Welcome to WikiFur! I see you've made yourself at home already - thanks for your contributions! Let me know if you need any help. :-) --GreenReaper(talk) 00:39, 14 Aug 2005 (UTC)

No problem! Great, great project. I'll be contributing more as time allows and directing others to it as well. The pro-vanity page policy is an excellent idea.

GreenReaper: thanks for your efforts in cleaning up newly created entries. I've learned a great deal from comparing my original entries to the improved versions! --Osfer

You're welcome! The more people who know how to get wiki markup into shape, the better . . . --GreenReaper(talk) 05:43, 14 Aug 2005 (UTC)
Is there already a 'beginner's guide' page available? If not I'd be happy to start work on it. Berhaps it could be linked to from the main page? --Osfer
There's the help page, which is linked to on the side and on WikiFur Central. It also links to the guide on Meta. If you think you can improve the help page, go right ahead! --GreenReaper(talk) 05:50, 14 Aug 2005 (UTC)
Have you considered instating a 'ranking' system to indicate users who have contributed a great deal? I'm not trolling for rewards, myself, but as a New Mediast I'm rather interested in how you'd prefer to navigate between the offering of a reward for contribution and preventing people from performing useless edits and contributions to gain a higher ranking. Ranking systems are fairly common in forums and seem to manage themselves, there. --Osfer
There are ways to measure people's contributions, if so desired. You can look at a user's contributions page, which is a link in the toolbox to the left when a user's page or talk page is selected. You can also see what other people have said on a person's user talk pages, or look at the user section of the statistics to get a rough idea of where they stand contribution-wise.
In the end, though, for the people we really want to attract, contribution is its own reward. That's not to say people can't be proud of their contributions, of course, but obsessing over it is probably unhealthy. :-) --GreenReaper(talk) 06:11, 14 Aug 2005 (UTC)

Maranatha[edit]

I was thinking of putting together a template for all the various Maranatha-related content, as there certainly seems to be a lot of it floating around the site already (and even more red links for expansion) and I'm trying to make the whole thing a bit more navigable. Since you seem to be the main contributer to those articles, I thought I should ask your opinion before making any changes along those lines. --Xax 15:34, 15 Aug 2005 (UTC)

I'm not exactly sure how templates work, Xax, but it sounds like a great idea. May I recommend you approach K. M. Hirosaki with the same suggestion regarding his Blue Forest series? I say go for it, but help a doddering young fool and give me some explanation as to how such a template works :) --Osfer
Heh. Basically, they work like any other template we've got so far-- you put a {{maranatha}} on the articles that should have it, and it shows up as something like "(article name) is part of a series on Maranatha" and then some links to other related story info (like Maranatha City or characters or whatever else you think would be pertinent.)
The downside would be that you'd probably have to be the one to keep it updated with all the various information, and also put it on pages that I forgot about or didn't notice. --Xax 16:43, 15 Aug 2005 (UTC)
I'll take on that challenge. Sounds good to me!
is it possible to generate the contents of a category as a list of link? Example: Thre's a template for the Maranatha series, and there's a category for Maranatha characters. Is it possible to reference this category in the template, so that whenever the category is added to, these new entries also appear in the template?

Hello Osfer,

This is in regards to Image:Malloy-icon.jpg. It has not been tagged with a copyright status. This can be a complicated area, so I can try to help if you need any. The Wikipedia Image use policy may give some background, but it isn't policy here.

To deal with this image, there are a few choices:

  • If you are the copyright holder, release it under a free license, for example:
  • If you are asserting that this image is usable under fair use, add an appropriate fair use tag. A very basic summary is that fair use is used for commentary, criticism and review on the image when no free image could be used instead. Some fair use tags are:
    • Logos: {{logo}}
    • Covers: {{Cover}}
    • Comic panels: {{Comic-panel}}
  • If the image is already under a free license, provide information on the license, and tag the image if you can.
  • If you would like the image to be deleted, ask any administrator

To see a list of current copyright tags available on WikiFur, see Category:Image copyright tags If the copyright status is not resolved, the image may be deleted.

Unless you have a question for me specifically, I'd prefer responses on the page for the image. --Rat 06:56, 28 November 2006 (UTC)
