The Daydreamer is a 1994 children's fiction book written by British writer Ian McEwen. It focuses upon a young character, ten-year-old Peter Fortune, who often spends his days daydreaming, including mentally musing that he has switched bodies with his cat. However, he wakes up one day to find out that he has grown up and that he has his cat's head.
