Paragraph and fact tag was added after information from local and out of state people of interest related that that was the initial report in December. Current investigation is still ongoing, and Sheppard is out in bail since January, 2014, after initially being booked into the Pima County Jail. - Spirou 00:32, 20 February 2014 (EST)

It wasn't added with a fact tag - that's what Patch was highlighting - but I've added one now. Close friends are not necessarily reliable sources, especially if they don't want to publish something publicly about it. Until he was arrested and convicted, then all bets were off. The difference is that Ted wrote Beiro right off as soon as he was arrested, and way before final sentencing. He (Sheppard) still does have friends supporting him finically, legally, and emotionally during this waiting period. How fickle friendship can be.
