Kyle Guthrie, also known professionally as Skunk Rocker, is a professional wrestler who lives in Chattanooga, Tennessee, USA.
Biography[edit]
Kyle was born in 1986 in Des Plaines, Illinois. His family moved to the Chattanooga area when he was a child, but he spent his summers staying with his aunt and uncle in Illinois. Most of his youth was spent watching movies, many of which were animated classics such as The Lion King and An American Tail which gave him a deep appreciation for anthropomorphic characters. He also is an avid gamer, and spent a lot of time playing Sonic the Hedgehog as a child.
In the late 90s Kyle discovered, through some fellow Sonic fans, VCL and Furcadia, the latter of which introduced him to furries as a whole. Officially Kyle joined the fandom in 1999 with his first fursona being a black cat. However, for many years in the fandom he languished trying to find an identity for himself that fit. After returning to his high school one Autumn with a stripe in his hair from a bleached mohawk, his peers began calling him "Skunk" and the name stuck ever since, and was what he continued to use in the fandom, although many furs to avoid confusion call him Rocker. He is fine with either.
Personal Life[edit]
He lives in Chattanooga with his fiancé Dakotah and their cat Hyundai.
Scrubhaus[edit]
Skunk started Scrubhaus in 2017 with fellow fur GloKat. Originally a combination of both of their Discord servers as they had essentially the same members and interests, the idea of starting an alternative art collective online centered around their love of shlock cinema blossomed. While not strictly a furry community, many furs in the fandom have joined. The server hosts weekly movie nights and encourages self promotion.
Professional Wrestling[edit]
In 2018 after a trip to Nashville to see an independent wrestling show, Skunk was inspired by a now former friend to join the TWE Performance Combine under the tutelage of Jaden Newman to become a professional wrestler. Although starting his wrestling career fairly late in his life, Skunk found that he loved the business so much and regrets not making the decision sooner. Skunk officially debuted as Skunk Rocker in December of 2022. He mainly performs at TWE Chattanooga related shows such as their student showcase Crash Course, but has also performed at other shows such as ACTION Wrestling, SCI Events, EGOPRO, and Renegade Championship Wrestling.
