This is likely on WikiFur, along with other websites like Furryne.ws, because it has been mentioned in numerous places within the mainstream press - which have mentioned various aspects of the furry culture from fursuits, babyfurs and even conventions. — beeps (talk, contribs) 13:49, 1 June 2009 (UTC)

Ok but this guy was not known for anything in the fandom beforehand (not a notable artist, animator, con goer ect) and really is only notable for a sex crime (why a sex crime I wonder when a fur was arrested for armed robbery months ago), if this is significant news then we might as well open a furry police roudup section like news papers because lots of furs commit crimes daily like anyone else in the world, even Fark did not consider this worthy news and links to guys being hit in the groin are greenlit over their.—The preceding unsigned comment was added by 71.233.43.183 (talk • contribs)

I think the point is that the news A) Received mainstream media attention and B) The articles involved "furry sex". Whereas you are not going to see an article about a robbery committed by a furry unless being a furry can somehow be connected with committing the robbery. And as GreenReaper implied, there aren't enough Wikinews entries here anyway, so anything is welcome IMO, even if it is negative. skippyfox 14:31, 7 June 2009 (UTC)

"Notability" isn't an actual criteria on WikiFur, so whether a news article makes the front page is a case by case judgment. In this case, it made the mainstream national news, so the choice to include it was within reason. Personally, I could go either way on this one. --Rat 02:08, 8 June 2009 (UTC)
