'll be in the parade with a suit, just don't know if it'll be my rat suit. --Rat 14:49, 7 January 2008 (UTC)

Name?[edit]

I was just wondering if I could change my user name? Eurodex 22:16, 3 March 2008 (UTC)

You might be able to get one of the Wikia techs to change it for you [3]. Otherwise you can just create a new account and abandon the old one. --Rat 23:24, 3 March 2008 (UTC)

Just wanting to say thanks for the vandal-lock on my article. You can see it was under heavy attack. :) *squeeks* :P

Roman de Renard - deleted image[edit]

Just finished editing http://en.wikifur.com/wiki/Le_Roman_de_Renard_%28movie%29 and spotted that you deleted http://en.wikifur.com/wiki/Image:Renard_Starewicz_01.jpg without any visible reason, reupload or comment on my talk page. Thanks, David/uncia. Uncia2000 19:33, 3 May 2008 (UTC)
(hopefully didn't wipe that concurrent edit there...)

It was deleted because at the time, it wasn't used in any articles. Also, it had no copyright tag. I tried to undelete it for you, but it seems to have only partially worked. You can reupload it. --Rat 19:50, 3 May 2008 (UTC)

...And back again ;)
Just spotted the deletion log:
(Deletion log); 19:16 . . Rat (Talk | contribs) (deleted "Image:Renard Starewicz 01.jpg": unused image)
Was only uploading the images for the article before writing the article and didn't manage to get that done within 2 hours. Trust that's OK to have reuploaded having noted that, but please give me a holler if there are any other issues. Cheers, David. Uncia2000 19:54, 3 May 2008 (UTC)

Darn these concurrent updates *g* You're a busy ratty. thx ^^

I tagged it with the image tag {{screenshot}}. That would have likely held off deletion longer. Probably I also have to give unused images a bit longer of a chance to be used. --Rat 19:59, 3 May 2008 (UTC)
No probs & noted for reference! :) Uncia2000 20:14, 3 May 2008 (UTC)

Help?[edit]

Thanks for correcting some of my mistakes, and could you perhaps tell me how I can re-upload an image? I uploaded the wrong version of an image but unlike other wikis I don't see the 'Upload New Version' option under the image page. I'd also like my signature image to redirect to my page, but the code I used was from another wiki, and it doesn't seem to have worked here. User:Rakyren Rakyren 19:28, 3 May 2008 (UTC)

For uploading a new version I do see an "Upload a new version of this file" in the File history section. As for having an image go to a page besides the image description page, I don't know that that's possible. --Rat 20:14, 3 May 2008 (UTC)

Talk:Straitfox[edit]

I was wondering if you could considering editing your comment on Talk:Straitfox#Controversy_section. I see it as open for abuse if an anonymous person can add (directly or indirectly) unreferenced material about someone else that cannot be removed due to it being a Talk page. Possibly linking to the diff where the content was added or removed would be sufficient for discussion without giving the unreferenced content a prominent place on the Talk page? --Rat 07:24, 22 May 2008 (UTC)

Sounds reasonable. I've removed that portion of the comment and replaced it with a link. --mwalimu 07:56, 22 May 2008 (UTC)

Suggestion for dealing with continuous vandals[edit]

If someone seems to be vandalizing pages even as you revert, my suggestion is to block that user and then return to reverting their edits. That way, it doesn't turn into an edit war. -- Siege(talk) 03:15, 23 May 2008 (UTC)

To-do[edit]

Need any help with your to-do list? ^^

-Afkhideki 13:42, 25 June 2008 (UTC)

Sure, you're welcome to help with any of it. The lists are dynamically generated. The "add person stub" list is in ascending order of size, while the "remove person stub" tag list is in descending order of size. So you'd start at the top, then eventually you'd get into ones where you have to make a judgment call, then you're done, even though the list is still there. --Rat 20:25, 25 June 2008 (UTC)

On animations...[edit]

Hi, I've been wondering; the mature animation sections states that "This category is intended for those works of animation which are targeted for mature audiences, and which don't really qualify as movies or television shows. Examples of works that may be listed here include (but are not limited to) short films, music videos, and flash videos."

But, High Tail Hall, KO Fighter & Lovesaber are listed, all three are really Flash games. While all three are already in Category:Video games, I don't think they should be in Category:Animations at all. 190.59.60.85 23:09, 25 June 2008 (UTC)

I don't think I should make a decision for the whole site. Bring it on on the Talk page for the articles, or on the Category Talk page. --Rat 23:17, 25 June 2008 (UTC)

On animations...[edit]

Thanks alot, I'll do that 190.59.60.85 23:59, 25 June 2008 (UTC)

VNU / Family archive[edit]

Thanks for the vigilance. However, given that my grandfather was the owner of his own portrait(rights) and not VNU, this picture is not VNU copyrighted. It is the copyright of his family. Can you please delisty this picture from the deletion request list? Thanks! Kind Regards 193.113.57.165 20:58, 19 July 2008 (UTC) Teruggeplaatst van "http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Commons:Deletion_requests/Image:J.H.AdeGoeij.JPG"

Newb wolf gives thanks[edit]

My thanks for sorting my page for me. I'm still learning how this whole wiki thing works. Take care!

P.S. I liked the suit you loaned Synthwolf, checking it out was what got me into suiting myself. :p

Reply[edit]

Thanks for the talk page note. Though I'm quite familiar with mediawiki, I'm ignorant of Wikifur's styles and conventions, so I'm just faking it. ANFKL 04:10, 28 July 2008 (UTC)

Hehe, well, just look at what other people do, give it a try, and if you make a mistake, it can be fixed. --Rat 05:56, 28 July 2008 (UTC)

Image without license[edit]

Hi Rat, Could you have a look at Image talk:Full plate armor.png? I know you've done a lot about licensing images. Thank you! -- Sine 16:32, 11 August 2008 (UTC)

He's given a link to a source now, which clearly says copyrighted at the bottom of the page. --Rat 20:05, 11 August 2008 (UTC)

about the article hideki[edit]

this is an alternate account of user:afkhideki, and i am also the subject of that article (hideki). will you please blank it out? i can log in as the other account as well if you need proof (since that account created that article) -Merr 14:57, 21 November 2008 (UTC)

I'll take your word for it. Done. --Rat 08:45, 22 November 2008 (UTC)

Bobskunk.jpg[edit]

Hi, Rat.

Could you have a look at Bobskunk.jpg? You seem to have the best understanding of image licensing around here, and I'm not sure "fair use" can be claimed just because an image was posted in someone's FA gallery. Thanks!--Higgs Raccoon 14:39, 17 February 2009 (UTC)

I say that posting it to a FA gallery doesn't make it fair use. The reason it likely is fair use is because it's using a drawing of a character for commentary about the character, as described by the {{fursona}} template. --Rat 16:42, 17 February 2009 (UTC)

Kenzukafur‎[edit]

Hiya! Since the only thing I can really do about vandalism is revert it, is there any chance you could take care of User:Kenzukafur‎, and the second image he uploaded? He keeps making the same edits to the Fursuit article. --Natasha Softpaw 04:12, 23 March 2009 (UTC)

He's blocked now. --Rat 04:27, 23 March 2009 (UTC)
Thanks :-) --Natasha Softpaw 04:28, 23 March 2009 (UTC)
Good work holding the line - Spirou 04:30, 23 March 2009 (UTC)
Heh, thanks :-P --Natasha Softpaw 04:32, 23 March 2009 (UTC)
I was a bit quicker with the second one. I misread the log on the first one and thought he was already blocked, and didn't look back until later. --Rat 04:50, 23 March 2009 (UTC)

Warm Welcomes.[edit]

Thanks for changing my article so that it looks ok i`m sure that you don`t get that sort of thing a lot.,it`s just that this is my first wiki,Well anyhow thanks for the Warm welcome and i hope to hear from you soon!Sincerly,Foxpelt.

I wasn't the one who edited your article, but glad you liked the welcome. --Rat 22:36, 12 May 2009 (UTC)

Image:Rune.jpg[edit]

Sorry to send this message this way (I don't know how to send PM's over Wikia) but you put a Copyright post on my picture Rune.jpg.

As i am the artist of this picture and i write up the wiki page as a way for people to find out more about me and my work. I can honestly say that I am slightly peeved over this insinuation, but rules of the admin are rules to be abided by. What course of action should i take with the picture in question then? —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Runeaddyste (talkcontribs) .

Well, you are the copyright holder, so how you want to deal with it is up to you. You could release it under a free license, into the public domain, permission to use on WikiFur only, leave it with a fair use rationale, or we could remove it. --Rat 16:55, 1 June 2009 (UTC)

Message from 99.172.132.158[edit]

Thanks for the invite, but I don't need an account. Like I said, I'm the Ramblin' Gnome, hoppin' the Internet Boxcar and fixin' up whatever wiki I can fix! Now, if you'll excuse me, I have to catch the midnight train goin' aaaaanyyyyywheeeeere...

Request for exclusion[edit]

I would like both my userpage and my article at Simon Lameth to be blanked and excluded. Thanks. SimonLameth 05:40, 7 August 2009 (UTC)

I have excluded it per WikiFur:PE. If you change your mind, ask any administrator. --Rat 04:18, 8 August 2009 (UTC)

Thank You[edit]

I saw the trolling you stopped on my page. I'm very sorry I'm putting you through that. A lot of drama has started for me recently, and I hate to see others suffer. You and all the admins here deserve my deepest respect. You are a good person, Rat. Thank you God Bless you, God be with you, and God Speed!!!

Request for Review[edit]

As it's impossible to leave Spirou a message on his Talk page, and requests for review are being ignored on the article's talk pages, I'll once again point out the draft page is now ready for review. —Xydexx 14:59, 21 September 2009 (UTC)

Request For Review[edit]

Once again, the Popping draft page is ready for review. In the continued interest of not wasting everyone's time, it'd be really peachy if one of the Admins could finally resolve this long-neglected issue no later than October 24 2009, 11:59 PM EDT —Xydexx 19:38, 17 October 2009 (UTC)

Request[edit]

can you please remove and lock my article, Aditi, please? thank you in advance. Hooved goddess 12:22, 10 March 2010 (UTC)

Ok, I intend to do it within 24 hours, probably less. Have you looked at WikiFur:PE and none of the alternatives fit your needs? --Rat 16:11, 10 March 2010 (UTC)

Hello[edit]

*pokes Rat* Nice to meet you. :3 SilverserenC 21:38, 28 May 2010 (UTC)

Hello. --Rat 21:40, 28 May 2010 (UTC)
I'm just getting to know all of the admins so I can bug them about any questions I have if I need to. :P SilverserenC 21:43, 28 May 2010 (UTC)
Ok, no problem. --Rat 21:45, 28 May 2010 (UTC)

URL Blocked?[edit]

The URL "furscape(dot)servegame(dot)com" is apparently blocked, making saving impossible.

Can you please fix this? Thanks!

--74.177.69.253 22:00, 4 July 2010 (UTC)

ok, i gave it a try. --Rat 22:06, 4 July 2010 (UTC)

Cenarius image suggestion[edit]

Made suggestion at WikiFur:Images_and_media_for_deletion#Image:Cenarius1.jpg --EarthFurst 04:03, 26 August 2010 (UTC)

Ok, still copyrighted, but it's a screenshot so it more accurately reflects the character. --Rat 04:28, 26 August 2010 (UTC)

merge Laya Eateric?[edit]

Merge suggestion at Talk:Laya Eateric. Hope you will post reply there. --EarthFurst 08:18, 21 November 2010 (UTC)

Lightening you to-do list[edit]

I have added the person stub template to the following articles on your to-do list, simply for something to do and to help you out a bit:

I may do more later, saving for now. --Equivamp 18:16, 4 May 2011 (EDT)

Cool, thanks. They are sorted by size, so you'd start at the top and stop when you think you reach the size where they don't require a modification. But you seem to have figured it out. --Rat 19:03, 4 May 2011 (EDT)
