GreenReaper makes a good point that most furries have probably never been to a science fiction convention. It's a bit of a shame, I think, because it helps to provide some cultural context - furry fandom did not spring out of nowhere, after all, and while there are a great many innovations in furry culture, a huge amount is also carried over from science fiction fandom (and other fandoms as well, of course). --Duncan da Husky 15:42, 16 Jan 2006 (UTC)

that's too little for me! i need at least 10 hours of sleep, 5 meals and 2 showers! in fact a convention consisting of nothing but sleeping, eating and showering would be great fun. i love sleeping, eating and showering. --Unci 08:59, 17 Jan 2006 (UTC)
In that case, why bother with the convention? Just stay at home and eat, sleep and shower to your heart's content. :-) --GreenReaper(talk) 10:25, 17 Jan 2006 (UTC)
Because sometimes it's all about the thrill of showering in a strange place in a room with people you've never met and hope to never see again! Besides, tiny hotel soaps provide much fun and enjoyment! You just can't get micro-shampoo and soap that easily anywhere else. --Preyfar 10:49, 17 Jan 2006 (UTC)
Sleeping, eating and showering together is so much more fun! --Unci 14:38, 17 Jan 2006 (UTC)
