Hi Cody Denton, Welcome to WikiFur! Thank you for registering an account - we look forward to working with you. Let us know if you need any help not already provided. If you would like help creating an article or just editing it, don't hesitate to consult the Furry Book of Style or just contact a curator. Have a nice day!

Thanks for your help[edit]

I see that you cleaned up some article stubs I created, and in the process, you showed me a bit about how to properly format things in Wiki style. Please bear with me as I learn.  :-) I'm working on expanding those original articles a bit now, and hope to be an active member of the WikiFur community at large. --CodyDenton 09:10, 8 July 2010 (UTC)

You're welcome. Let us know if we can be of any more assistance. --mwalimu 17:35, 9 July 2010 (UTC)

Stamping out vandalism[edit]

First, thank you for reverting the vandalism made to one of my articles from an unregistered IP. Though I monitor these articles, you caught it even before I did. Which brings me to a question... right now I'm new to WikiFur, but I support the concept and ideals. I'm also online an insane amount of the time. If I were to want to join the edit patrol at some point in the future, is there a "formal" application process (as there is for wiki admins), or can one just jump in and help? Thanks! --CodyDenton 08:28, 11 July 2010 (UTC)

Hi, Cody. There's no formal process for joining those who patrol the recent edits reverting vandalism. This being a wiki, anyone can edit anything, so if you have the time to spare to occasionally glance at the recent changes list, and feel like reverting any vandal edits, then... go for it! I'm sure everyone here would welcome any effort you can put in to keeping things tidy!--Higgs Raccoon 17:16, 11 July 2010 (UTC)
As Higgs said, we appreciate any effort on the part of participants to address vandalism on Wikifur. In a situation such as with the edits to Shimo Fox by an anonymous IP user, we normally start off by assuming that the IP user may be the person the article is about and may wish to be excluded from Wikifur, and we respond using the Personalexclusion template as a first step. --mwalimu 09:16, 13 July 2010 (UTC)
Ah, ok. I think what caused me concern was that it was an unexplained blanking, accompanied at the same time by edits to the Pawz FM page that were not consistent with data posted on the official website (see Talk:Pawz FM). Realizing that I'm still new to WikiFur, I tried to explain my rationale in the talk pages so as not to appear capricious or arbitrary; but being new, I may not know the best way to do something. :-) In the case of an anonymous IP user, then, you'd leave the page blanked and post a Personalexclusion template to the talk page for that IP? --CodyDenton 09:27, 13 July 2010 (UTC)
Nevermind, I see what you did, now. It's obviously time for me to get some sleep. Thanks again. --CodyDenton 10:13, 13 July 2010 (UTC)
Actually, reverting both edits was appropriate, so you did fine in that regard. If it's Shimo Fox and he wishes to be excluded, he'll need to contact us by some means where we can be reasonably certain of his identity. Personal exclusion only covers the article about the person and does not extend to other articles on Wikifur that mention them, such as Pawz FM in this case. --mwalimu 17:33, 13 July 2010 (UTC)

Thank you[edit]

Thank you for adding that introduction of yourself to my talk page. I really appreciate the fact that you did that and applaud how you try to make a comment on the talk page of any article you change radically or revert for one reason or another. That's something that I really don't have the diligence to do, so i'm envious of that.

You made a very eloquent point on the Kaffa Wolf talk page and I agree with you. Technically, I wasn't actually disagreeing with what the IP said, but more explaining what personal exclusion meant, since it seemed to me that the IP thought we were just trying to get rid of the page for no real reason or for lack of notability. I was just trying to clarify the meaning.

In truth, I think the article should be kept as well and I agree with your suggestion of "freezing" it in its current state. Perhaps a permanent lock would be in order for cases such as this. Unless the person wanting personal exclusion has any problems with specific information on the page, they cannot really complain if we make it so no one will be able to vandalize it in the future. (Well, they can complain, but we wouldn't listen to them at that point, because they would be acting ridiculous. :P)

Anyways, thanks. You're doing a good job around here. Keep it up. :)

A point[edit]

He has a point. SilverserenC 18:03, 16 July 2010 (UTC)

Agreed. I'm afraid that offense was taken where none was intended. I've posted what I hope was a peaceful reply to explain why I objected. --CodyDenton 18:21, 16 July 2010 (UTC)

Thank you for the support[edit]

I'd just like to thank you for offering support to my beliefs on the hypnosis article here. I know that although there are some differences (although ultimately minor) to our reasoning, it is quite comforting to see other furs with an interest in re-drawing some of the lines that the fandom seems to have blurred. Rahka 03:24, 21 July 2010 (UTC)

Thank you for taking the time to write! I'm a firm believer that WikiFur should strive to be of encyclopedic quality. Like Wikipedia, it will take time (and lots of edits) to get there, but it's worth it. I just don't see that the two are the same, and I'd rather see the articles improved than merged. And over time, that's what will happen. Please feel free to be bold and make edits yourself, too.  :-) --CodyDenton 05:52, 21 July 2010 (UTC)

Thank you, and reply[edit]

Thanks for your well welcome, and to answer your question, the second life template I made, Links a user's Second Life name to a page name, that way they can use this template if they have a page. --Lokiwuff 06:50, 21 July 2010 (UTC)

Thank you, and I noticed your discussion about it, after I had posted my question. I have no objection to having a different template, I'm interested in seeing what other editors have to say. --CodyDenton 06:58, 21 July 2010 (UTC)
Not a problem, Just wanted to make it clear. I didn't find you on IRC, so I figured you were a wiki lerker like so many of us. I am currently updating a fursona page, a SL page, and any pages that pretain to what I do, like GYC and the likes. --Lokiwuff 07:03, 21 July 2010 (UTC)

Hey[edit]

I like the work you do here cody, keep it up and maybe I wont have to keep such a close eye on you. 83.170.92.9(everyone's best pal ~mitch~)]

Great Minds[edit]

I see you and I both had the same idea of trying to de-tilt Rat's picture of Sairys :-D --GingerM (Leave me a message) 04:53, 4 February 2011 (UTC)

I nearly fell out of my chair laughing. Great timing.  :-) --CodyDenton 05:01, 4 February 2011 (UTC)

Dispute Resolution[edit]

Sweet! A page I can cross off my list of guideline docs to create. Thanks for stepping up and doing this! I think you're right that we'll need to consider which of these processes will work on a WikiFur scale, but you've opened up the dialogue and that's the important thing. --CodyDenton 08:40, 7 February 2011 (UTC)
Happy to oblige. I'm also interested to see if other parties will now actually engage in polishing this process or if there will simply be more drama. --GingerM (Leave me a message) 00:56, 8 February 2011 (UTC)

Hello Cody, I made an new part in the human article[edit]

I worked and made a new part in the human article, and I want to know if you think that is good or not.

Im talking about when humans are show as the opressor race, the most common tropes (Problens and cliches) that i see on the stories, and I also told that this does not apply to only furry stories.

I hope that it will help furries to avoid these mistakes and cliches. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 189.47.6.208 (talkcontribs) 14:30, 15 March 2011

If you want I can also change and create an article only about that thing that I said. Leting your original article unchanged and creating an part for mine info. What do you think? —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 189.47.7.254 (talkcontribs) 15:57, 20 March 2011
