I propose that this page be deleted since it is a copy of what is on WikiPedia. Alternatively, we could trim the page down a LOT, and have a link to the relavent WikiPedia article. Comments? --Dmuth 05:07, 20 Nov 2005 (UTC) I vote for deletion or massive revision and trimming - what's shown here is hardly relevant to our primary subject. -- Siege 06:02, 20 Nov 2005 (UTC)

Likewise Vote for deletion, why Wikipedia its self isn't furry related. It would be like having an article on what a Hotel is just because some cons happen at hotels. --Nidonocu - talk Nidonocu 11:03, 20 Nov 2005 (UTC)

I shortened the article to a sentance. I have been copying and adding pages from Wikipedia to Wikifur when it comes to articles on animals or other beings furries are interested in. I understand that the Wikifur is NOT trying to be Wilipedia but I thought that having full, complete articles rather than the paragrapgh or two that seem to appear would due until more furs start adding and changing them. Since I copied them from Wikipedia I put a reference to that database on the top of the pages for copyright purposes, I felt it would only be fit to explain where it is that I got the articles from.

My appologies,

Indagare

I'm not convinced this is an article we need. -- Sine 20:13, 24 July 2006 (UTC)

Actually, looking at the 'what links here' page for this article. It now looks like its worth keeping due to the number of links, just as a reference point in case there are people who don't know what Wikipedia is and we can launch them over there to learn. :) --Nidonocu - talk Nidonocu 00:22, 25 July 2006 (UTC)

WikiFur article mention[edit]

I'm not sure the fate of WikiFur's article on Wikipedia is all that relevant. Besides, it's up for review (I strongly recommend people look but don't touch - let them decide if the right decision was made :-) --GreenReaper(talk) 06:17, 9 November 2006 (UTC)

If they keep it deleted, it's double-fursecution. Tretonin 08:43, 9 November 2006 (UTC)

It looks like they're keeping it deleted so it needs some mention somewhere on Wikifur, preferably in a place people can find and should include the word fursecution. I was throwing out some ideas in the article here but not necessarily the fine-tuned product, but still they are ideas I think people should look at. Tretonin 22:29, 9 November 2006 (UTC)

Now it looks like they're reviewing the article about Tapestries MUCK for possible deletion too. --mwalimu 04:13, 10 November 2006 (UTC)
And others. Two of the more outrageous - Albedo Anthropomorphics and Furcadia. --GreenReaper(talk) 06:38, 10 November 2006 (UTC)
Encyclopedia Dramatica uploaded an image of two combined screenshots of the deletion, but they did it all wrong. First they didn't do it in PNG. Then, the second screenshot wa the deletion log for the redirect to WikiFur and not the main article. Tretonin 08:03, 10 November 2006 (UTC)
ED does a lot of stuff, and not all of it well. I'm sure certain members had felt that it was unfair that WikiFur had an article but ED did not. --GreenReaper(talk) 08:20, 10 November 2006 (UTC)
The nominator Fandyllic says he's from WoWWiki and didn't like that being deleted. I don't think anyone from ED would try to delete Wikifur's article. They tried many others, but not Wikifur. To them, Furry -> drama -> lulz. Off the subject, ED's site is down often, too. Tretonin 09:43, 10 November 2006 (UTC)
Miltopia is the one from ED (monorailcat). --GreenReaper(talk) 15:50, 10 November 2006 (UTC)
Ursa Major Awards is being reviewed too now. Any idea why so many furry-related articles are being hit on at once? --mwalimu 14:46, 10 November 2006 (UTC)
Because Miltopia/monorailcat brought up Category:Furry when the deletion of the WikiFur article was being reviewed (I didn't start that review, in part because I had a feeling it'd be an excuse to go on a furry jihad). --GreenReaper(talk) 15:50, 10 November 2006 (UTC)
Given that there are many more articles on Wikipedia at any given time that could reasonably be reviewed for deletion than could reasonably be reviewed at a time, it does look highly suspect that so many furry-related articles are coming up at once. Does Wikipedia have any sort of policy that addresses this sort of thing to guard against "crusades" against particular subjects and interests? --mwalimu 17:01, 10 November 2006 (UTC)
Not really. It has WP:POINT, but it encourages editors to be bold in doing things that they think are right. Good faith is a defense, and up to the complainant to disprove. --GreenReaper(talk) 17:36, 10 November 2006 (UTC)

JzG AFD'd Ursa Major Awards. JzG is high up in the Wikipedia Hivemind-Cabal. WP:POINT is just bull**** that Wikipedians use to avoid any sense of fairness. If people singled out certain articles, they do it because they dislike the subject; they're doing it to get them deleted, not to prove a point. Tretonin 02:08, 11 November 2006 (UTC)
