Ian Layton, also known as Rama, (born June 10, 1976) currently resides in St. Louis, Missouri, USA. He has been head of registration and webmaster for Mephit Fur Meet since 2002. He also helps out at various other conventions, usually answering the pleas of Duncan da Husky.

He joined the furry community in 1996 when he joined The Lion King MUCK and FurryMUCK while in college in Vermont.

He currently holds a BS in Computer Science from Middle Tennessee State University. His first attempt a college degree, a BS in Meteorology from Lyndon State College in Vermont, failed partly because he didn't know when to turn his attention away from the mucks. However, he's fairly happy now with where it landed him in life.

Beyond computer programming, his interests include meteorology (weather), baseball, hockey, and history, especially American Civil War and World War II.

Currently resides with his partner, Kbear, and their black Lab Sammy.

Rama "oversees the dealer room, art show and artist alley departments" of Gateway FurMeet.[1]. A resident of St Louis, he has been attending conventions since 1999 and has been on staff of a convention since 2002. Besides GFM, he has or is staff at MFM, MFF, FWA and AC."[1]

Rama is the Registration Lead for Midwest Furfest and was elected to be con chairman for the 2018 convention.
