Further help is asked to bring this template (if approved) to Wikifur standards - Spirou 22:19, 27 December 2008 (UTC)

Furst post![edit]

I'm not sure about the point of this template. It seems to be used to indicate a confusing article where the identity of the subject cannot be inferred from the text, is it? Or is it for when the nature of the subject is unclear? Or is it something else? By the way, the word "identity" in the template name is spelled wrong. --猫夜叉ネコヤシャ 22:12, 27 December 2008 (UTC)

Oops, thanks for the heads up =) and, yes, it is for when the nature of what the subject is (a [comic/illustration/written] Character, a [real] Person, somebody's Fursona only?,) is unclear. Again, thanks for pointing out the typo - Spirou 22:19, 27 December 2008 (UTC)
I'm not sure that we need to get this specific -- I thought the needs-context template was working pretty well for these situations. But I guess there's no particular reason not to.
I'd like to see a more formal if context isn't provided, we'll delete after x amount of day; I've been doing that more or less regularly, because I don't think having a piece so devoid of context it can't be cleaned up is useful. -- Sine 04:00, 28 December 2008 (UTC)
I was going with more of the user identity angle (who are you?,) instead of the context one (what is this?). It would be a more faster way to flag the Op who is he/she writing about in the first place. We have already run on several of this type of articles, just submitting the idea of a specific template for this kind of situation.
I would also ask for some help with the wording and format of the template by a more knowledgeable Sysop or editor (if it passes muster/approval). - Spirou 05:33, 28 December 2008 (UTC)

Request[edit]

For the change of image on this template. I had this image lined up (on the long queued "list of things to accomplish on Wikifur" [...]). I think is more identifiable for what it conveys, and it will leave the question mark image to the Cleanup-context template. Source: Creative Commons - Spirou 22:03, 27 May 2013 (EDT)

I find that one non-obvious, but I'm not deeply attached to the question mark either. -- Sine 23:14, 27 May 2013 (EDT)
At least it will differentiate templates in the mean time. We can add a final graphic next. Changing if no objection, will revert if so - Spirou 00:32, 30 May 2013 (EDT)
Eh, it did look better on CC. =P Will look for a better image, unless somebody has another suggestion - Spirou 00:42, 30 May 2013 (EDT)
Available: One or two, just off the top - Spirou 00:51, 30 May 2013 (EDT)
http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Icon_person_abstract_blue.jpg is quite nice but is it too small? -- Sine 11:10, 30 May 2013 (EDT)
Wikifur template icons seem to be displayed at 50x pixels side by side, +/-10 pixels (a reason I shrank down the interrogation sign). But now I'm not sure myself if that's is Wikifur standard size for all template media. If not, or it is not set policy but it would look better a tad bigger, I can upload a newer one (just need a target size) - Spirou 13:03, 30 May 2013 (EDT)
