News talk:2008 Ursa Major Award winners announced
With the clarification from GreenReaper, I will hesitantly agree to the change. In this case, overwhelming was on the order of about 20 emails in support of its ability to be nominated. Some did refer to the content as well, and advocated for it. However, it was surprising to see that response from our listeners, much to our disappointment. In the grand scheme of things, with approximately 1100 listeners, 20 is a minor fraction of that base.--Savrin 20:54, 18 May 2009 (UTC)
- I've added the actual number of emails to the article. I'd changed the wording from "support" because the proportion who actually did support it for an award wasn't clear, and because the Fur Affinity post talked about feedback regarding its right to be nominated. I suspect asking for responses skewed things, too. Still, if show members feel it was an unusual number (or the proportion of responses was notable), it's probably worth us noting it as well. WikiFur has thousands of readers a day, but few take the time to edit an article, let alone talk to us about them.
- At the end of the day, it probably took far less than 20 people to nominate each work. I'm not sure if we should highlight this, or how — though the fact that there were only 270 ballots in the final vote is a start. --GreenReaper(talk) 21:51, 18 May 2009 (UTC)
