Reffurence (abbreviated RFR) is a furry convention located in Rotterdam, Netherlands. Reffurence has its target area in the BeNeLux, Europe. They come together to celebrate the furry fandom, which includes art, literature and performances based around anthropomorphic animals.

2022 and 2023[edit]

Reffurence was launched in July of 2022, with the enrollment in the Dutch Chamber of Commerce. ^[3] ^[4] During the Christmas Holidays of 2022, the dates of the convention in 2023 were announced, Aug 31 - Sep 3, 2023. ^[5]

On 7th of January it was made public that Reffurence would take place in the City of Antwerp. ^[6]

The first edition has the "Rumble in the Jungle" theme, and is mainly focused on the rainforest jungles.

However, due to the change in dates of the Eurofurence^[7], which caused a conflict with the two conventions. Reffurence decided to change the dates to 3 to 6 August 2023.

2024[edit]

On the 18th of March, 2024, the next edition of Reffurence was announced to take place from the 24th to the 27th of October 2024. It has the theme "Howl-o-Ween", celebrating Halloween.^[8] A few days later, the new venue was announced in the city of Rotterdam, The Netherlands.

Staff[edit]

The team of Reffurence began small, however, during the first year of setup a larger team has been formed and departments were set up. Most board members, head of departments and volunteers joined in 2022 or 2023.
