On SL events[edit]

I added Category:Fictional events to Category:Second Life events because most articles which cover SL's in-world locations, particularly Category:Second Life locations, are grouped under Category:Fictional locations. I didn't begin the trend of grouping SL locations as fictional; I'm only following suit with SL events. --RayneVanDunem 00:18, 31 December 2008 (UTC)

But while the locations do not exist in real life (only exist as a series of bits), real people spend real time participating in them, which makes them real events. They actually happen, unlike e.g. PafCon. So they are not fictional.
I do wonder how visitors would go looking for this category, though.--猫夜叉ネコヤシャ 21:33, 16 January 2009 (UTC)
The same can be said about fictional places or locations in online role-playing worlds, since real people spend real time in these areas. An alternative title for this category can be "virtual events" rather than fictional, but this is without precedent since role-playing "virtual locations" tend to be designated under "fictional locations". --RayneVanDunem 05:01, 17 January 2009 (UTC)
Many things abort virtual worlds are without precedent. --猫夜叉ネコヤシャ 19:51, 17 January 2009 (UTC)
