_A_ David E Klinkler died in El Cajon on that date, but I doubt if it was the same one that attended CF7 the following week (Jan 12th 1996). Any references/sources? Tevildo 10:41, 7 Oct 2005 (UTC)

Matter resolved with some Google Group excavation. Truly a horrible incident, and one that I'll admit that I was unaware of (before my time). If any of David's friends or people who knew him would care to add some details about him and his life, it would be appreciated. Looking at some of the old Usenet postings, he plainly had a large number of people who cared about him, and I'm sure his life was enriched by that.--Duncan da Husky 20:12, 7 Oct 2005 (UTC)
Thanks. My sincerest apologies if my initial comment comes over as offensive - the facts of his death are indeed publically available, but it's not mentioned in any of the newsletters linked from the CF7 page, so I assumed that he'd attended the convention. Tevildo 20:18, 7 Oct 2005 (UTC)

David[edit]

David was truly one person I will never forget.

He was an artist who loved his music. He could be found rearranging his music at any time that the creative bug bit him.

He was a generous young man who provided me with a place to live and all he asked for in exchange was that I watch his children while he and his wife Z were at class in college.

David was murdered, along with a friend of his named Gary, as they walked the streets of El Cajon, CA.

Years later it turned out to have been a murder committed by two angry teenagers. I have yet to learn their motive for this act of senseless violence.

David loved being a Furry. I did not share his love for this group, but, I did enjoy the characters when they came over for a night of games and socializing.

David was one person who I believe would have made a difference in the world had he been able to live his life to it's fullest.

I will always remember David and his wife Z for the help they gave me and for the lessons I learned about tolerence and understanding through knowing them. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Crobbins (talkcontribs) .

On furries as a whole[edit]

Just left a statement on Talk:MetalHead about this incident as a singular event in the furry fandom, and what that says about furries. -- Siege(talk) 22:46, 26 July 2008 (UTC)
