Talk:Balto

This reads like a movie review than a general article. Plus, what does this have to do with furry? The category title seems to suggest that there were some furry MUCKs born of this film, but there really are no mentions of this in the article proper. Shall we tag this for deletion?--Kendricks Redtail 17:00, 18 December 2006 (UTC)

It does need cleanup and to assert its relevance to the furry fandom, but deletion is too much. After clicking "What links here" from the Balto page, I can see several links to the page. --Rat 17:12, 18 December 2006 (UTC)
Ok, I could clean it up right quick, but what IS the relevance to furry? Besides accusing of it of the saturation of wolf/husky characters in the fandom? ;P --Kendricks Redtail 17:30, 18 December 2006 (UTC)
Arctic Thunder MUCK, Crossroads MUCK, BaltoMUCK, Northern Lights MUCK all link to the Balto page. That I think is enough. There's a few other pages that use Balto as an example, but that alone might not have been enough, if it wasn't for the MUCKs. --Rat 18:29, 18 December 2006 (UTC)
Did the best I could even if it stripped the page down to barebones. Do you know anything else on how this movie might have affected furry? --Kendricks Redtail 19:06, 18 December 2006 (UTC)
Yeah, chopping it down was probably the best thing to do. I did find some furries had named themselves after Balto, and it does inspire fanart [1] [2] [3] [4] --Rat 19:27, 18 December 2006 (UTC)
Do you want to mention them or the fanart? Also, nice picture, but can we find the cover or poster of the actual movie? Unless this article is focusing on the character himself. --Kendricks Redtail 20:00, 18 December 2006 (UTC)
Found a poster of it and added it. The fanart could be mentioned, although whether it's in general terms or with specifics is up to whatever works best with the article. --Rat 20:13, 18 December 2006 (UTC)
