MidwestCougar/Midwest is a furry artist and a fursuiter.

The Characher / Fursona

MidwestCougar, also sometimes known as "Jaycee", is an anthromorphic cougar that was created in 1999 as a character for a small furry MUCK community. Since 1999, Midwest has become much more of a personal avatar rather than just a character.

The Person

MidwestCougar was born, raised, and currently resides in the Midwest of the United States. She has lived in Illinois, Iowa, Kansas, and Missouri. Midwest has a Bachelor's degree in Art (emphasis in graphic design) and is a professional in-house and freelance graphic design artist in the northern suburbs of Chicago,IL.

Midwest discovered the furry fandom in 1999 on a small furry MUCK community. In 2004, she was invited by Kenket and another friend to Midwest Furfest. She has attended several conventions since then. At MFF 2008 she ran her first panel in Adobe Illustrator CS3 and debuted her Hops fursuit.

Conventions and Other Events

MidwestCougar has attend Midwest Furfest 2004, Midwest Furfest 2007, and Midwest Furfest 2008. When she moved back to the Chicagoland area after going to college in Iowa, she became involved in the LAFF group. She has also attended Furconsin 2008 and had spent a short time at a furmeet in London, UK in May 2008.

She is planning to attended Anthrocon 2009.

Fursuit

Midwest is also a fursuiter, owning a black and white Dutch rabbit fursuit named Hops. Hops has a tan and white twin named Barley (owned by Chilly). They both first appeared at Midwest Furfest in 2008.
