Exclusion request

Some hours ago I received an email purportedly from the article subject's mother requesting the article be excluded. Because the article has been around for some years and covers a controversial individual, I would rather put this up to community consensus as well as make any attempt to verify the identity of the person who sent the email, if it is considered necessary to do so.

What should be done? — beeps (talk, contribs) 08:21, 22 March 2012 (EDT)

Nay on exclusion. Public furry notability on the same level as personalities Sibe and Mozdoc and others who have made an impact on the fandom - Spirou 11:15, 22 March 2012 (EDT)
Do not exclude, per Spirou. Equivamptalk 11:28, 22 March 2012 (EDT)
Unless someone who is the subject of a WikiFur article is a minor, deceased, or medically unavailable for communication in some way, I don't see that we can consider an exclusion request from a parent rather the individual. -- Sine 12:16, 22 March 2012 (EDT)
As pertains to the current request, I concur with Sine. --mwalimu 12:49, 22 March 2012 (EDT)
Not sure what it counts for, but I've just received a pretty bizarre email that is purportedly from the subject's mother, as well? Seems to have a link to a personal webpage that has some pretty incendiary statements about Wikifur and some other places on it, so if any of that puts weight toward exclusion vs. not, I'd take it into consideration. In my personal opinion, though, it's not the mother and the subject has a history of posing as other people online. No exclusion, let the facts stay as they stand. Might be worth noting that she might be popping up to cause more trouble in the future, though, with this new... erm... development. :/ Banrai 16:57, 1 July 2012 (EDT)

Cease and desist order

There is indeed an Investigator Mark Tarasco with the Gilroy Police Department. Site notes that he works in the detective unit and investigations, handling cases such as missing persons, property crimes, homicide, robbery and gang activity. The phone number and email are legit - Spirou 06:17, 22 August 2012 (EDT)
WikiFur is a gang now? Can we get our own gang sign?
I have not been contacted regarding this topic, but as far as I am concerned, this article does not meet California's definition of illegal conduct (scroll to end; "seriously alarming, seriously annoying, seriously tormenting, or seriously terrorizing the person and that serves no legitimate purpose"). As always, I encourage editors to review references to ensure that we are not representing the opinions of others as facts.
WikiFur should also not become a substitute venue for those who to express their own opinion - they should do so elsewhere, and then it may be referenced and attributed here. As such, we would avoid ideally "theories" (e.g. "Based on the consistent spelling and grammar errors, this page is actually authored by Kim herself, and this is not the first time she has pretended to be her own mother online.") and instead simply state referenced facts ("The page has consistent spelling and grammar errors.") and the opinions of others ("X has said that Y pretended to be her mother based on such errors."). --GreenReaper(talk) 12:56, 22 August 2012 (EDT)

24 hours has passed. Let the games begin. — beeps (talk, contribs) 04:21, 23 August 2012 (EDT)

I've been emailed again, this time in "concerned citizen" style, although I highly doubt this person is who they claim to be.

I gotten warnings to make sure not talk about this person on my LiveJounal, or anywhere on the internet. My friends that talked about this person on their LJ either had their accounts suspended. Their posts removed with warning of being suspended if they continue posting about this person. The parents of this said person is seeking legal action on any furs for the serious allegations of crime and stalking made by them. My friend said after doing a criminal history check on her. They are scared shitless of being sued. I’ve been aware for years of your page on the said person. Claims that are being said are serious allegations, and they are indeed false claims by this background check. I saw the part where she contacted you with a notice to remove the page. I won’t be laughing at it if I was you! You and others are looking at very serious problem on your hands. I was told there is a Bay Area fur that was arrested with the charges of stalking and attempted murder /rundown of this person. Also. I'm not sure if this true. It's being rumored that she and Kylen Miles are friends now!

There is an image attached - "kimmyscriminalhistory.jpg" - apparently showing a clean criminal history record.

Reasons to be suspicious:

  • The tone of the writing and inclusion of somewhat irrelevant details that only serve to make the subject sound better.
  • A couple of minutes of googling told me that, unless you're a DoJ approved organisation, you can't look up criminal history records for other people in the State of California.
  • I question why a person would have an entry in a criminal records database in the first place if there is no criminal history there. This could just be my personal ignorance of how American law enforcement works, however.
  • Looking at Google Maps, the address given in the criminal record resolves to a public gardens. It is also different to the address given in a previous email I received in July.

Seems like another sockpuppet to me. — beeps (talk, contribs) 03:15, 12 November 2012 (EST)

Remove the slander you have on your website about my daughter Kim Keister (ALL THE PAGES, EVERY SINGLE ONE OF THEM). We have filed reports to the police and an attorney has been hired to represent my daughter in court. I’ve sent copies of your website to our attorney and we won’t hesitate to REALLY take you to court. Trust me though, we won’t be the ones loosing. This is going to affect you both monetarily and personally as I will advertise this lawsuit. Trust me every major media newspaper will have copies of everything you have done to our disabled daughter. Did you know it’s against law to post other peoples pictures and personal information? It’s also against the law to discuss a person’s disabilities if you not a doctor, even if it’s only online; it’s also a serious offence in California to stalk a person, even if it’s online. We have so much stuff you’ll be paying for, which includes emotional and physical damage done was done to my daughter. Not to mention everything you would lose. You be facing jail time, which we were told is a very strong possibility would happen to you. Understand there is no statute of limitations when the victim is a disabled person and the things you have done to attack my daughter. Some of them are not just misdemeanors but are federal crimes (Like claims she was sexually harassing a minor and stealing). Quit talking and writing about my daughter. If we ever see or hear anymore rumors, emails, or websites with Kim’s name, pictures, information, or any information (Including reposting of this email). about anyone in the Keister family! There won’t be any more warnings and we will indeed prosecute you in a court of law.

Mr. Keister

Whatever happened to Detective Mark Tarasco from the Gilroy Police Department, investigating the case?. Hmm, also, there is indeed an Arthur A. Ferraro, Attorney at Law (arthurferraro.com), so the name and profession is legit,... but then, so was Investigator Mark Tarasco - Spirou 08:14, 28 November 2012 (EST)
Honestly, by now shouldn't this cycle of crazyness be part of the article? This is the exact same behavior that was documented for years, and at least in the case of the first few 'Cease and Desist' orders (I put that in quotes because they barely qualified as anything, much less that) it's pretty clear that with all the errors and misspellings that Kim somehow had a hand in the writing/sending of them.
Oh, I nearly forgot - as for Officer/Investigator Tarasco: Right after I did the cleanup/revamp of this article I actually got the same email from Kim - I got several, actually, one of which threatened that she had taken out papers on me with her local police department. So I not only wrote the good officer an e-mail after tracking him down online, but called the department. They had absolutely no record regarding any paperwork including my name, at all. Therefore, I think it's safe to assume that any of these threatening emails are nothing but hot air. -Banrai 14:24, 5 December 2012 (EST)
My preference is not to use discussion or edits on WikiFur itself as a reference (that gets recursive) but could quote and reference your experience if you post it externally. -- Sine 15:18, 5 December 2012 (EST)
Fair enough. That being said, I'm honestly about fed up with getting these stupid emails. I've phoned the Gilroy PD and left a message for the good officer, so with luck he'll be back in touch and this can be gotten to the bottom of soon enough. :| -Banrai 17:06, 5 December 2012 (EST)
It would appear that Mrs. Keister monitors this page quite closely. Not a day after I made the above comment/reply, a sheriff showed up at my home saying that an individual called his department claiming to be "Barbara Keister", saying that not only had I been making excessive harassing phonecalls to Kimberleigh, but that she had seemingly tried to kill herself just that morning over it. He was very pleased to hear all about her antics, as well as to see the archives of emails that Mrs. Keister has sent just to myself alone. I also told him about how I suspected that this was triggered by my own call to the officer she claimed was in charge of the case in her hometown, and he has that officer's contact information and is going to follow up with Officer Tarasco and forward all the documents to him. I'm not going to say much else about this publicly, since I don't really feel like it's appropriate to make this a witch hunt and it's looking like at this point it is going to be in the hands of the law - but if any of you find that you're getting emails that seem suspiciously like they're from Kim, please don't hesitate to contact me privately. I'll be glad to hear you out and add whatever you've got to my stack of evidence. -Banrai 15:12, 8 December 2012 (EST)

Court Hearing in Merced

Hey guys, we're just now home from CA after having to go to court with Kim for some antics. There's an update for this page brewing - if she starts spamming Wikifur with stuff in the next little bit, please have GreenReaper get in touch with me. There's currently some paperwork in the court systems that difinitively lays Mrs. Keister out as an uncredible witness and a vexatious litigant. --Banrai (talk) 22:08, 30 September 2016 (EDT)
