How can I do a redirect from "Dead Dog Party"? I know, me dum. --Tom Howling 04:33, 26 January 2007 (UTC)

No problem - I forget sometimes myself. It's:
#redirect [[TermToRedirectTo]]
----DuncanDaHusky(talk) 14:17, 26 January 2007 (UTC)
I would note that there is also a Deaddog!. --GreenReaper(talk) 14:21, 26 January 2007 (UTC)

The Deaddog IRC group is named after the dead dog party, not the other way around, I'm sure... Here's a more or less random convention post mentioned a dead dog party, from 1992. -- Sine 20:38, 26 January 2007 (UTC)

Yes, I completely agree that these should be merged, with a redirect. I'll do that now. I searched for "Dead Dog Party" and "Dead Dog", but didn't think of "deaddog"! :) --Tom Howling 22:47, 26 January 2007 (UTC)

Not at all an appropriate merge, in my opinion, as it gives the impression that Deaddog! originated dead dog parties, which is absolutely not the case; see my comment above. More discussion is needed. Before anything beyond a trivial merging, there should be discussion and consensus, or time for discussion (if no responses are given over, it could be assumed that the matter isn't under debate). -- Sine 23:21, 26 January 2007 (UTC)
Agreed with Sine,... One details a known convention event, predating the net by a few years, the other describes an internet service (an IRC chat room,) related to such events. The first dead dogs parties i attended were just hosted by the con itself, or a random fur,... if they are controlled by this deaddog! group now, it's something that transpired recently Spirou 23:31, 26 January 2007 (UTC)
Agreed with Spirou and Sine. I helped run a Dead Dog party at Anthrocon 2000 (and still have some pics laying around from it). It had no association with the IRC channel in question. --Douglas Muth 06:15, 27 January 2007 (UTC)
My apologies to all for jumping the gun... I wasn't familiar with the protocol. If anyone knows how to easily revert these articles to their previous states pending a resolution of the discussion, I certainly won't complain. Sorry I don't know how to do it myself (except cut and paste), but I suspect there are better ways). --Tom Howling 21:36, 27 January 2007 (UTC)
