PAWCon (known before 2017 as Pacific Anthro[pomorphics] Weekend'[1] and PacAnthro) is a furry convention in the San Francisco Bay Area in California, USA.

History[edit]

2014[edit]

Pacific Anthro Weekend 2014 took place from November 14-16, 2014,[2] at the San José Airport Garden Hotel in San Jose, California. The event featured a main stage (which had the Fursuit Dance Competition, Fursuit Games and an open cash bar during the dances), gaming lounge and semi-quiet social area, Dealers Den, and a photoshoot.

The Guests of Honor were fursuiter and DJ Neon Bunny, as well as Bucker Fuskyote, Cohn Jonner, Raid Zero, and Ikkuma.[3]

There were 213 attendees[4] and about 45 fursuiters at the photoshoot.[5]

2015[edit]

Pacific Anthro Weekend 2015 was held over October 30 - November 1, 2015,[6] at the DoubleTree San Jose. The theme was "Survival of the Furriest".[7]

The guests of honor were Pepper Coyote and WhiteyFawkes.[8] The convention saw 310 attendees (including 10 dealers), and $2,325 was raised for the con's charity, Wildlife Companions.[9]

Pacific Anthro Weekend 2016 took place over November 4-7, 2016,[10] at the DoubleTree San Jose. The theme was "Paw Force: Fur a Better Tomorrow".

PAW 2016 saw 438 attendees.[11] The Guests of Honor were Andrew and Sean Rabbitt of Rabbit Valley, and artist Marci McAdam.[12] This year's charity was Rocket Dog Rescue.[13]

2017[edit]

PAWCon 2017[14] took place over November 3-5, 2017,[15] at the DoubleTree San Jose. The space-based theme was "To Sirius and Beyond".

PAW 2017 saw 555 attendees and raised $4,385 for WildCare Bay Area.[16]

2018[edit]

PAWCon 2018 took place over November 2-4, 2018 at the DoubleTree San Jose.[17] The theme was "The Game Is A'Paw!: A Weekend of Mystery".[17] There were 723 attendees.[18]

2019[edit]

PAWCon 2019: A PAWHistoric Adventure took place over November 1-3, 2019 at the DoubleTree San Jose.[19] There were 864 attendees.[20]

2020[edit]

PAWCon 2020 was cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.[21]

2021[edit]

PAWCon 2021: The Home Furont took place over November 5-7, 2021 at the DoubleTree San Jose. There were 652 attendees.[22]

2022[edit]

PAWCon 2022: Pawston Paradise took place over November 4-6, 2022 at the San Jose DoubleTree hotel.[23] There were 926 attendees.[24]

2023[edit]

PAWCon 2023: Tu-deer England took place November 3-5, 2023 at the DoubleTree San Jose.[25] There were 1455 attendees,[26] and $11,000 was raised for the convention charity, Street Dog Coalition.[27]
