A print is a high-quality copy of an original piece of artwork. Since a print is only a copy of the original, they typically sell for less than an original piece of art. Some artists sell a limited number of prints of an original, marked by a serial number, to increase the resell value of their prints by creating more demand for a smaller available quantity.

Not all prints are the same quality or size. Prints may range from canvas-like matting material, to glossy high quality paper, to low quality light-weight paper. Prints may be larger or smaller than the original work, and may optionally be touched up with actual paint or other media by the artist to increase their resale value.
