Request for history removal[edit]

The subject of this article has requested that we remove the text of revisions prior to 3 September 2010, as well as the redirects to this article, on the basis that they contain personal information that they would prefer not to have available anymore. Failing this they would request personal exclusion. It is technically possible to hide revision text without removing the revision from the history. What are the community's thoughts about doing this in this specific circumstance? --GreenReaper(talk) 04:37, 20 February 2011 (UTC)

Well, the {{pe}} template does say that "Note that to remove incorrect or private info, you don't need to request personal exclusion; see alternatives", and in the alternatives article, it says such information can be removed on request, without needing full exclusion. It doesn't say "except for history" or any other escape clause. So if it's technically possible, my read of the Wikifur policies is that we're pretty much obligated to. I think history can be deleted; I've seen other articles with gaps in their history. I don't know about redirects; is it possible to block any attempt to redirect to an article? --GingerM (Leave me a message) 07:06, 20 February 2011 (UTC)
Bureaucrats can hide revision text, user/IP and edit summary individually on a per-revision basis. As for the key redirect, we could mark it as a personal exclusion. We have done this in the past for people who kept two personas separate, and wished one of them not to be covered. --GreenReaper(talk) 07:23, 20 February 2011 (UTC)
Support. This seems like a reasonable request. --CodyDenton 07:39, 20 February 2011 (UTC)
Action completed. --GreenReaper(talk) 06:48, 21 February 2011 (UTC)
