ISD is a furry from England. He is furry, commonly known under the fursona of The Chained Wolf. He has an interest in Sonic the Hedgehog and a number of webcomics. He is also a supporter of Furry Peace.

He currently writes under his fursona. He has been writing articles for FurteanTimes.com from issue 2 to its closure, "usually covering the more controversial furry issues."[1] He has since moved to Flayrah. He is also works as a critic and interviewer for the site. He eventually became the site's editor. One recurring element in his columns is his hatred of the furry comedian 2, the Ranting Gryphon.

Outside of the fandom ISD works as both an amatuer journalist and comedy writer. Wolf is currently working on a comedy book project entitled The History of Humanity: A Somewhat Mildly Amusing Guide to a Now Extinct Species.

He was interviewed in the BBC's "Who are the furries?" article in 2009.

The History of Humanity: A Somewhat Mildly Amusing Guide to a Now Extinct Species is a comedy future history book project currently being worked on by Ian Wolf, better known under the fursona of The Chained Wolf. Set in the far future, the book takes place after the extinction of humans. In the book, furries become the next dominant species after humans.

The book is written at least 1.5 million years into the future. The Chained Wolf, a furry journalist, is the author of the history. The book is split into 12 sections: 10 main chapters, an introduction and an epilogue. Each of the 10 chapters covers a different aspect of humanity:[2]

  2. Politics and Government
  3. Religion and Philosophy
  4. Media
  5. Arts and Entertainment
  6. Technology
  7. Education
  8. Environment
  9. Economics
  10. Sex

Each chapter ends with a segement called "Human(s) in Focus", which looks at a particular human in the chapter's field admired by Chained from various periods in history, from our current past, present and future.

[edit] Recurring jokes

The book contains certain recurring elements. For example, over the course of time, several facts have become lost or are now wrong. The book for example claims that no-one knows much about Adolf Hitler. So little is known about him, that not even Hitler's first name is known. The book also confuses the Mona Lisa with L.H.O.O.Q..

The book also spoofs the sexual relationships of furries. It is normally seen that furries are perverted. In the book, the reason why furries out-evolve humans is because of their genetic make-up which means that they are more diverse in their appearance and physical ability. In order to increase the diversity, the furries have more sex. The increased amount of sex between furries is seen as humans as perverted and leads to a difficulty in the human-furry relationship and eventually war, which the furries win.

The book also makes humorous references to Teesside, where both Ian Wolf and The Chained Wolf live. In Chained's time, Teesside, known officially as the Anarchy of Teesside, is the most powerful, wealthiest and most environmentally friendly nation on the planet. This a comic comment on Teesside today, which is widely seen as one of the worst places in England to live in, in particular it's pollution. This reference in the use of the current nickname "Smoggie" for Teessiders, although the book comments that most furries think the term is ironic as it now clean.
