The Ultimate Furry Survey 2 is an ongoing survey conducted by Supuhstar to see what the average fur is like. With the each complaint and suggestion from the last survey taken into account, Supuhstar has greatly increased the thoroughness of the survey, as well as its accuracy and ease of understanding. However, this has sacrificed one of the key elements of the original; it is no longer short and fast. The survey ended on January 31, 2011 at 23:59 EST, whereupon the Ultimate Furry Survey 2011 took its place.

Negative feedback[edit]
While it is a very thorough survey that leaves few furs excluded, this makes it extraordinarily long (23 printer pages, to be exact). This leads to certain users with less-than-ideal browsers, Internet connections, and/or computers to either not be able to view it, or view it with computer lag.
This has not impacted the results of one of the final questions, 54. What do you think of the layout of this page?, where users are asked to rate it on a scale of 1 to 10. While the average rating on the first survey was 6.83, the average rating on this one, as of 01:32, 24 February 2010 (UTC), is 6.80 (an insignificant difference of only .4%). This is not be because of inferior fill data, because the first had 142 respondents to this question, whereas this second has 285.
Results on sexual orientation[edit]
Contrary to stereotypes about the sexual orientation of the majority of the fandom, the survey produced interesting results:
Sexuality | Number of Answers |
---|---|
Completely heterosexual (straight) | 113 (26%) |
Bisexual | 90 (20%) |
Heterosexual exploring bisexualism (Bi Curious) | 88 (20%) |
Completely Homosexual (gay) | 63 (14%) |
Pansexual | 24 (5%) |
Homosexual exploring bisexualism (Bi Curious) | 22 (5%) |
Asexual | 16 (4%) |
Other | 6 (1%)
|
No Answer | 18 (4%) |
According to above responses, the majority of furries polled were completely heterosexual, which seems to contradict the fact that the majority of furry pornography is homoerotic. To further investigate, the data can be recompiled as such:
Preferences | Number of Answers |
---|---|
Likes same sex (Homosexual, Bisexual, Bi Curious, and Pansexual, and Others that apply) | 291 (66%) |
Does not like same sex (Heterosexual, Asexual, and Others that apply) | 131 (30%) |
No Answer | 18 (4%) |
With the data in this easier-to-interpret form, one might draw these hypotheses:
- The furry pornography artist in question is interested in same-sex relations
- The artist is playing to the interests of the majority
Results on Religion[edit]
Another statistic shows the large presence of Christians in the fandom:
Religion | Number of Answers |
---|---|
Atheist | 137 (31%) |
Agnostic | 104 (24%) |
Other | 52 (12%) |
Christian, Catholic | 47 (11%) |
Christian, Non-denominational | 32 (7%) |
Wiccan | 28 (6%) |
Christian, Baptist | 22 (5%) |
Buddhist | 18 (4%) |
Christian, Other | 17 (4%) |
Neopagan | 14 (3%) |
Celtic | 14 (3%) |
Christian, Lutheran | 13 (3%) |
Christian, Roman Catholic | 13 (3%) |
Christian, Methodist | 11 (2%) |
Hindu | 6 (1%)
|
New Age | 6 (1%)
|
Taoist | 5 (1%)
|
Christian, Presbyterian | 5 (1%)
|
Greek | 5 (1%)
|
Egyptian | 5 (1%)
|
Islam | 2 (0%) |
Jewish, Other | 2 (0%) |
Unitarian Universalist | 2 (0%) |
Rastafarian | 2 (0%) |
Confucian | 2 (0%) |
Jewish, Orthodox | 2 (0%) |
No Answer | 27 (6%) |
While this may seem to indicate that Atheism and Agnosticism dominate the fandom, one must note that Christianity was broken into subgroups. Below, all Christian answer are presented as one, while all answers that were NOT Christian, Atheist, or Agnostic are grouped as "Other":
Religion | Number of Answers |
---|---|
Other | 165 (38%) |
Christian, any | 160 (36%) |
Atheist | 137 (31%) |
Agnostic | 104 (24%) |
No Answer | 27 (6%) |
Here, we see that "Christian" is much more prominent than seen above, and comes ends up being about 2% more popular than the next highest result, Atheism. Note that since "Other" is the grouping of all unlabeled religions, here. If one views the spectrum of Christianity to be one religion, Christian ends up being the most popular single religion in the furry fandom, as shown by this survey.
