ScandinAviary was a proposed convention for furries in Scandinavia to be set, most likely, somewhere in Sweden.
Planning[edit]
A scandinavian con has been discussed among furries in Scandinavia, but up until August 3rd, 2007, there had been no coordinated planning to bring such an event to fruition. On aforementioned date, Joon (NorPaw) began making posts in LiveJournal communities (norpaws and swefur) and the Norwegian Paws forum urging fellow scandinavian furres to gather up around, and spread the word of, the project he named "ScandinAviary". According to Joon, this name came to him in a dream a few nights after a conversation with Swandog, Sayh and Felix Carni regarding the subject of arranging a scandinavian furry convention.
On August 4th, 2007, Felix Carni established the ScandinAviary Forum, to provide a common forum for all scandinavian furres to share thoughts and ideas, plan and ultimately arrange a con.
On August 6th, 2007, Wolftale (NorPaw) created the ScandinAviary LiveJournal Community, mainly meant for announcements that are worked out in the forum.
On August 7th, 2007, Swandog provided the ScandinAviary project with its logo (seen above).
As of July 6, 2011, the ScandinAviary Forum site is no longer accessible, and the last LiveJournal group mention of the proposed convention, on October 31, 2009, conceded the plans for it had failed to gain traction.[1]
