Sonic the Hedgehog is a comic book series by Archie based on Sonic the Hedgehog video games by SEGA. It is published every 4 weeks, twice in Feburary. It was based off the Saturday morning cartoon based on the series that aired September 18, 1993 to June 3, 1995 on ABC.

- An seventeen year old hedgehog with the ability to run sonic speeds.
- Shadow is Sonic's doppelgänger and uses special shoes for his sonic speed. He considers himself the ultimate lifeform.
Dulcy
- The only dragon member of the Freedom Fighters and her first appearance was issue #29. She was banished from her home, because she wasn't allow to leave the ancient draconian city of Vesuvio. Her black singe ring was removed from her nose and was replaced by a gold magic ring that inhibited her ability to breath fire.
Princess Sally Alica Acorn
- She's a squirrel princess around the same age of Sonic.
Antoine D'Coolette
- He's the French accented character of the cast.
- A pink hedgehog close to the same age as Tails. Has a crush on Sonic.
Knuckles the Echidna
- Guardian of the Master Emerald. Maintains a healthy rivalry with Sonic.
Rouge the Bat
- Professional jewel thief, joined up with Shadow and Dr. Eggman after a failed attempt to steal the master emerald.
Dr. Eggman
- The robotic ruler of half of Mobius, Dr. Eggman (A.K.A Dr. Robitnik) is Sonic's arch-nemesis.
