Some hacker launched a nasty sql injection exploit against the site.
Rather than restore from a backup with the old code they are going to update the database and rebuild.

Quick Q.[edit]

Regarding the AnthroCon IRL "raid" by 7channers (as I noticed the lack of a reference was brought up in an edit summary), would it be permissible to use, say, an LJ entry or something or does wikifur have a minimum standard for sources that is higher than that? Just wonderin'-El, oh, el 04:05, 8 July 2007 (UTC)

I was wondering the same thing. What kind of reference could be used? As with almost all imageboards, inactive posts are deleted within a day, which makes using anything there as a reference rather hard. What else could be used? -- 20:15, 8 July 2007 (UTC)

  • That's exactly the problem. Really though, I do not think that the {{fact}} template is absolutely necessary in this case as it is quite well known and noted on numerous LJ comms that 7channers conspired to interrupt AC - with or without the support of the 7chan moderators. But if they insist on a source, well... *shrugs*-El, oh, el 07:59, 9 July 2007 (UTC) Ah, I see what the problem with the sourcing is. I'll make a few minor changes and we'll see if the {{tl|fact}} template is still required :3-El, oh, el 08:06, 9 July 2007 (UTC)

Death? Or just hacked again?[edit]

I was doublechecking the status of 7chan today and noticed that the external link for their furry image board leads to an error page. I also checked their main page and ended up looking at a google search page instead.

It appears to me that when searching for 7chan in cached pages, there is only a page about male enhancement drugs and some other nonsense. So either the site is dead or it was hacked. One way or the other, the links on the article that go to the baord are all broken for the time being. --Markus(talk) 18:24, 18 June 2008 (UTC)
