Marketing[edit]

Can I ask for clarification on the 'vastly negative' responses to the FA marketing, it comes up on the page as 'citation needed' with no references, and from what I've seen of the responses to the campaign, they were mostly positive with only two or three negative comments. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Kitutal (talkcontribs) .

Criticism[edit]

Similarly to the above comment, it would be nice if people could refrain from posting comments that are not true, and not backed up by any evidence or citations. This is an encylopedia of facts, not of rumours. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Kitutal (talkcontribs) .

Inappropriate tag[edit]

{{Inappropriate}} tag added to the article. Monitoring this event, this non-starter con switched to a series of furmeets, which are themselves having trouble taking off the ground. Submit deletion proposal until such time as what this article is defined what it's really about. - Spirou (talk) 09:16, 24 June 2014 (EDT)

I don't see the problem. This article is about something which was proposed as a convention, but that didn't work out, so it's now planned to be a series of events. These things don't always fit nicely into a box. All the events are being branded as "Fur Isle" and have the same lead organizer, Kitutal. --GreenReaper(talk) 10:53, 24 June 2014 (EDT)
"So it's now planned to be a series of events". Which, unfortunately, are neither working out. I will revert my last edit, but, imho, it needs some rewording to read more informative than a "live car wreck recount" (imho, again). - Spirou (talk) 20:02, 24 June 2014 (EDT)
Yeah, I see it . . . well, there is some value to documenting car wrecks, too, if only to avoid them in the future. We can point people to the actual furmeet that is likely to happen there. --GreenReaper(talk) 20:07, 24 June 2014 (EDT)
I can see the sense in removing the page and waiting for more definite information on the event going ahead, though of course the main convention was only postponed to 2015 rather than being cancelled, I am not sure what the rules are on how far in advance something like that can be discussed here.
Meanwhile, though, I am still waiting for some citation for this claim that most of the staff have left, which might be difficult, seeing as how that never happened. Though, the whole 'has received heavy criticism' is rather an exaggeration. Kitutal (talk) 17:37, 29 June 2014 (EDT)

Have still not gotten any response to messages sent to staff admins. A lot of what has been posted to this page over the last few months has been highly inaccurate or exaggerated by certain individuals, as shown by the lack of citations for their comments. I would like to request that the page stick to genuine facts, or if that is not possible for it to be removed from the site entirely. Thank you Kitutal (talk) 12:45, 16 September 2014 (EDT)

What happened at Fur Isle[edit]

I have removed the edit that added "Kitual (Supposed Con Owner) left a young child alone on the IoW where the venue had no idea what furisle was.", as it doesn't appear supported by the Facebook discussion (a screencap of which was linked to). Saying that Kitual left someone somewhere suggests they actually met up at some point and Kitual then abandoned them, but the FB discussion reads more like "someone went to the advertised venue and couldn't find anyone there who knew anything about the event".

I'm sure there's something that needs to be added about what did or did not happen at the event (and if it took place in any meaningful way), but the statement above doesn't seem to describe things accurately.--Higgs Raccoon (talk) 13:56, 4 November 2014 (EST)

Aaaaand you believe that Higgs?—The preceding unsigned comment was added by 86.159.113.162 (talkcontribs) .
Belief or disbelief doesn't come into it. The issue here is describing events accurately and providing references that support the version of events you are claiming..--Higgs Raccoon (talk) 07:43, 5 November 2014 (EST)
The person in question was in their 20s and accompanied by at least one parent, they arrived at the venue where the event was being held, didn't recognise anyone and were therefore reluctant to approach any groups of strangers, and the staff were not very helpful (this doesn't surprise me, they weren't the most helpful bunch setting up or over that entire day). New Format[edit]

Liking the new format for the page, I can provide plenty of citations as required, but I'm a little awkward on how exactly to add them and reference stuff, can someone explain the required format and codes there, or do it for me if I provide the links? As well, I'm not sure on phrasing of the line 'convention fails to take place' as it implies people were expecting it, rather than it having been officially cancelled months earlier. 86.24.139.55 14:07, 6 December 2014 (EST)
