Two Silver Ankhs is an original IP aimed at adult audiences created by Hyenafur, based on a 90 page story written between 2006 and 2009.
The original Two Silver Ankhs is the story of several houses in a fictional world in which Ancient Egypt survived into the modern era, and follows the lives of several characters over a period of approximately 18 years.
Two Silver Ankhs started as a story for Ayame-Emaya's character Baltahzar entitled Balthazar's Lost Treasure, in which the character Balthazar learns that he has a living heir. The story was later expanded upon in 2006 with a joint writing team of Hyenafur and Brandy Fletcher. Over a period of 3 years, the story expanded from a 20 page story to its eventual 90 page format when it was finished in 2009. In 2007, Brandy Feltcher left the project to pursue her own projects. It was determined that the story could make the jump to comic book format and in 2010, the transformation from story to comic began. The comic was originally going to be similar to Anubis Dark Desires amongst other comic projects, where several different artists would work on various sections of the comic, giving readers a different styling for each section. In 2011, Miles-DF was brought on board as the first artist of the comic, eventually becoming the sole artist. When Miles-DF joined a professional studio, the comic was put on permanent hold until a new artist could be found.
Speculation and Rumors
As of 2013, the comic has undergone yet another rewriting phase. Currently, in order to appeal to a larger audience, the author, Hyenafur has been considering a different over all art style and time frame, as well as modifying or dropping the over all adult themes. Several artists have been contacted, however, a replacement for Miles-DF has not been selected.
The story follows members of four houses in Osahar; House Runihura, House Harrab, House Amon, and House Khalfani, and their interactions with one another through politics, love, and war.
Remake and Reimagining
On March 1, 2014, Hyenafur announced that the comic would resume production starting on March 13, 2014. It was announced that the comic had been reworked as a free, weekly, G to PG-13 comic. The original story had been broken down into four smaller parts focusing on a different group of characters in each segment. It was also announced on March 1, 2014, that the previous incarnation was no longer available for sale, having been pulled from Inkbunny, as well as various other sites where the comic was advertised.
