Hi there, Growly, and welcome to WikiFur! Thanks for telling us a bit about yourself. You could probably use the move tab to move that page to just Growly rather than User:Growly, as it's written in the third-person. You might also want to investigate the use of the <gallery> tag, as you have a large number of images to display. You can see how that works by editing The Forest.

Let me know if you need any help not already provided. :-) --GreenReaper(talk) 00:50, 7 March 2006 (UTC)

Heya[edit]

Hi, thanks for commenting on my entry. I really have no idea what I'm doing... I thought I was making a general pedia entry, but guess not. How do I make an entry?

You're welcome! And don't worry, you're doing the right thing by trying things out. *grins*
You were editing on your user page - the bit where by convention you "talk" to people on a personal basis. This is usually used to talk about your wiki work and plans for the future, or whatever - but either way, it's from you (in the first person), not about you (in the third person). It's pretty much exactly the same in terms of editing, but the content is different by convention - compare User:GreenReaper and GreenReaper to see what I mean. It means that people can edit the pages about other people without feeling that they are editing personal words - because that is what the User: page is for.
You can turn it into a entry in the main namespace very easily - click the Move tab at the top while on User:Growly and select to move it to just Growly. Untick the checbox offered for moving talk pages, otherwise it will copy this text as well (normally you want it to when moving pages, but not in this case).
To link the two pages, you can use the {{Contributor}} and (optionately) {{ContributorU}} tags. You can see the first one in use on the GreenReaper page above. Oh, and another tip - if you type ~~~~ then it will turn into a signature that you can use on Talk: pages, like this: --GreenReaper(talk) 01:13, 7 March 2006 (UTC)
To clarify: You'd put {{Contributor|Growly}} to get the right result. And let's pretend I didn't just make up the word "optionately" in the above sentence. ;-) --GreenReaper(talk) 01:21, 7 March 2006 (UTC)

Image:Fursuit21bSMALL.jpg, Image:Fursuit22hSMALL copy.jpg[edit]

Hello Growly,

This is in regards to Image:Fursuit21bSMALL.jpg and Image:Fursuit22hSMALL copy.jpg. It has not been tagged with a copyright status. This can be a complicated area, so I can try to help if you need any. The Wikipedia Image use policy may give some background, but it isn't policy here.

To deal with this image, there are a few choices:

  • If you are the copyright holder, release it under a free license, for example:
  • If you are asserting that this image is usable under fair use, add an appropriate fair use tag. A very basic summary is that fair use is used for commentary, criticism and review on the image when no free image could be used instead. Some fair use tags are:
    • Logos: {{logo}}
    • Covers: {{Cover}}
    • Comic panels: {{Comic-panel}}
  • If the image is already under a free license, provide information on the license, and tag the image if you can.
  • If you would like the image to be deleted, ask any administrator

To see a list of current copyright tags available on WikiFur, see Category:Image copyright tags If the copyright status is not resolved, the image may be deleted.

Unless you have a question for me specifically, I'd prefer responses on the page for the image. --Rat 01:33, 27 November 2006 (UTC)

Image placement[edit]

Hey Growly, just noticed you said you liked the image arrangement I did on your article for Garish so I thought I'd drop you a note about how to do that. Just put the image tag at the very beginning of the section, and it'll automagically line itself up with the text, and that way it forms a nice two-section layout. :) Also, if you ever need any help with the image sizes or whatever, feel free to ask - I'm usually patrolling something on here. --Banrai | talk (27/04/07 ) 0308 (UTC)

Hello! You used the {{Limited_license}} template on these media files, but left out necessary information. Please insert the name of the artist(s)/author(s), the license(s), and the specific terms into the template reference (i.e., {{Limited_license|artist|license|specific limitations}}) for each file. Alternatively, you can review the list of license templates at Wikifur:Templates/Image_Page_Templates and select more appropriate ones. Thanks! --GingerM (Leave me a message) 03:45, 20 March 2011 (UTC)
