A seal is a large marine mammal in the Pinniped family. Seals are rather big in size and are typically sleek-bodied. Their bodies are well adapted to marine habitat. They have large flipper-like forelegs and a body that narrows down from head to tail. All seals are carnivorous. They enjoy eating fish, shellfish, squid, and other marine creatures which they eat to add on the layer of blubber they have to survive the cold waters. Earless seals belong to the family Phocidae, eared seals belong to the family Otariidae, and the walrus belongs to the family Odobenidae.
Seals in the furry fandom[edit]
An anthropomorphic version of seals is possible. Their bodies may be more human shaped and have human-like forearms but the back flippers may or may not stay the same.
